NBA OFFSEASON TALK- Where our favorite teams go shopping for tanks

Do you never learn Boogie?

Future Raptor, I'm calling it bros.

At the Jays game he apparently got a David Price Jersey after the game. David Price apparently said he heard KD told someone it was the best atmosphere he has ever been in. Come North KD.

And at the Exum news. It is tough, Jazz were going to be an interesting team to watch West. Sucks he won't be able to contribute for the team this season.

Cavs could re-sign Tristan Thompson to a 1 year deal.

"All I know is TT on Qualifying Offer will be his last year with the Cavs" -- Rich Paul on Tristan Thompson negotiations.

To clarify earlier tweet: Thompson negotiations are on-going BUT -- if he has to settle for QO offer, he will not return to Cavs in 16-17

Rich Paul is Loco for pushing this power play. No way is TT worth a max deal being a one-trick pony. (Even if he's great at that trick)

If he wouldn't accept 5 - 80 then they must be asking the moon. Some crazy team next year can offer him that. Real risky TT playing another year without the security blanket, Cavs could limit his playing time too, and hope teams keep the 14'15 season fresh in their minds.

if kanter can get a max deal in this market, i don't see why thompson shouldn't. i'd rather have his skillset than kanter's anyways.

I don't buy that this has to be done because *grumble grumble* it'd make LeBron upset.

LeBron hated being the villian, and his PR is at an all time high. Case in point, the original story was he wouldn't re-sign with the Cavs until TT got his extension, and LeBron pushed that aside and re-signed a couple weeks into July.

Yeah, TT is valuable to the Cavs, but you gotta draw a line somewhere and you can't give Max deals to 4 of your players, especially when one of them doesn't even start.

Thompson wants more then the 80 mil the Cavs are offering, which is what he thinks he can get next summer.

He's not worth either tho

TT will get a max deal on the open market next season if it comes to it. Look around, there's gonna be 15-20 teams with max level cap space for a not very deep FA class (Durant, Horford...and that's about it really). Someone will throw a Brinks truck full of cash at him.

Yeah.. But most likely the teams that will throw cash at him are those garbage teams that are not a threat to cavs anytime soon. Like if you add TT on a trash team cavs will still beat them because TT ain't all that. GS, Spurs, okc, heat, clips hawks won't sign him on that money.

Will the Cavs have any cap room next year after signing Mozgov to sign a player even close to TT's caliber? Because if not then it's not just about making another team better but also making the Cavs irreparably worse.

No one is going to give TT a max contract. He had a nice playoff run but let's not forget that Love will eat into his minutes as well as his rebound opportunities. I hope the Cavs call his bluff rather than overpay for a sixth/seventh man who gets under 30 minutes a game.

If TT doesn't get a max from the Cavs this year I'd be willing to bet he gets a max from someone next year before the cap jumps again.

I just can't see it in today's NBA. With the game shifting towards guards, someone paying TT the max just seems so crazy to me. Has there been any rebounding specialist that made max money? Seems like paying him the max is like paying Brian Grant the max. Crazy talk!

Flip has Hodgkins lymphoma :(

Heard on the radio... Damn it.. really hope he pulls through, I am worried he will work right on through the treatment when he should rest but obviously he has the best working on him.

This franchise just can not catch a break... lets hope he kicks cancers ass quickly.

You're gonna see it come next offseason if he's on the open market. Believe that.

Agree with everything, except some dumbass team with space will most likely throw a max offer at him.

Yeah, it'll hurt the Cavs since they can't really replace that salary unless someone like Sasha Kaun comes through. Still, they can't have all that money tied up into a backup with Love here long-term.

Well, good thing the Cavs got the Haywood exception, will need it now to find a TT replacement during the season or early next. Expecting him to just play on the QO now if the full 94 is all they'll accept.

Can Cavs tell him to fuck off? he have no suitor left, he can only sign with Cavs

He can sign a QO, ball his ass off in a contract year and cash in an even bigger deal next year. And their cap situation is so fucked they won't be able to replace him. Both sides have leverage.

If no one wanted him this year. no way he got the deal next year.

Just ride him for one more year, even if he means it.. Cavs certainly can win without him.

He was restricted. I'm sure plenty of teams want him but it didn't make a lot of sense to sign him to an offer sheet that Cleveland was sure to match.

Cavs pressured into luxury tax hell, surely team that wanted him could push their luck to get him "cheaper" if he hot commodity?

I mean several team chasing Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, their team even gonna hold them with much more effort than Cavs would do for Tristan.

Nobody actually offered them anything because it was a foregone conclusion that they would resign. Same with TT. If anything there was less reason for TT to sign an offer sheet. His best bet might be to play out a QO, have a contract year and cash in next year.

Markieff Morris has made it clear that he wants no part of playing for the Phoenix Suns after the team traded his twin brother, Marcus Morris, to the Detroit Pistons this offseason.

"One thing for sure, I am not going to be there," Markieff Morris told the Philadelphia Inquirer on Tuesday. "If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. I don't give a [freak]. I am not going to be there at all. That's just what it is."

"If you are going to do something, do it," Markieff told the Inquirer. "The GM (McDonough), I've been there longer than him, the coaches, everybody. I've been there the longest, and I don't get the respect to be like, 'Yo Keef, we are going to trade your brother. You are our future power forward.' I'm the future power forward. I'm the premier player of the team. … That's just how business is done I guess."

Saw that Dallas will be at the Clips for the opening game, I don't see how that's even exciting when the Dallas crowd reaction is what people want to see.
