NBA Finals 2016 |OT| - The King demands seconds. The Chef delivers.

Physically he would fit perfectly, but there are big questions about how good a defender he actually is other than weakside blocks. Also a terrible passer who had a whopping 29 assists this year.

This is kinda specific / tough to find, but Warriors need someone like that physically who's also willing to play third or fourth fiddle on offense and is intelligent defensively.

Warriors basically need Bogut and Ezeli to find fusion earrings so they can meld into one player

Harrison is going to be looking to move to a bigger market where he can expand the Black Falcon brand.

It's the right move for him. He's already about to have two rings as a starter (for the most part). Time to go get some money and join a team where he can be in the top 3 featured players.

I can't believe players like Iguodala, Livingston, Barbosa were just floating around the league, waiting to be picked up. Someone who could play great D (on Lebron even), score, handle the ball in Iggy. Just feels like they have a real potential for their bench in mind, while most of the league is just filling a roster spot.

iggy don't belong in that category.

One thing I'm curious about is why does the hockey regular season/playoff threads get so much more activity than the basketball threads (multiple OTs for each) while the NBA finals threads demolish the Stanley Cup threads in activity. Are there just not as much dedicated NBA fans here and people mostly care about the finals?

I know in the past NBA GAF has gotten locked and banned pretty hard. Overall, NHL GAF is less flamey.

Ugh yeah those assist numbers are insanely bad. Seems tough to find that mix at the 5. I'm skeptical Howard is the answer either.

Here's hoping Ezeli somehow builds his BBIQ stat in the offseason.

1-2 years at 15-20 million each season, that'd be fair for Dwight from the warriors
they can just low ball too and say "do you want a ring, or get paid? If you pass we can just go after Whiteside or Biyombo as well.

Dwight wouldn't fuck up this team

Warriors can just throw the max at KD if they want, I'd rather get KD than sign Max Barnes

Why waste your time on Dwight? He is done. Just go after Marc Gasol or if you need a part time big Pau will do.

Dwight's not "done". He actually was pretty good last year, but the cloud of fuckery and bullshit in Houston sort of overshadowed that. He's not a franchise guy by any means, but he can still be an impact player, probably for at least another couple of seasons, which is exactly what would be asked of him in Golden State. Not be the franchise guy. Not be the 2nd or even 3rd guy. I think, even if he doesn't want to admit it, that role suits him perfectly. Hell Dwight is probably about as done as Marc Gasol, who is also on the wrong side of 30 and has long term health question marks of his own.

This match up as it's gone so far makes the whole thing so sad..... oh well.

Maybe the game is just not physical enough anymore, it allows the finesse of GS to dominate even more. Maybe.

Crazy times. I feel bad for BronBron and I usually hate BronBron. Lol.

Also Kyrie got to l2pass man, stop being an iso scrub. Everyone knows you gud dawg, start being a point guard though.

Has anyone posted this?

I just saw it in real time and Iggy kept talking for another 5 seconds until the camera had to follow the the game to the other side of the floor.

edit: He's STILL talking to her. I wish someone had a newspaper brought down to the bench to have one of the players read it theatrically like Rodman back in the day.

seemed more business like than anything. at least a lot more classy than that girl licking her lips at curry lol

Lol. This dude is trash outside of a few moments here and there. If I was him, I would thank god teams are desperate that almost guarantees him a max contract.

While I don't post in NBA threads, I think I can give something of an answer.

Its mostly a combination of things, like most of NBA-Gaf getting purged (as stated earlier), the NBA being a far bigger draw to the causal crowd than the NHL, and the teams participating in their respective finals.

The NBA Finals has the two biggest teams with the biggest stars in the league currently, which no doubt would drive discussions and arguments from both diehards and casual fans alike.

The Stanley Cup Final currently is pitted between Pittsburgh and San Jose, the latter not being particular known in the "mainstream" despite playing in the Bay Area, a large media market. Plus with the Original Six and Canadian teams out, there's really not much there for fans of those teams to watch the finals outside of the usual diehards of the sport. On a more GAF-like level, Penguins fans here on the forum have a reputation of being incredibly obnoxious when the team does very well, often grating on the nerves of every other fan of their respective teams (more so fans of their rival teams like the Rangers and the Flyers).

Hope that helps.

