Bayonetta 2 deserves the top spot, but the over-representation of Nintendo is laughable.

It was the transition year for both the PS4/Xbone so it's understandable that the Wii U came out on top.

In general though 2014 was a weak year aside from a few titles. 2015 is where it's at!

Smash and Kart stood on a lot of recycled material we saw 5-6 years ago. Toad was easy, hyrule was another typical musuo game (of which a large number of those games exist). Hardly new or quality stuff there

Oh my god at Nintendo just sweeping this year. I can say that I definitely contributed to that as by the end of writing my ballot, it was stuffed with Nintendo games. Part of that is due to me not having finished a few games in time (DA:I, FC4, Mordor) but aside from that when I really started to dig down into what I played this year and think about the quality of the games, it really was the Wii U that stood out.

I have to say that I'm overjoyed that Donkey Kong made the top 10, and even more so that it made it to #6. Good job GAF! I'm glad the game got some deserved recognition here after all the heat it got from its announcement until its release.

Congrats to Nintendo they indeed had the better year but ya'll need to buy some xbones the overall participation for them is pretty low, at least this year things would be very interesting for all platforms.

Fun thread to participate in as usual, big thanks to timetokill and Cheesemeister for all the work and impressive data. Humbled to be included in the quotes. Didn't seem like there was too much general consensus to rally around so a little surprised at the Nintendo domination at the top, interesting list for an interesting year. Will spend some time today going over writeups I missed and looking into recommendations, shoutouts to my affinity crew.

A shame that The Talos Principle didn't get a whole lot of votes. Guess I should probably expect that though being released so late into the year and being made by a relatively lesser known dev.

The Talos Principle is the one I most regret not getting around to, the timing and price made me pause. I expect it to get more exposure as it comes to new platforms and look forward to playing it this year.
