It still is one of the best things. People are still allowed to come here and argue for or against bans. Or simply just voice their opinion about whether or not a ban was justified. Several bans have been shortened or repealed here just recently. There is nothing remotely like this on any other sites that I frequent. The only way to discuss or argue a ban on most platforms is in private and often can only be made by the person who was banned. Nobody can lobby on your behalf. Gaf is unique in that way.This thread was the best thing about GAF post-split. Now it’s the worst. Compare the first 5 pages to the last 5. Nothing but gravedancers and sycophants now. Glad to seeO-N-E pardoned though. Whatever is going on now, I hope we can one day get back to the original spirit of this thread.
The problem is that several of the bans here in the last month or so were completely justified and people are upset to see people they knew or even considered friends go. They get heated. They may take it out on others or the staff and if they take it too far they can catch a ban too. Which starts a snowball effect. But it doesn't make the original decision wrong. Especially in cases where the offense was completely over the top and very much crossed a line.