Harrison Barnes Max from Lakers I'd so inevitable unless he'd rather go to philly lol

HB is a role player with a 3. He's invisible and has less likes than I do for an IG post if we're talking today. Seriously, I don't even post much.

But for real, HB doesn't do much in the games and he'll be a case study if he commands somewhere near max. He's so obviously uplifted by his peers/colleagues.

"But this time it will be different!" they said.
"Bron got a healthy Kyrie and Love this time!" they said.

I never been so unmoved about a finals game 3 and it's largely because of the above narrative that cavs fans have been pushing for an entire year only to get blown out in spectacular fashion in two games all the while having most people hype up the cavs' talent dude to their playoff run through the east.

I genuinely won't be surprised whatever the outcome of game 3 is. On one hand if Cavs win it's like great, you finally decided to show up. On the other hand if Warriors win it's no surprise given they've outmatched and outplayed the cavs for a solid year.

I agree with Stephen A that if Warriors win game 3 then it's gonna be a sweep as the cavs are very likely to check out psychologically and emotionally in game 4 but if warriors do win game 3 i kinda want them to lose game 4 both to drag out the suffering a bit more while also allowing them to celebrate their finals victory in Oakland.

Iguodala wasn't some forgotten player that no one wanted, he was an all star the year before he signed with the Warriors. As for Livingston he finally got healthy and put it together for the Nets before he signed with the Warriors because the Nets didn't have the cap room to keep him if I remember correctly.

Green starred at Saginaw High, but he was mocked mercilessly because of his pear-shaped frame, which earned him the nickname Dancing Bear at Michigan State. “People told him, ‘You’re too fat, you’re too short, you’re too slow,’ ” Spartans coach Tom Izzo says. “I’m the one who told him half those things.”
Coach Izzo a sav.

As much as a sweep would be nice, I'd like GSW to win at home. Not only so they can celebrate with their fans, but also so we don't have to repeat the pathetic scene of Cavs fans sticking around after the game, expecting a LeBron FMVP as a consolation prize, then booing when someone from the actual winning team gets it.

If Love is out, I need the Warriors to win game 3 so Bill Simmons won't beat the greasy spot of a former dead horse of the "Ewing Theory" further into the ground.

Yeah, I looked, and was wrong about that. It felt like Warriors have accurately grabbed nba talents whose relevancy had begun to fall off some, and put them in the perfect situation to succeed and contribute, I suppose is what I was referencing. In Iguodala's situation, I remember him leading the Sixers, then his role in the league got fuzzy for me. But in actuality, he put up pretty comparable numbers on Denver to his later Philly days.

Warriors finding him this Manu Ginobli type role was pretty brilliant. And making Bogut an anchor for this team, completely changed his career trajectory, than if he stayed with the transitioning Bucks. It's rare to see a team take a talent that's kind of out there in the league, and perfectly use them after acquiring.

Warriors aren't paying Dwight 20 million. He would need to accept half that to join them. Saying that, he would actually be a great fit for them, esp since there's rumors of the FT rules for hack-a-Shaq being changed in favor of bigs.

Even Bogut was a rising star though, the only knock against him was that he couldn't stay healthy.

Warriors were able to get Bogut from the Bucks because he was broken and every GM knew it. That elbow injury completely robbed him of his offense. It's why his shooting in general is so awkward and inaccurate.

Sounds like you don't get the Ewing theory. Which, I believe, is totally a real thing, and something me and my brother used to talk about long before BS put a name to it.

The idea is that when a team is considered a 'one-man team', despite having plenty of talent, then the other team members start feeling a little miffed by their lack of recognition. Then when that one guy goes down,
a) People realise that the rest of the team was naturally better than they thought, and were a large part of the reason why the 'one-man' of the 'one-man team' was so good, and
b) The rest of the team becomes super motivated to show what they can do on their own and
c) New, diverse tactics not just focused around one player are able to be used,
and thus the collective actually performs better without their best player than they do with him.

So, for that to apply here, it would have to be LeBron getting injured. If LeBron got injured early in game 3 and Kyrie and Love suddenly became inspired - free from LeBron's shackles, iso game and condescending looks - then took over the game and the Cavs won, that would be classic Ewing theory.

So I heard the Cavs players were all boozing it up during there stay in the city, and so much in-fighting back at the hotel....Kyrie and LeBron really don't get along after the game...
