The first time I saw Picture Perfect Pony, it was just after I had watched season 2. When I discovered it, I was left thinking: "I don't remember this song from the show. But it has to be from it. That sounds just like Picture Perfect and the animation is way too good." Trying to think back on the episodes I had just watched, everything seemed like pastel, candy-colored fevered dream. When that video ended and said it was entirely fan-made, my jaw dropped. That's when I knew there was something pretty damn special about this community.

Doesn't look that modern. Brickwalls, wooden ceiling, old fashioned style light fixture. Looks medieval with a modern twist. Very MLP

My only problem is the lockers. How could ponies even use those thing? Short of being a unicorn or having wing fingers. Earth ponies are just screwed.

These lockers, that popular vs ignored plot, that ambient.

In terms of school, I like the CMC school more. It have a universal look.

I have been out of the pony loop since season 3 ended so forgive me if this has been debated to death already but how did Equestria Girls turn out?

There was much gnashing of teeth and rendering of garments at the prospect of humane ponies so now I am curious if disaster was averted.

It wasn't bad. But it really lacked the depth and enjoyment that FiM has. It was not the abomination some were expecting. I think the staff did the best they could with a really flimsy product idea from Hasbro. It wasn't painful, but it certainly wasn't anything special.

A lot of the characters are just cutouts of their pony selves because the movie is only 70 minutes. AJ, Rarity, and RD in particular really just present the stereotypes you expected from them in FiM without the depth. Fluttershy and Twilight aren't that bad (though Tara sounded very flat some of the times). I will say that Pinkie was the same as ever, and Spike Dog was enjoyable. Celestia and Luna are just unrecognizable in the human world (though I like to think they're both just super depressed after meeting their Pony counterparts and realizing their stuck as Principal and vice-principal of a high school).


The best stuff in the movie is Twilight acting like a pony in the human world. The song's aren't bad, but not up to what you'd expect from FiM. The villain isn't really anything special, and there are certainly plot holes with her.

If she's a former student of Celestia who went off on her won because she wasn't getting power fast enough, why would she go to a world without magic?

The CMC's school is a traditional one-room schoolhouse (it even has a bell on the roof). It has desks and a chalkboard, and the teacher teaches all the children of the area simultaneously, without grade levels, regardless of age. It's the kind of building you'd find in Little House on the Prairie.

Canterlot is an ultra-modern castle, and Twilight's school and living quarters, as well as her own personal library and the castle library, all seem to be integrated together seamlessly, as one would expect from the multi-billion dollar palace of a god-princess.

The comic book cover looks like Canterlot's dank basement, combined with a contemporary human high school. Which is apparently what Canterlot Magic Common School students who are not Twilight deserve.

I think the plan was to spawn a second MLP series if the Equestria Girls movie did well, and Hasbro has said that the theater release exceeded their expectations. If the DVD/Bluray sells well too, there should be nothing stopping them. Except the toy sales. The horrible, horrible toys. If they sell as well as My Little Pony dolls do, and don't steal marketshare away from the MLP dolls, then MLP will have a bright future and will definitely get two shows. But if the EG dolls bomb, then the EG series might get canned, regardless of ratings.

Well, I just got back from Vegas/Evo. Had a blast, but I was secretly hoping that someone was going to bring a leaked beta from Fighting is Magic. Oh, well. Figured it was my last chance to try it out. Thanks Hasbro.

The CMC and TS schools are fine, they are traditional and have a look that can be done in a semi-medieval world. They combine with that world.

The comic book's one looks more like a school from 50's to today and, in my opinion, looks off the original theme, like that cine in "One bad apple" episode.
