I actually like the basketball parts of these games, but I buy them a few times per gen. Bought 16 and then bought 19 because it was on sale for 2.99.

Debated buying 20 but I think I will skip it and wait a year or two into next gen before I buy the next one.

Back in 2K15 you could get all the best players from just beating the MyTeam challenges. I got Steph Curry and LeBron and other top players just from the packs you get as rewards. Also leveling up you MyPlayer was way faster.

I don't know why people would buy those games new - wait 8 months and you can pick them up for pennies at your local gamestop

Why are members discouraging other members to not make OT ? I mean, 2k is trash with MTs these days, but at least people will get to know about the game regardless. Great OT, nonetheless.

Got mine pretty ordered and pre installing as well speak. I have been buying this game since the first one on Dreamcast and I'm not going to stop now. I only play mycareer and myleague and I don't buy vc or rarely play online. I get the complaints I guess but I get my 60 dollars worth of entertainment every year.

Is it just me or is this game, in an attempt to be more “realistic”, has gotten boring? The game is as slow as molasses again, the score percentages are way down and the AI is slower than ever to react to things like switching off a defender. Can we bring back the days of 2K7?

yes it has regressed in speed I recall 2k 17 being like this.

It’s extremely grindy without VC. For 175,000 VC (Legend Edition 100,000 included plus $20 worth), you can boost your MyPlayer build to a low-80s baller.

You can make between 1,000-2,000 VC per MyCareer game AFTER you’ve been drafted, with up to 1,000 of that coming from per-game “salary”. At minimum, you’d have to play 88 games to make 175,000 VC— and that’s provided that you earn 2,000 per game. If your performance isn’t top-notch, you’ll earn less and need more games.

And, since VC is the only way to raise stats, you’re fucked if the platform’s online service or TTWO’s servers shit the bed.

MyCareer’s “story mode” also ends way too soon and without a really satisfying conclusion. What’s there along the way is pretty good.

Oof I keep looking at it on the store, but after getting last year for 4.00 and having fun until I hit the cap breakers I keep telling myself wait until next year and get it on the next gen system.

Part of me still wants to buy it even though I don’t have enough time for the other games I’m playing and BL3 is out on Fri.

Can somebody help me hold strong until then?

Yeah, 2K17 was also molases, but not as bad as 2K10. They fixed it somewhat in 2K11-15 and then back to molasses.

I got 2k19 when it was on sale for like $10. I always played MyCareer, and kinda enjoyed the story until it just......ended. And with Marcus Young apparently using his salary on VC and becoming a fucking superstar overnight.

I get that narrative-heavy stories are not everyone's cup of tea in a basketball game, but I think it went a little too far in the other direction in 2k19. They could have utilized the story a lot better IMO.

Yeah except then they couldn’t break past 85 until they hit the cap breaker and bought some VC.

They should rate NBA 2K the same as their player rating.

Can someone explain to me how I’m online mode, when I chose tier 3 teams I have to pick the worst in NBA and then get matched up against Lakers, Clippers and Jazz?

I don't understand why a basketball game is released before football season starts. What's the rush? Especially considering the game is always buggy as hell out of the box.

This game is trash. I uninstalled it tonight and am selling the shit this week.

From server issues to MyPlayer VC bullshit to my last name being considered “foul language” for the first time ever, NBA 2K20 made such a horrible first impression with me that it permanently damaged my interest in the series from here on out. I’m reinstalling NBA Live 19 in its place, though I might just stick with NBA JAM On Fire Edition for when I need a hoops fix.

The only saving grace here is that I paid for this trash in store credit and GameStop points, so it doesn’t sting as much as it might’ve had I paid cash. Lesson definitely learned, though; 2K just fouled out with me.

Didn't EA release updated rosters for 19 since they're not releasing Live 20? If so, I'm going to give it a try too via EA Access when the actual basketball season starts and it's not 95 degrees out.

yes they did release a roster update right after free agency. The one season mode is pretty good. the game isnt bad its the best nba live so far.
Honestly I think they will just do a big revision update the live 19 and call it 20. which is pretty cool cause its usually $5 on sale lol.
