That's the kind of players I enjoying watching the most. Plus my game is like that except my left is not as strong as my right and I can't dunk a regulation rim :p

Big men = BORING...

LOL, wait till you get an injury or you get older Konex, athleticism fades pretty quickly. I used to be an athletic (but not that flashy) player too, but one bad injury and you will learn to appreciate post up play, defense, and using your brain on the court. It is funny, I am not half as athletic as I was when I was in college and yet I am playing better defense now then at any other point and I am a much better passer too.

My advice to you and other people trying to have a injury free basketball life, stay away from the boards and don't play with fat, uncoordinated people. No matter how desperate you get for a game, stay away from the fat people. LOL, even though I don't know you Konex for some reason I get the picture that you never go for rebounds anyways (or play defense), so I think you are pretty safe. :D

LMFAO Lonestar.

Anyway, I've been a bucs fan since back when they had Dilfer in the Yuc colors. :(
I always liked Lynch. But I became a fan of the team. Sapp + Lynch + Brooks. How can you not love that in the defense?

Plus, I needed someone to keep up with while the Foilers were moving to Hickcity USA.
The move had been in the work for years and Chris Chandler (shudder) had erased my memories of Warren Moon. They move, and a year later...OMG SUPERBOWL...-_-

Fucking Bud Adams.

Uh oh

Dont tell Mig this...

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/story/203597p-175655c.html

Former Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich is emerging as a top candidate to replace Phil Jackson as Lakers coach if Jackson does not return, according to a source familiar with the Lakers' thinking.

Tomjanovich, who resigned as coach 13 months ago after being diagnosed with bladder cancer, owns a lifetime 503-397 record and coached Houston to back-to-back NBA titles in 1994 and 1995. He is regarded as a superb offensive coach who is well-liked by players and one who has first-hand experience relating to superstars, having coached Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen.

The Lakers believe Tomjanovich's personality would serve as a calming influence for Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, teammates who have feuded for years. Bryant will opt out of his contract on July1 but is likely to re-sign with the Lakers.

How are they the worst championship team ever? They dismantled an LA team that had been in 4 finals in the past 5 years and has 4 future hall of famers ( 2 of which are arguably currently the best at their respective positions). Also grandpa Karl wouldn't have made a difference, the end result would have still been the same, Detroit Pistons - 2004 NBA Champions.

No one knows what the end result would have been had the Lakers Karl. I said worst championship team ever because they don't have a single all star and there is almost no way in hell they will repeat. I mean they didn't even win their division. They just caught the perfect team for them at the right time. Do you really think Detroit would have had any chance against the Spurs? The answer, no way in hell.

Hopefully Kobe leaves, Shaq stays, and gets Rudy 2 more rings, then they draft a 7'5 Center out of Yugoslavia and him and Yao take the league by storm. 7'5 becomes the new "avg height" for Centers. 7'1 for forwards, 6'11 for SF-SG, 6'8 for PGs.

6'5 = too short for the NBA

I wouln't be too sure about that...

"I think we're going to keep Kobe," Kupchak said. "Part of that is based on conversations I've had with him. I've talked to his representatives. I think this is the place where he started his career and this is the place where he should end his career. I don't think any other city appreciates him as much as this one does."

Bryant faces a sexual assault charge in Colorado, with no trial date set. He could spend time in prison if convicted.

"We're willing to take that chance," Kupchak said.

Kupchak said the Lakers will offer Bryant the maximum contract allowable, and wouldn't make a sign-and-trade deal even if he plans to leave.

"Kobe is just going to have to just go, because we're not going to trade him," Kupchak said. "I don't anticipate that changing. We're going to do everything we can to keep him."

O'Neal said following the finals that he was going to "take care of me," and didn't elaborate.

O'Neal has made clear his desire for a contract extension, which hasn't happened. He has two seasons left on his contract -- for $27.7 million next year and $30.6 million the following year. He can opt out after next season.

"He can dominate this game for years to come," Kupchak said. About possibly trading O'Neal, Kupchak said: "He has a lot to do with that as well. That would not be a good day in this club's history. We do plan to talk to him. Players do have that option (to demand a trade). We'll see what happens."

I bet Shaq is fuming lol

Team basketball mean anything to you?

Detroit = Rockets of 94-95. No one gave them any credit and then they go and kick Shaq's ass.

Damn, I will be fucking pissed at Shaq and Kobe if they can't play together. They will win the official biggest crybabies of all time award if that is the case. Kobe or Shaq needs to go "Jordan" on the other until one of them is subserviant (only took one week for Jordan to make Pipp his biotch).

Uh you are from Houston right? That team rode Hakeem's coattails to the championship. Overall they were really weren't that talented, but Hakeem was one of the best players of all time and that is why they won. He made every center in the league his bitch for 2 straight years, in fact Robinson never quite recovered from the beatdown he got. Who can you say about that for the Pistons? I mean they really have zero stars on their team and it is great that they won as a team, but mark my words they won't repeat next year because they just aren't talented enough. The ONLY team they dominated in the playoffs was a Laker team without a PF, that isn't a coincidence.

