What's up with the Tmac deal? Now the Magic GM is saying that 7 teams are in the Tmac sweepstakes.... Rocket fans... you are sooooo close.... yet still so far....

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.
Thats all a smoke screen...

Tmac wants houston so he will go where he wants.
Francis doesnt want Orlando so they will trade him.

So Both Tmac and Francis will get what they want....thats the way the NBA works now.

Steve Francis didnt want to go to Orlando, Orlando got cold feet and started to talk to other teams, now ESPN is saying after Francis talked to Orlando he might be willing to play there but now the Suns are close to stealing McGrady away from Houston.

I love this ga...er offseason.

Oh yeah, then this popped up

Isports radio 690 in southern Cali reports that Francis's agents are in talks with Portland to include them in a 3 way deal which will have Francis going to Portland and Shareef Abdul Raheem and Damon Stoudamire going to Orlando. The rest stays the same. this 3 way deal was at the request of Francis's agents and they were granted permission by Orlando to negotiate with Portland

hmm... maybe... but if the Magic get a great deal from someone else... (Pacers, and yes even the Suns Shawn and Joe Johnson might be a better deal for the Magic) even if Tmac won't sign there again next year that is the other team's problem not the magic... I am sure Tmac saying he only wants to sign with the Rockets long term has scared other teams but it by no means makes it so the Magic can't trade him to any team that offers them the right package... besides I can see them not trading with the Rockets because of the possiablity that they might not be able to get good value for "the Franchise".....

You have good points, but as far as the Pacers they're out of it too_Orlando wont return their calls and rumors of pacers trading players to other teams have surfaced.Oh well,we are all just speculating out of our asses right now anyway...we will all have a better idea come draft time :)

The Magic need to pull the trigger on a deal... so they can decide on who they want to draft... punks...

LOL this thread is great.

This offseason is crazy and its just getting started. I wonder how much wheeling will surround the draft, probably not too much if it is weak.

But still, it makes me wonder if Petrie can pull another Bibby/Williams ;)

Ugh,too much T-Mac talk...need more Philly love!!

We don't need to trade AI,we need to get some people in to help him,get rid of the fuckin old men like Coleman and get some young blood in there =\

I like Korver,he has a sweet stroke, but he's no starter...an alright bench player when you need some points I guess...

Mainly I think its time for McKie,Snow,Coleman, & Robinson to go,I love Snow & McKie but there just not good enough compared to other PGs.Robinson is great when he ain't hurt, which isn't very often :p

Of the core team we have now,I like the prospect of Samuel Dalembert,I think in a year or two he could be a real force,he's athletic as hell, get'em tougher and he could be something special. And Willie Green has potential too as does Greg Buckner, but we really need to make a big trade to get someone in there to help AI a little bit.I'd love to have Antione Walker or someone like that, cuz I know we have no chance of getting anyone really big without trading Iverson, which I don't want :(

aha a fellow sixer fan. the way i see it we are stuck for the moment. for all the good Larry Brown did and does as a coach it was his brilliant idea to extend and over pay mckie and snow. these guys are grossly over paid and mckie hardly ever stays healthy. wehave todd mcollough on the bench just collecting a paycheck cause he refuses to retire even though it is known he wont be able to return. we have coleman and robinson who are plagues on D. this team at its heigh was build around AI and good solid D. even under LB we effectively traded our best D player...ratliff and other solid defenders in lynch and bruce bowen. now what we have left is guys who are overpaid, underperform, and dont play a lick of D. i dont know how they can get rid of these huge contracts cause no one besides AI is trade bait and i do not believe they would get fair value in return for AI. he isnt old yet IMO and we can still rebuild around him if we try.

forgot to mention that even with all of what i said this team missed the playoffs by a game or two with the coaching problems we had and AI being injured at the end of the season. so it isnt like we do horrible this season coming up...with obrien at the helm we should be better than last season. i agree on dalembert, korver, and green. we have a good young nucleus...i would add kenny smith to that also. we need to keep those guys no matter what.

Someone clue this newbie in...

Why is everyone posting fake trades and then in bold

TRADE ACCEPTED.

What is the point of this. And why confuse me with the words "trade accepted" if this is a fictional trade.

WTF is with these players? Don't any of them have any confidence in themselves? It seems they are all only willing to go to another team if they get a dominat big man, max salary, great coach, etc. If you need to be babied to that level and don't believe in your ability to take a lesser team to the next level (i.e. Duncan, Garnett) then honestly you aren't a superstar. Right now Kobe seems to be the only FA who thinks he can take any team to the playoffs just by himself, then again Kobe also thinks a halfcourt fadeaway is a high percentage shot, but still he at least has the confidence of a superstar. You definitely can't say that about TMac who is looking like he is going to be the next Pippen, unlimited talent but zero heart. At least Stevie has the excuse that he sucks ass, so it isn't that embarassing that he won't go to a shitty team, but there is no excuse for fucking Shaq. Shaq is supposedly the MDE and if he can back that up he should be able to turn any team into a title contender the way Duncan can, just shows he doesn't have it either.

Heh, hard to argue...Kobe's arrogant to a fault, but at least he isn't demanding that he goes to a perfect situation already setup for him, at least that we know of.

LMAO. man i remember when he was drafted by the sixers..i bought his FILAS...i used to worship him. i used to think he would be so amazing. i think its fair to label him a bust ala marcus camby.

I guess, though at least Camby has the injuries as an excuse. Stack is just another victim of the Jordan curse...shot his mouth off about playing against him, and Michael humbled his ass.

I liked calling him Erry Stackhouse... because he has no J!

