Oh Fluttershy fans, your almost bad as the Rainbow Dash fans, give your favorite character some development and it's immediately a bad episode.
Too many fans hold her up as an unblemished embodiment of virgin purity than anything. And a big reason Fluttershy fans hate PYHD is because it has the audacity to make Fluttershy look bad. The writers can't developer her character in any direction that will please the rabid Fluttershy fans.
You got it all wrong. $200 hates Fluttershy with a passion. I like her, and rated the episode a 4.

Least Fluttershy can acknowledge her faults and confront them, unlike ponies like Rarity who lie and manipulate without consequence.
Yeah, I didn't notice the lamp part because it reminded me so much of gumby. lol
I was pretty mean to Fluttershy when I first got here. I still believe what she said in that episode is the most sinister and hateful possible thing within the universe. You just don't insult another pony for their birth skill, ever. However, I failed to realize she did ultimately understand her faults after that moment and was able to move on. I suppose that is quite admirable. Maybe she isn't on the way way way down bottom of the list for me after all.
Even though Rarity got away with her scheme, she still was willing to stick up for her friends in the end. She just didn't have to pay a penalty to learn the lesson. I think that's admirable as well.

The resistance to the label always struck me as high school identity politics - surely I can't be in the same group as those freaks, so I'll put all the ones I don't want to be associated in with column A and myself and those who enjoy it in the same way I do in column B. But I suppose it isn't the most important thing in the world.
