During the latest episode of the MinnMax Show on YouTube, host Ben Hanson mentioned hearing a few things about the next game from Naughty Dog, including comparison to "a game with a lot of player freedom".

Hanson heard from somebody very in the know who worked on the next Naughty Dog game that people are not ready for how amazing it is going to be. He also mentioned that the game that were referenced as a point of comparison to Naughty Dog's title has a lot of player freedom.

Naughty Dog president and game director, Neil Druckmann, had shared that the studio's next game is really ambitious. He added that parts of the game are really hard to work on. However, he said that he has surrendered to knowing that it is going to be really hard and to knowing that it is going to be stressful for members of the development team.

Eh, The Last of Us Part II for four entire months of development was a free-roam Bloodborne-like.

Makes sense.

Naughty Dog has been ahead of the curve when it comes to technology. Uncharted 4 was the true "wow" moment for me when it was significantly graphic advanced compared to all other 2016 games.

That being said, what I miss most, is their productivity. They were the only studio that could pump out a 90+ MC game, EVERY TWO YEARS! I wish they are not too morbidly obsessed with graphic fidelity (which hits a diminishing return) so we could see their new work in a better pace.

I'd like something not completely open-world, maybe more "open areas" like that one in Tlou2. I'd like if "player freedom" would mean lot of ways to approaches different situations more than a huge empty map.

Yup, with how long it's taking to develop it'll probably be the closest a game has looked to a movie yet

It'll be interesting to see what this means.

I think some people hear freedom and they think open world. What I hope they mean is interactivity and animation. Freedom to interact with the world to a higher degree than what we've seen.

We've expanded the gender selection from 50 to 500.

You can now also make a real-time gender change at the press of a button.

We are also planning DLC later on that will add even more genders.
Sounds crazy but I wouldn't doubt one bit they go off the deep end with shite like that.

Pretty sure it'll look great, but I have to see how it plays too.

I'm ready for anything not gameplay orientated around PS3 Uncharted game design. If they can do that I'll be impressed. Now will this project be a PS5(pro lol) or PS6 game? Personally I'm leaning towards the later and hearing about more reboots.

Today morning I searched a lot about what Naughty Dogs is doing and it does sound like open world game or something similar.

Genuinely baffling how people still think linear, narrative focused design has relevance today. The market has spoken and the market overwhelmingly prefers open world, player choice driven games.

This is great news.

How a ND game plays, in terms of controls, visual feedback and mechanics, is the absolute least of my concerns.
Yeah their games play very, very nice, specially the feedback and animations. I was wondering about the mechanics tho, hope's not another TPS adventure with cover system, crafting and all that.

Those are fine, but I would love to see something different from them.

Game structure and design, narrative theme, ideology.. that's worth wondering.
Yeah agree on that. We've gotten treasure-hunting adventures and post-apoc drama, wonder what will be next. Some sci-fi stuff maybe?

It may be amazing but definitely it wont be what that idiot is saying. It would be dumb for ND depart from their success formula more so after the Factions debable.

you are not ready for how woke it is lmao.
Yeah I hope it's not the case. Their previous games were fine in that regard but TLOU2 was so full of that stuff that it even reached immersion-breaking levels of cringe, for me at least.

I'm not really sure why companies make off the cuff statements like this still. Have they not learned that shit happens yet?

"Not ready for how amazing it looks".

Seriously. I feel ready.

When did Naughty Dog make these statements?

Add some PISSER to it and we could have a looker indeed.
Look at Part II footage in this new video:

Game looks absolutely mindblowing still, to me.
Too bad is Rich playing, and the old man can't obviously offer good gameplay with Aim Assist and the likes.