But he is not a total bust... the guy can still have some big games... He is a little of a John Starks type of player (with much less heart) shows up for some games... and is gone for others...

stack is a regular season performer...I say this as a pistons fan who watched him choke like jenna jameson during the playoffs.

Yeah but he helped them get there... I am not saying he is a great player by any means... just not a bust... is he the next MJ?...hell no! but is he a good 2? I'd say he is... will he help whatever team he is on (Dallas) I'd say yeah!

The last bit of speculation that I heard was that Stack would be moved to NY for Tim Thomas and some other pieces that could entice the Lakers to deal for Shaq without involving Dirk. Stack will never play a game for the Mavs, that much is pretty clear.

Edit: Er... make that Kurt Thomas. I can't keep all of these Knick Thomases straight... Tim, Kurt, Isiah....

Shaq didnt choke in the playoffs....Kobe and the team did. I thought it was clear that it wasnt Shaqs fault L.A. lost to the pistons. Not where they just plainly out classed but the team was not giving Shaq the ball.

Wrong! Shaq definitely choked throughout the entire playoffs by continually hurting his team by getting in foul trouble when they needed him, and who bailed them out you ask? Oh yeah, it was Kobe. Even when Shaq wasn't in foul trouble he was totally inconsistent and you can definitely see that the other Lakers have lost confidence in him, by the way Kobe gets more assists to Shaq then anyone else on the team. I agree that Kobe lost them the finals game, but as I have said like 8 bajillion times already in this thread he was the main reason they got there. They lost to the Pistons for 2 reasons:

1) Mainly because Old Man Malone was too injured to be effective.
2) Detroit came up with a defense that Kobe couldn't figure out.

As a Lakers fan I still want Shaq to stay there, because good big men are hard to find, but please lets stop with the fallacy that Shaq is somehow the reason behind all of the Laker's success. He can still dominate for brief periods, but his health, conditioning, and idiocy are all liabilities. Anyone that takes Shaq needs to have a decent backup center to give Shaq a rest when he gets tired and so that the team doesn't fall apart when he picks up fouls.

IMO if there is ONE reason that you can attribute to the Laker's loss it's the disparity in rebounding.

For most of the series Detroit dominated on offensive and defensive rebounding. Is that JUST Shaq's fault? No, though he does play an obviously large part in it, but he's not the only Laker that has rebounded and can rebound. OTOH EVERYBODY for Detroit was busting their ass when it came to crashing the boards. 2nd chances rebounds = more points for you.

Well Kobe could have done a lot more to get some rebounds, so he definitely shares a lot of the blame for that. I really think the main cause of that was Malone being injured though. The Lakers, like most Western Conference teams, were so loaded with their starters that if anything goes wrong to one of them the whole thing falls apart. Especially with Shaq and Malone because they have really no effective backups in a division that is loaded with frontcourt talent. At least with Kobe you can put in some decent players who can still contribute.

And when Shaq was dominant, he used to control the glass on the offensive and defensive end. He was so dominant that the other players didn't even try for offensive rebounds they just turned around and tried to prevent a fast break. The only mystery with Shaq is if this crappy play is caused by injuries or lack of desire (and excess of donuts).

lol, I knew about that, but I was just responding to what he said. Speaking of Stack, the guy has lots of talent but he is not consistent and seems to lack heart at times. Anyone who disputes his lack of heart just remember the whole drama around his knee injury where he didn't want to play ball even though his knee was fine and just wanted an early vacation. If the Wizards could get rid of Stack and stay healthy they could be a force....... in the East at least. :D

Bad move, unless it was to free up cap space next year. The guy is a cancer. Then again if this is his contract year I expect to see great things from Stack this year. And why on earth was this guy ever called the next jordan?

On a side note, I wish I was 19 again. :(

I went to the gym to shoot around after work yesterday and as I was about to leave a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids walked in and asked if I wanted to run in a game of 5 on 5. It was shocking how much speed and athleticism I have lost over the years. I mean I could still play with these kids and shut a bunch of them when I was defending them, but they just play the game differently then me and my 'old' friends do. They don't ever use their brains and always try to make every play with atheleticism. It was just sad for me to see what being 19 years old looks like on the basketball courts. :(

I wonder if it is possible to get it back? I am trying to get back into shape, but somehow I am starting to doubt I will ever get the first step I had when I was a teenager or the hops I had back then.

:(

Magic could turn Rockets deal into Allen and Butler
Added: 24th June, 2004 8:22 AM ET

Orlando Sentinel: "The much-anticipated trade of superstar Tracy McGrady to the Houston Rockets could bring both Seattle all-star guard Ray Allen and Miami Heat small forward Caron Butler, in one of several, multiteam scenarios still being considered by the Orlando Magic."

Sources have said that Miami and Seattle are onvolved with the Magic.

"The Magic have talked with Seattle about a Francis-for-Allen trade, also with lesser players involved from both sides."

"The Magic, at the same time, have talked to the Miami Heat about a trade that would send Mobley and forward Drew Gooden in exchange for Butler, their promising, second-year forward. Gooden has played especially well against the Heat in his career, averaging 22.7 points and eight rebounds per game against them last season."

So, it looks like the Magic are leaning towards the Roockets deal only to deal Francis to wanother team.

"In anticipation of getting Francis from Houston, the Magic also have talked to the Washington Wizards about a deal involving point guard Gilbert Arenas and former No. 1 pick Kwame Brown. Francis played his college basketball at the University of Maryland, and he would give the Wizards a much-needed public relations boost."

Fuck that. Stevie Franchise is not an improvement over Arenas. The Wizards should build their team around Arenas.