You're just not giving Wallace/Hamilton/Billups their credit. They may not be mainstream superstars...but Ben Wallace is damn well a star(The "Hakeem" of the Pistons if you will although not nearly as good as Dream). Hamilton has a way to go (Cassell), and Billups is up and down. (Horry)

The rest are role players that know their roles. And I was more comparing the fact that they get no credit than the actual "stars" on the team.

Houston repeated though, a true mark of a champion. I would be very surprised if this exact Detroit team ever wins another championship. Lets see if they prove me wrong, somehow I doubt it though.

Yeah you've got a point Detroit didn't have an all-star this year..........unless you count Ben Wallace. You remember Ben Wallace don't you? Starting center for the East's 2004 all star team, last year's defensive player of the year and this year's runner up, 2004 first defensive team and second team all-NBA. And why exactly does Detroit not have a chance of repeating? Other than Rasheed Wallace most of their team is signed for next season, and they have a fairly young nucleus.

In a final versus San Antonio, the Pistons would have stood a great chance.

I agree with every word in this post... People hating on Detroit are just bitter.. Even without Malone the Lakers still had 3 HoF players on their team.. and couldn't fade Detroit's D. This might be one of the best defensive teams we will ever see...

Winner.

Also, Rip Hamilton was touched by the hand of God.

Unlike the Lakers, I believe a bunch of Detroit's team (except maybe Rasheed) will return next year. Same as the Rockets. Although sheed may be gone, they still have Darko. Sure, now without any playtime he's shitty. But Larry Brown glued his ass to the bench. Only steve Kerr can come off of the bench with no play time and do anything significant. :p

Anyway, as long as Detroit's contract situation (in terms of years players have signed) is alright, I don't see them being a one hit pony.

Just now on TBDSS they showed a clip where Sheed's mom stops Kobe right before he starts boarding the buss, grabs him by the shin and tells him in a very jubilant tone:

"There's no party like a Detroit party"

LOL!!!!!!!!

comparing Wallace to Hakeem? Are you fucking high? The Dream is a hall of famer, top 5 alltime bigman. Big Ben might not even be one of the best 5 bigmen in the league right NOW. Wallace is a great player, but he's soooooo overrated right now its not even funny.

"Hamilton has a way to go (Cassell), and Billups is up and down. (Horry)"

I'm not comparing them directly...christ people. I mean in terms of how they contribute to their team. Wallace is a force inside and keeps players away from the paint. (Hakeem)

Wallace doesn't have the the defensive ability of Hakeem, but he is the best big defender in the league right now. The scoring is no fucking comparison though.

Come on people. Before 94, not many people gave Hakeem any credit. Sure, Houstonians knew he was great, but no one gave a shit about Houston til the titles and never gave them any chance. Same with the Pistons this year, no one gave them a shot against LA.

The comparison is moot because you're comparing a team with ZERO superstars to a team with one of the greatest players of all time. A better comparison to the old Rocket teams would be the Twolves or Spurs. KG and Duncan are very Hakeem-like in the way they make all the other players around them better. Wallace does none of that. And a "force inside"? The guy's offensive game is about as good as my grandma's. You could argue that he's not even the best player on his team. C'mon, how many people would say that about Hakeem on those Rocket teams? Like i said, he's incredibly overrated IMO. He's not much better defensively than Shaq (when he WANTS to play defense) or Duncan, he will just grab you a few more boards a game and maybe one more blocked shot, but considering he does nothing on the other end of the floor, while those guys will get you 25 points on 55-60% FG, i think the tradeoff isn't even comparable.

Big Ben is simply the new Dennis Rodman, minus the pyscho stuff.

DEFENSIVE force. Christ people.

defensive force? Shaq abused the shit out of him all series long, and Shaq wasn't even on top of his game like he's been in past Finals. Like Matrix said, he's just another Rodman type. He brings a lot of energy, goes balls out for every looseball/rebound, and is an athletic freak. But he's not anywhere near the type to be "THE man" on a championship team.

Supposed trade rumor here in Seattle:

Our #12 and Ray Allen for Chicago's #3 and Curry .....

I personally would love it, guards are a dime a dozen ... and we have a dozen. We need an averagely decent big man. Flip Murry and Luke Ridnauer <sp> as 1 and 2 Radmanovich or Rashard at the 3 curry at the 4 or 5. Then one more solid guy at the opposite of curry.

What do you guys think ?

I wouldn't say he abused him any worse than he did the dream... no one alive can stop Shaq... But the fact that Ben can go one on one with him at times say a lot about his D and the faith Larry Brown has in him... Not having to throw the double team at Shaq gives a team a lot of breathing room for defending the rest of the Lakers....

I am from Seattle... and I don't like it... I know we need to do something... but I don't think that's it... We don't really need to get younger and that is what we would be doing if we traded for the #3.. unless they have their eye on a free agent then I can't say I really like the move that much

But he didn't... that's the main point..... Big Ben's D was good enough to make Shaq work like he had the double team on him... making him more useless than he usually is on the defensive end...

I hear ya, I just never have thought Allen fits in here at all. And for the money I'd much rather see Flip, Luke, Antonio, and Brent on the floor. I sometimes wonder about Allen's wok ethic. Seems to take plays off alot.
