That's my point though, it kinda cuts against what Kishi was going for by dropping the genetic issue afterwards. It doesn't come across as poignant when you only go halfway and don't commit. When you hedge by saying it was real all along, it loses some of its luster.

Well, he did, obviously? He always (correctly) assumed Sarada was Sasuke's and Sakura's kid.
