I hear ya, I just never have thought Allen fits in here at all. And for the money I'd much rather see Flip, Luke, Antonio, and Brent on the floor. I sometimes wonder about Allen's wok ethic. Seems to take plays off alot.

I really like Allen.. I'd rather see them move Lewis... (enen though we share the same birthday)

I am not a real fan of quasi small/power forwards... is he big or is he small?... he's both!! yay!!

LOL I can't stand Lewis, exactly the same reasons. However I would like to see them move all of thier big men, Lewis and maybe Ray if it was worth it. GL finding any one dumb enough to take one of our big guys. I like how they left Booth, James and Potapanko <sp> unprotected for the expansion draft lol. PPPPLLLLLEEEEEEEEAAASSSEEE !!!!! take one or two of them !!!!! (preferably James)

And oh ya, I do like Reggie Evans, just needs someone to help him out down there.

If we could find a scoring big man (if I said if...it is a dream, but right now that's all us Sonic fans have) then Evans would be the perfect fit... because he doesn't even want the ball unless it is a rebound... I think Ray is a good fit on the team if we found a slashing 3 or a posting 4 or 5... I just hope they make some moves.. Seattle teams have a bad habit of letting deals happen without them until the last second and then they do something lame in hopes of pleasing the fans

I expect the Kings to sign some unknown role player, who will be a big surprise during the season and then be left out of the rotation for the playoffs as the team falls short again.

I keep hearing Chris Anderson from the Nuggets.

As for Kobe trade rumors, my money is him being traded from the C block Raiders to the County Ward Marauders for 10 packs of cigs.

They won 4-2 but they didn't "dominate" Indy at all. Besides one, pretty much every game Detroit won could have gone either way. Hell, Indy even blew them out in game 4...

LOL IBTN.

In all actuality I expect the kings to do much better next season (especially if they can all stay healthy) A lot of people will call BS, but the Kings ouwld not have been eliminated by the Wolves if BJackson wasn't out.

I think that as webber gets more mobility he will meld better with the offence, but fundamentally he is a changed player now, and it will be his ability to adjust to that that history will judge.

Peja needs to do something, anything to get out of his playoffs rut, I know our offence (intended) wasn't setting him up properly but the guy just disapears in the playoffs. A while back people turned their noses up at a spreewell peja trade, who would you have rather had in the playoffs this year?;)

I like him a lot, one of the purest shooters in the game, but he needs to learn how to deal with the big game preassure or pack his bags unfortunately.

I like etiolates call, this team stays intact and will "surprise" a lot of people if they can stay away from injuries. the big "?"is still valde, does he sign a one year, and play off the bench? He still has game, but he just doesn't have the stamina for starter minutes.

Supposed trade rumor here in Seattle:

Our #12 and Ray Allen for Chicago's #3 and Curry .....

I personally would love it, guards are a dime a dozen ... and we have a dozen. We need an averagely decent big man. Flip Murry and Luke Ridnauer <sp> as 1 and 2 Radmanovich or Rashard at the 3 curry at the 4 or 5. Then one more solid guy at the opposite of curry.

What do you guys think ?

I'll make it my personal mission to hunt down and murder Wally Walker if he makes that trade. Ray Allen, to put it bluntly, is the best two guard in the WC. If you don't agree with me, I don't give a shit, I know I'm right. Anyway, bionic, STFU with your "Lakers got beat by a sorry ass championship team" spiels. They didn't get beat, they got fucking OWNED. Now, if each game were close, and Malone could have factored in, then you'd have a point.

LOL, I never disputed the fact that the Lakers got bitch slapped by the Pistons, I was just giving my opinion that I don't think they have a snowball's chance in hell of repeating. The Laker's chances are looking pretty dim too with their financial situation without even adding in the drama of the Shaq and Kobe story. And by the way, the Lakers got owned by everyone all season without Malone, this isn't a new situation. I believe they were like 16-19 or something without Malone, they actually had a better record without either Kobe or Shaq then without Malone. Still, no one is going to give a fuck about this in a few more weeks, people will only remember that for one year at least Detroit was the champ. Just like no one is going to care about how bad the Kings suck without Jackson or how much the Wolves missed a PG or how much the Pacers missed a healthy Oneal and a real PG. Amazing how many serious injuries to marquee players have happened in the playoffs over the last few years and it is often made worse because teams can't afford to have a backup to a star player. Actually, Detroit had some huge injury problems last year too and this year Wallace was not healty for almost 2 series until the bastard got healthy enough to rape my team in the finals. :(

LA Times this morning :

Kupchak said something to the extent of "We will not trade Kobe." They will do everything in their power to keep him, and will even let him walk away - but they will not trade him.

