It was in response to the "We will get told about what to write and discuss and what not?" comment

I have no idea why the thread was closed other than the moderators were uncomfortable with it; just trying to use allusions and comparisons to get people into the mind set of why

While I could go directly to the point about this being a web site, current USA laws and policies, as well as societal views regarding public web sites (Being as I work in web hosting) I don't think it would do much in the way of the conversation, as some of the concepts have to do with how the technology actually works; it's easier to have the audience have that portrayed in concepts and terms they're familiar with

Okay, but that doesn't change the fact that you're conflating some moderation with none; we can be told not to post wild conspiracy theories, we have been, and that's cool with me, I don't do that anyway. But there's no notice about not posting the kind of things that were posted in the grievance world thread, which include satirical Tweets from someone the owner of this website has previously lauded, an incredibly widely held opinion on trans people in sports, and... that's about it?

I get your spoilered reasoning, but frankly there's an enormous difference between what we've seen people rightly ousted for recently and what was being posted in that locked thread, and it really needs more concrete clarification on what's wrong.

Again I would say a 226 page thread which became almost exclusively a place to shit on as elect handful of people, is very different from what was just closed. I've even posted in that thread before and I understand exactly why that one was put to rest.

But no, not at all brother, strength through communication
