Preferred partner: Someone in the US
Likes: Strange candy
Dislikes: licorice, spicy candy
Allergies: cats

Will we be pm'd our partners user so we get all the details?

* Your country of residence USA
* Which country you would like to swap candy with. Anyone, but Asian and German are great
* Which candy you like Almost anything
* Which candy you dislike Dark chocolate, coconut ]/b](except coconut sprinkles, those are good)
* Which candy kills you on the inside, be it allergies or some sort of phobia. None

However, count me as tentative until I investigate shipping rates in the US. I can't afford $80 shipping or such.

As a general rule of thumb, I found it costs about 1.5x the cost of candy to do the shipping. So a good $20 package costs around $30 to ship.

It of course depends on the size, shape and quality of the candy you buy, and where you're shipping, but that's been about what I paid for the four swaps I've done.

I tend to send around $30 in candy/snacks, and it cost a bit over $40 for shipping. Be sure you look into flat rate boxes.

These links might be handy to add to the OP:

Okay, I've thought about it, and man I've really always wanted to do one of these, and being in China I have a lot of cool stuff available to share, but due to time and money constraints I'm gonna have to bow out of this :(

Hope everyone gets some awesome candy!

I was all in, til I read this. It makes me a little nervous; did that happen often in previous experiences?
The first time was great. LazyLoki was a great trade partner!

The second time (last year), with another poster, I was on a requested temp ban, but IIRC, I made sure I had all of the necessary details sorted via PM. I sent messages after I returned from my ban, and got nothing. I told him I had sent the package, gave the tracking number, everything. Radio silence on his end.

Don't let this dissuade you. I just mainly wanted to express my frustration.

Is Canada Post still on strike and if so, does that rule out Canadians from participating?
There was a special law that ended the strike if I remember correctly. I started to receive mail again so it must be over :P

Anyway, I am in! Missed it last year...

Country: Canada
Preferred partner: Europe/Asia/Australia (pretty much anywhere except Canada/USA)
Likes: sweet, sour, chocolate, something unique to your country. I'm not really difficult.

Happened to me last time too :/. Thanks again Einbroch for screwing me over.

It's really not a common thing though. First swap went fine and my brother (Babyhack) has had success both times. There tends to be only one or two assholes who get involved to screw people over. Don't let somebodies bad experience put you off because Candy Swapping really is an awesome thing.

Hi everyone again! Thanks for all the signups.

Regarding people who don't send or packages missing/opened/hijacked in customs, that rarely happens and we keep in mind those members who did not send anything. I also got hit by one of those on a double swap. The guy apparently never logged in or something, so who knows what happened.

We have a nice bunch of swappers already but there's still a lot of time to make this bigger.

Fuck the recession, candy is where it's at. DO IT!

By the way, when I messed up the first thread title and a mod was nice enough to take care of it, I also encouraged him to sign up but apparently no mods or admins ever want to be a part of this.

Come on, reds. You know you want to :P

Catmincer

Country: New Zealand
Preferred partner: Europe or Asia
Likes: Anything gummy or something "different"
Dislikes: Anything with HFCS in it, just wrong
Allergies: No nuts (Customs regulations)

Is there a list of those who are definitely 'in'? I've missed this for the last two years and I want to be sure not to miss it again.

That's odd.

LeaveItAlone

* Your country of residence UK
* Which country you would like to swap candy with. Anyone!
* Which sweets you like Anything fizzy/sour/chewy is ace
* Which sweets you dislike None
* Which sweets kill you on the inside, be it allergies or some sort of phobia. None

I always say I would do this, so I'll just go for it.

Swapper: ChocolateCupcakes
Country: USA
Which country you would like to swap candy with: Anywhere but the USA
Which candy you like: Chocolate, Gummies
Which candy you dislike: Coconut flavored, white chocolate
Which candy kills you on the inside, be it allergies or some sort of phobia: Macadamia nuts

Would love to get involved again, the last swap was a lot of fun! Unfortunately, I'm moving in August so timing isn't great. Next time, gaf, next time. Have fun swappers!

This sounds extremely hazardous so I guess I'm in!

Swapper: a1m
Country: Finland
Which country you would like to swap candy with: Japan, USA
Which candy you like: Jelly / gummy sweets, CANDY, pretty much everything except what's below
Which candy you dislike: Coconut, insects
Which candy kills you on the inside, be it allergies or some sort of phobia: None

This is gonna be expensive. Shipping overseas from Finland is freaking expensive but oh well.

Swapper: 898
Country: USA (CA)
Which country you would like to swap candy with: Japan (swapped with Australia previously)
Which candy you like: dark chocolate, nuts, (pea)nut butter, caramel, toffee, "rich" flavors, cool/dumb trinkets from your country
Which candy you dislike: liquorice
Which candy kills you on the inside, be it allergies or some sort of phobia: None

I had a great time previously and am ready to make another trip around the world.

Seriously people, heed the warning about shipping costs. I loaded up a relatively small box full of candy and it cost more to ship from USA->Australia than the candy cost. >$45

Thank you J. M. Romeo

From: USA (Florida)
Would like to swap with: Outside of USA. Preferrably Europe but doesn't matter

Allergies: None.

I've always wanted to be part of this, thanks for setting this up!

I would take part, but I have been told that is extremely expensive to send candys from my country ( o receive them) I don´t remember well :/

Wow, I really want to do this but I dont have enough cash.

If you are trading from Canada I have a suggestion:
clodhoppers.
I used to get them when the border was more open and the US dollar was stronger.

So good.

Okay, no. That is leading me to believe that there really is a drug laced in that. I'm thinking I should put addictive substances in dislikes. Maybe even in allergies.

Swapper: JLateralus
Country: USA
Preferred Partner: From anywhere else!