Shaq on the other hand, sounds like the Lakers are listening to offers though according to the article.

Shaq on the other hand, sounds like the Lakers are listening to offers though according to the article.

"Laker General Manager Mitch Kupchak said Thursday he would not accept a sign-and-trade offer for Kobe Bryant under any circumstances — a hard line against the likes of New York Knick General Manager Isiah Thomas and Bryant agent Rob Pelinka — but might be forced to listen to bids for Shaquille O'Neal. A sign-and-trade arrangement would allow Bryant to get maximum money over seven years and still leave the Lakers."

"Asked if he'd risk getting nothing in return if Bryant chose to leave the Lakers, Kupchak said, "He's going to have to just go." Asked why, he said, "Because we're not going to trade him. We're going to do everything we can to keep him." And if they can't, he said, "Well, we're not going to do a sign-and-trade."

If those articles don't sound like the Lakers have already determined which direction their future is headed i.e. away from Shaq then I don't know what does...

I wonder if Mitch will back off of that sentiment if he is faced with the real possibility of loosing Bryant and not being able to secure non-freeagent talent/pics in return.

I am going to make the assumption that the organization knows a lot about his case too and that factored heavily into the decision to go with Kobe for the future.

Think Mitch has already given Kobe assurances of which way the team is headed? Sure sounds like it. Jackson is gone, Shaq has claimed he'll go if he feels like Jackson was forced out. Thing is I think Jackson probably just wants to leave, he has to be tired of managing ego's and this year had to be the worst.

No, let me rephrase that. I agree that it appears the Lakers are heading towards reshaping themselves around Kobe. What I meant was, hypothetically, would Mitch change his tune if Kobe really did want to leave. I used the word real instead of something like "if he ultimately found himself faced with the possibility.

But I think you are right that they will try and reshape themselves around Kobe. That is who I would pic. Shaq is on his way down the final streatch of his career, Kobe has a lot of time (potentially) left

Notice I said I was making an assumption. And I don't know anything about the case at all, but I am sure as hell more of an insider then you considering I graduate from law school next spring and have spent a assload of time at firms last summer and this summer (and part time during school) actually working on real cases.

Jerry Sloan's wife, Bobbye, died:

ESPN

SALT LAKE CITY -- Bobbye Sloan, the wife of Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, died Friday after battling cancer, the team said. She was 61.

Sloan, the coach's wife of 41 years, announced in January she had a malignant tumor in her pancreas, unrelated to the breast cancer she was treated for and fought publicly several years ago.

"She was such a positive, upbeat person," Jazz owner Larry Miller said Friday. "There was a lot of energy and strength of character with a really positive image. It's the image I hope that all of us who know here will keep of her."

Jerry Sloan considered leaving coaching to be with his wife, but she wanted him to continue coaching. He finished the season, guiding the Jazz to a 42-40 record that left them just short of the playoffs.

After the season, Sloan said he planned to return for a 17th year coaching the Jazz, although that depended on his wife's health. He also said 2003-04 would be memorable more for his life off the court than for the team's accomplishment.

Miller said he received a message from Jerry Sloan during a meeting Friday that Bobbye had died at the Sloan's southern Illinois farm. That is where the couple spent most of the offseason, and near where they grew up and were high school sweethearts.

He said Sloan would have all the time he wants to decide whether to continue coaching.

"I'm not trying to anticipate what he'll really wind up doing, but I certainly hope he'll stay with the team," Miller said.

Miller had not spoken with Sloan and planned to give him some time with his family, who were with him Friday.

Bobbye Sloan was diagnosed with breast cancer after Utah's 1997 NBA finals loss to the Chicago Bulls. She fought and won a very public battle with the disease, but had been ill before the January announcement with flu-like symptoms.

Funeral plans were pending.

Bobbye Sloan is survived by her husband, three children and eight grandchildren.

Well I think we're all going to know alot more about the outcome of this case real soon. The judge found something in the text messages from the girl and now defense and prosecution have been given access to the text messages... I'd expect well see some leaks about the content of those messages before too long.

ESPN.com news services

The Lakers are Kobe's team, should he decide to stay.

That's becoming increasingly obvious every day.

But Bryant opted out of his contract Friday and will become an unrestricted free agent July 1, ESPN has learned.

Bryant was among several Lakers players who went through season-ending exit interviews Friday with general manager Mitch Kupchak and coach Phil Jackson.

Bryant wouldn't comment afterward except to say: "Have a good summer. Thanks for everything," as he shook hands with a couple reporters before leaving the Lakers' training facility.

Bryan has had his differences with Jackson and fellow superstar Shaquille O'Neal over the years.

In addressing reporters Thursday, Kupchak said the team intends to do whatever it can to keep Bryant. Having opted out of his current contract, Bryant could sign a seven-year deal worth around $140 million with the Lakers.

