Naruto and Sasuke are rivals, their rematch has been the most anticipated fight for like a decade now. Fans want to see old arguments settled, once and for all, for that to happen, the fight has to take place and resolve mano-a-mano.

We're not getting the fight we want though. We're getting a handicapped Naruto vs. Sasuke.

As for the parallel, Asura and Hashirama beat Indra and Madara respectively, on their own, despite becoming powerful through uniting people to their cause. Just goes to show some things have to be settled in old fashioned showdowns.

Ashura and Indra fought one another until their bodies were destroy and Hashirama fought to kill Madara, however, Naruto has no such intention, and I think the fact they know about their past transmigrants will make it easier for them to break the cycle altogether.

The Sasuke v Naruto rivalry has been running on fumes for years tbh; a lot of the stuff from the last twelve or so months in particular feels really dishonest, like Kishimoto's draping pointless boring misunderstandings and same-old same-old with the signifiers of a rivalry or whatever to try to falsely mislead the readers into believing they're seeing genuine friendship and conflict. The bit with the tailed beats in particular is almost completely empty; at this point, Sasuke doesn't really have any good reason to think of them as anything other than weird manifestations of chakras possessing distinct personalities that want to be left alone. A simple conversation should be able to clear up the whole situation, but of course we get chapters upon chapters of Sasuke acting like a secret asshole and then randomly going AWF on everyone instead.

She shouldn't show up at all, she should show up at the very end of the fight with kakashi to see the aftermath, should not have any words of encouragement or words at all during the fight. This is a fight years in the making and if its won by naruto because of some outside force it would cheapen the fight.

Naruto vs sasuke part 1 was them 2 battling it out head to head, 9 tails power saved him, but the 9 tails knew if naruto died, he would technically die also, so I forgive it, survival instincts are strong. So now it should be just them, fighting it out final blow should be from naruto, not sakura or kakashi showing up to punch him and say,"we are all friends and love you, come home" because that sasuke is long gone. There was a time when sasuke would have probably came home, but that time is gone. Hes full blown everyone needs to hate me to unite everyone mode.

I think we'll see something similar with the two of them ending the fight either in a draw or a little more conclusively (preferably).

At the end of the OVA Sasuke is seen picking him himself up and smiling (albeit sinisterly), I can imagine him leaving without a word, but that begs the question of how the IT would be released if he just left. I still get the feeling Naruto is going to grab his hand and force him to create a seal with him, thus burning his own arm in the process.

Naruto is getting two chapters next week and will end on chapter 700. The first chapter will be the Lead Cover at the front of the magazine, and the final chapter will be in full colour.

Naruto is now the fourth series in Shonen Jump history to end on a Lead CP following in the footsteps of Ring ni Kakero -> Dragon Ball -> Slam Dunk

And yet here he is about to "end" Naruto's life. I know fundamentally Naruto is leagues beyond Sasuke, but Kishi had to scale up Sauce just to make it entertaining. Naruto is a freaking Sage.
