NBA Offseason 2017 |OT| Only Big Ballers™ Allowed *please pay $495 to be a Big Baller

Ok, how does Indy take that over Kevin Love?

What the fuck?! I'm sure they could have called up the Cavs, and the Cavs would still say yes to that.

if they don't land Heyward the Celtics are sort of in a tough spot. They have a lot of prospects and assets for the future, but the current team is built around IT, Horcford, Smart, Bradley and Crowder. And by the time the young crew is ready, most of those guys are going to be too old/expensive. They might need to make some tough decisions.
And how does Hayward even fit with that current team anyway? Obviously better, but beat Cavs? Nah. Beat Warriors? Lmao. are you selling Hayward on waiting for a bunch of draft picks to develop?

They are in a situation where they can be a successful team and still get great draft picks. That's a good situation to be in. But I don't think many of the current players are going to be part of the Celtics 2.0 that might be a legit contender and is he result of all these draft picks. So Hayward really doesn't make a ton of sense.

One of them ain't on that team come February 2018

Fucking Oladipo and Sabonis got traded for Paul George, Smart/Crowder/and a pick wasn't good enough

I don't get how Smart/Crowder/a shitty 20s pick is some fantastic package. Smart is one year away from requiring a big pay day, and he's probably not better than Oladipo. Crowder's value comes mostly from his contract, which is nice, but I could see a team valuing a younger guy 1 year removed from being a lottery pick who has more team control.

OKC seems like a good place for George cause I don't think they're going to be good enough to convince him to stay. Plus he can work on recruiting Westbrook to LA.

Bron should just sit out the reg season and suit up for his final play-offs in the east.

Everything is now for 2018 and there is a shit FA market next year because everyone worth a lick with be a Laker at 12:01am 7/1.

Now is probably the perfect time to Tank in the East and pull a rebuild. I'm looking at you Toronto

No it's not. It's harder than ever to be bad, when so many teams are bad.

I love that Indy didn't want Kevin Love, but Oladipo and Sabonis for the same money as Love was somehow appetizing.

Hearing Jrue Holiday is giving consideration to signing with the Indiana Pacers. He has an offer from the New Orleans Pelicans

Wait no maybe the Pacers can make the playoffs in the East, that Holiday-Oladipo-Leaf/Sabonis-Turner core, mmmm

Free agency hasn't started, and:

1) The number 1 and 3 picks were traded
2) Jimmy Butler/Zach LaVine was traded
3) Chris Paul was traded
4) Ricky Rubio was traded
5) Paul George was traded
6) Blake Griffin has his deal basically done

And 2 hours until free agency officially starts

It's so so much better than someone who got nutmegged by a damn 11 year old and Sabonis

Smart's good when he ain't chuckin

Crowder is good and established

Better deal

Celtics offer on draft night for Paul George, per league source, was 3 first-round picks (not the Nets pick next year or the Lakers/Kings pick) and two starters (Crowder being one).

It's funny how deals involving Ainge always "leak" like this right.

So the West will have these major star groupings next year, competing for playoff spots

  • Curry - Klay - Durant - Draymond
  • Wiggins - Butler - KAT
  • Kawhi and Greg Poppovich
  • Harden - CP3
  • Westbrook - Paul George
  • Lillard - CJ - Nurkic
  • Jokic - Murray - Harris (unless Nuggets go for one of the multiple big FAs they're linked to)
  • Griffin and company
  • Rick Carlisle and his unlikely playoff runs
  • Mike Conley - Marc Gasol
  • Anthony Davis - DeMarcus Cousins

And maybe Hayward - Gobert Jazz.

This fucking conference...

this is fucked

aaaaaand none of it matters cause spurs and warriors are still way too good

Smart ain't that good. He really isn't. He just plays in a good system/team. He can't shoot or score efficiently for dick. Right now the one thing he has over Dipo is that he's cheap as fuck, and that's one year away from changing. Crowder is good and cheap and an established vet (even though he looked worse last season), but what appeal does that have to a team that's going to win 30 games at best next year? Sabonis was a lottery pick last season so taking a flyer on him isn't that crazy. Neither deal was great, but lets not act like the Celtics deal was overwhelmingly better.

Tank is the wrong word, i should have said develop. Now is the time to give your draft picks from 2 years ago some serious burn.

A la Delon Wright, Norman Powell, Bruno

Jaylen Brown should start for Boston.

I'd say it's more likely Westbrook drives George to leave and we have the George sweepstakes again next year. OKC gave their best assets for a rental.

They didn't give up a single asset. Oladipo is a mediocre player on a bad contract. This is worth every single risk there is because its not even a risk for them. If PG walks then whatever. If they win and he decides to stay then great. Fuck they could trade him -at- the deadline to the Lakers and get way more than what they just gave up.
