Kahwi "Not that Good" Leonard ...

.

Easy to do when you don't even run the offense. Aldridge could drop 35 a game.

He's 28/28 from the FT line and he's being guarded by a 40 year old, take it easy with the true shooting stats.

Is it a surprise though? They have no one that can come close to guarding Kawhi and he has been pretty aggressive going to the rim, even with the double team, so I don't find it strange that he is getting to the line at will. I don't see any ticky tack fouls being called on him while shooting jumpers, for example.

You got any numbers to back that up or just a fan made video with 4 years worth of nitpicked footage?

Man, really? I'm no Warriors fan, but I have to question whether you actually watch games if you think Curry isn't one of the most no-call fouled players in the league. It's blatant and commonly accepted even among haters at this point.

The Ringer - David Fizdale's 'Independence Day' Speech

I hope this Fizdale explosion is remembered for years to come

He probably could if he were the focal point of the offense like Duncan was.

Duncan wasn't really the "focal point" of the Spurs offense when he was 31 years old, and the game was far more slow paced back then too. Add to that the fact that Duncan played many many minutes at center, something Aldridge doesn't really do, and was thus huge for their defense (not sure about LMA's defense, have heard different things, but he's certainly no Duncan)

in other news, apparently Melo knocks up a stripper and gets her pregnant, and now lives separately from Lala. Sucks if it's true lol

What NBA podcasts do y'all listen to? I subscribe to The Ringer NBA Show, Bill Simmons, and the Lowe Post, but none of them have updated since the playoffs started.

Spurs don't want those perennial losers
True, but a PG that can run the offense would be nice and that's not a knock on Tony he's just getting up in years (yes I know they are only three years apart in age). Anyway I trust pop and RC to snag a pg in the draft that can eventually start.

I think the hope is that it will be Dejounte Murray.

Cookies: A Basketball Podcast

Dunc'd On Basketball Podcast

Game Theory Podcast (more college-focused during that season). Also focuses on the Draft. In That same vein, Ode to Oden: The NBA Draft Show, and What's On Draft NBA Draft Show do only NBA Draft-oriented things.

I haven't been able to see many spurs games this season so I don't know how his development is going but I remember all the chatter when he came in. I'd still like the spurs to make serious pushes to the finals and not waste Leonard's youth. I'm just happy he's already got a ring and a fmvp under his belt now he needs an mvp trophy.

Lol plz. All these look like is that he needs to hit the weight room. Imagine if he came into the NBA just a decade earlier he would be getting straight up mugged. This is a big boys league if refs called off the ball fouls or called fouls on every 3 where a player got bumped after the ball had left his hands they would be blowing the whistle on almost every play.
lol

Dunc'd On podcast with Nate Duncan and Danny Leroux. Best basketball pod out there.

Jordan got mugged ... yes.... but he also got free throws.

Is 50k the max a coach can get fined for bringing up poor officiating? Fizdale went OFF in that presser. Props to him for not giving a fuck.

I wouldn't be surprised if part of what screws Curry when it comes to on-ball fouls is that he learned to fall to protect his ankles, and thus is always falling to some extent. But when he has that much less space, he also has to do that. Curry definitely gets hit pretty hard sometimes off the ball though.

Iggy was uncomfortable, back when he was with the Nuggets in the series against the Warriors, about how physical they were told to be on Curry. So there's definitely at least something there.

Kawhi probably attempts more FT's than Harden in this postseason.

Impossible, Harden is taking us to the finals man.

You got all 3 of mine. I occasionally listen to Woj's podcast, but tbh, Woj is best at discussing trades and caps and FA signings, a lot of his other stuff is eeeehhh.

Road Trippin' is actually pretty great. I think Draymond had a podcast too, but I haven't checked it out much.

Sorry friend, it's time to give up that dream.

Are you watching the playoffs so far? This is the first time in 2 years that it looks like Tony has actually seriously been able to show up for the post-season with all that rest.

God damn playoffs having days in between. I'm starting to fear Parker again, especially if the Grizz get beaten in 4 or 5.

He keeps knocking down 3s that he's either left open for (defense sagging) or gets open for. That isn't fair. In two games, he's averaging 2.5/3.5 on 3 pointers (>70%), and is averaging 16.5 ppg. Only 23 mpg too, a career low for the playoffs

Seriously, I was NOT expecting Parker to actually have this sort of resurgence when I sorta-wrote the Spurs off. Two straight years of "Parker will be back in his form by the playoffs", only for him to look totally washed in the playoffs, and NOW is when he makes his resurgence.

He's being guarded by Conley too, one of the better defensive point guards in the game. I hope Bzdelick has a better plan for Kawhi than "put Ariza on him, but keep switching everything and have Bev. play help defense", because we might need Beverley to get into Parker's head a little.

Is he still starting?

Yup.

I looked at his last few weeks of the season, starting from about mid-March. Seems like there's been some sort of surge, although he looks totally different these past two games.

So far, it looks like it might be true for these playoffs. I know, 2 game sample, but still.

I'm pretty sure he's not going to shoot 70% on 3s. Call me crazy.

Tony Parker making 3s would mean, yes, he's still probably effective. There's not exactly a long history of that. So if he's not making 3s and can't do his shenanigans at the rim like he used to, he's stuck with mid-range shots.

I hope Beverley keeps this up the entire series. Just pissing him off as much as possible.

There was a point in game 1, when Bev fouled Westbrook right past half court, and you looked at Russ and it seemed like he was trying to not get pissed off. I think it was TheRinger that had an article saying this, but there was a statement I recently saw that rings pretty true about WB (what happened to GAF calling him YNB btw?): he plays well when angry and fired up, but he plays badly and recklessly when annoyed (see last night, or any of the Thunder's games against the Warriors)

lol at Parker being back. Dude is going to get ripped in the next series and will get owned if they make the WCF.

Mike Conley is one of the best defensive point guards in the league. I'm not saying he's back to being a major threat, but he's definitely having some sort of resurgence.

Also, WTF Bucks:

TheRinger said:
. All five of the Bucks' starters have a wingspan of at least 6-foot-10 regardless of position, which means they go small without losing any size.