O'Neal canceled his scheduled exit interview Friday, apparently upset at remarks made by Kupchak, who left the door open to trading the star center if he demanded it while saying Bryant would never be traded.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein has learned that the Lakers' big man, who can opt out of his contract after next season, has demanded a trade.

Derek Fisher, who can also opt out, said after his exit interview Friday he was uncertain about Bryant's future as well as his own.

But Fisher did make a few salient remarks concerning Bryant.

"I think he has a lot of say-so in the way the situation is going to turn out, and rightfully so," Fisher said.

That's assuming Bryant doesn't go elsewhere.

"I think he is going to take his time," Fisher said of Bryant, who still has to deal with sexual assault charges in Colorado, with a trial expected to begin later this summer.

"I think Kobe has a really strong desire to accomplish a lot more things as a player," Fisher said. "He owes it to himself to make sure every possible scenario is set up for him to play at a higher level than anybody's ever seen.

"I think he has every intention of wanting to come back. He wants to make sure it's in the right setting."

Fisher had until Saturday to make a decision regarding his contract situation, but it was extended to next Thursday. He will earn $3 million with the Lakers if he doesn't opt out.

"There's a lot of emotions right now," Fisher said. "I talked to my agent 20 times yesterday trying to figure out what to do, how to make the decision."

That was before the date was extended.

"I think Derek has got a lot of value," said Fisher's agent, Mark Bartlestein. "We're going to try to come up with a deal that pays him what he's worth."

Bartlestein wouldn't elaborate.

"At the root of it, there's no question about me wanting to be here," Fisher said. "This is my life, basically, for eight years."

Fisher joined the Lakers in 1996 -- the same year as O'Neal and Bryant.

Fisher and Bryant joked and exchanged hugs as they left.

"There are so many question marks regarding our future, the total direction of this team," Fisher said. "I don't want to make a decision just to please everybody. Basically, this decision determines the rest of my career."

Fisher said Kupchak told him he would love to have him finish his career with the Lakers.

"That says a lot," Fisher said. "There's no question the Lakers would love to have me back. I would love to be back. Hopefully we can find some common ground. Business is business."

Fisher could opt out and sign with the Lakers and return for substantially more money. He has also made it known he wants to at least be able to compete for a starting job. Gary Payton joined the Lakers this season and took Fisher's starting job.

Payton has a deadline of next Wednesday to opt out of his contract or return and be paid $5.4 million next season. Payton refused comment following his exit interview Friday.

Karl Malone, who opted out of his contract Wednesday, is expected to learn the severity of the knee injury he sustained during the finals in the next couple of weeks.

"They've got to let the swelling go down," Malone's agent, Dwight Manley, said Friday. "The Lakers have so many other issues going on, it's probably good for Karl to sit back and see what's going on before he decides what he's going to do."

Malone, who turns 41 next month, has said he would only play with the Lakers and only if he's 100 percent healthy.

BTW, P-Jax is officially out. Things are getting intersting lol

One source told the paper that the Magic have asked the Pacers for as many as four players -- Ron Artest, Jonathan Bender, Al Harrington and Jamaal Tinsley -- in return.

Yeah. Good luck on that one, Orlando.

About LA, though...am I the only one surprised by Shaq asking for a trade? I expected Kobe, Karl, and Phil to be gone, but Shaq kind of came out of the blue.

It seems Shaq NOT being extended is one of Kobe's conditions for resigning. Obviously Shaq will come out and ask for the trade now cos no way he gets that money when his current deal is up (35 years old)....

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - The Zen Master is done coaching the Los Angeles Lakers (news) and his two biggest stars could be leaving, too. Phil Jackson, one of the most successful coaches in NBA history, won't return as coach of the Lakers, the team said Friday. Meanwhile, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant took steps that could have them playing elsewhere next season.

A team source told the AP on condition of anonymity that O'Neal had requested a trade. And as expected, Bryant became an unrestricted free agent, opting out of his contract.

Jackson, who won three straight championships with the team, agreed with Lakers owner Jerry Buss to end his tenure as coach. Buss offered Jackson another position with the organization, which Jackson will decide whether to accept soon, the team said in a statement.

TMac to Houston...I still don't know about giving up Francis/Mobley/Cato though.

Although, if we can get Howard or Gooden out of the deal, I'd take it.

1. Trade TMac/Howard for Francis/Mobley/Cato
2. Sign McDyess to the veteran's minimum (1 mill)

C - Yao/Howard
PF - Taylor/McDyess
SF - TMac/Nachbar/Padgett
SG - Jackson/Piatkowski
PG - uh.......Mike Wilks/Mark Jackson? BOMB BOMB
