I never said useless, I said easy mode on a Soulsborne. Some people think it's a necessity. I think it defeats the purpose of discussions.
Even console warriors bring decent information from time to time.

I've been scrolling past posts and threads that I felt were either stupid or didn't interest me for well over a year. I've also reported users who I felt were breaking the rules, some of which were warned/banned by the staff. These are features designed to be used by the community to make your individual experience browsing the forums better, if you feel it is necessary - it is optional afterall. ^ This. 100% I must admit I'd been fairly oblivious to the level of fanaticism fuelling these people, but after I had the audacity to suggest that maybe TLOU2's storyline wasn't all that (which a lot of other people seem to agree with) all manner of Sony zealots loomed up to defend the honour of Neil Druckmann & Naughty Dog. It was a bit of an eye-opener as to just see how demented they are. and wholly Incapable of conceding it's a story poorly told in any capacity. Their entire world view on the qualities of games is seemingly dictated wholly by its relationship to a piece of Logo'd future landfill, and anything first-party apparently is not only beyond reproach but also represents the very pinnacle of all gaming can be as a medium across the board. The amount of 'GOTG' comments getting thrown down for what is ostensibly an on-rails, 3rd person actioner with some light stealth, puzzling and a Storyline that is one long ButWhy?.Gif at the end of the day makes me wonder whether they ever play anything beyond what Sony dole out to them.
I don't know. After the MS Zenimax Buy-out One Note started wailing on PCMR for some bizarre reason with some fairly retarded commentary tbh. He and his ilk seem to possess some truly antiquated ideas about the state of PC Gaming that are so out of wack from everyday reality that it's kind of hard to take anything they say seriously because it seems fuelled by a desire to solely big up their own platform of choice to the detriment of reason.

I would imagine One-Note likely had been racking up some marks against his name and he tipped over the edge. It's a week ban, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things. He at least might learn from it, others in that list though....probably not.

The most annoying part of TLOU2 stans is if you criticize the game for telling, not showing, they respond with something akin to "So you want the game to spell every single thing out to you? What are you, a baby?".

I avoid TLOU2 threads as much as possible for that exact reason. You simply can't have an opinion in those threads, unless it aligns with theirs. Reading them from afar is a completely different story on the other hand.

About TLOUS2 conversation. I've follow some of goalmoves around the game. Some members bait you saying that the 'game director don't need to write a game based on what fans want', with is totally true, but no such argument was used except by those who defend the game.
Directors don't need to create what fans want, but thats don't mean they can write a bad script.
Such argument was used as well by the creators of the recent Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Refusing to take critics about the game, they went so far at the point of saying that gamers were tired of killing Nazis.

They can write their stories however they want stories and we decide if we like it or not and even criticize it and its their choice to listen to our criticism if they want. But I just don't like the idea fans telling the developers how they should tell their stories.

Agree, they can make whatever they want, but thats not mean they're immune to criticism. Just don't fall into that premisse. When we talk 'we' is about the people who play, not the reviewers.
I don't like the ideia of fans telling the devs what to do as well, but unless they're open to talk, we can't confirm if what they're writing already take fans into consideration.

Oh yeah we can criticize it all we want, it our right as a consumer. Before TLOU2 coming out I said "I will judge the story myself" and I honestly also didn't like how they did their story and in fact I would say ND could take note from 13 Sentinels in how tell stories with multiple protagonist but at end of the day its their choice if they want to listen to my criticism or not.

I hated the complaints "it's too political" or a woman can't have muscles in the future. There are a plethora of issues to pick from but, at least ND tried to avoid a paint by numbers sequel. The main specific complaint I heard was bigot sandwich, one line in a 30hr+ game.
I did throw the comment that some posters critical of the game were phobic when they denounced a game as political without using examples. However defenders using it as a cheap shot to score points is bullshit "i.e. the story was a bunch of happy coincidences" must mean than you hate transpeople.
My biggest complaint was how Fat Geralt was done dirty.
