It's a flashlight for your phone!
That link didn't load anything.... not sure if serious.

Only 2.99 holy shit.

FUUUUUUUU. SO GOOD. but ugh, hate that it's not universal, paying twice is so lame.

Yeah yeah, I would buy it four times if I could buy iTunes cards easily where I live. Took me weeks to manage to get a $50 card and i'm trying to resist not spending it all so fast, but it's pretty hard.

I loved the old iPad twitter client, though, and this just looks like an enhanced version of that. I'd like to see it in action though. I really wonder what they have in store, all their apps are excellent.

whoa, can't wait to get an iPad in the future

The fact it is two separate apps is such a rip. Charge more for your app in general if it is an issue, but the whole idea of a universal app is to remove these shenanigans. Reeder does the same crap, as does Alien Blue.

If these were corporations, I would somewhat agree. But Reeder, Alien Blue, and Tweetbot are all run by either a single or a few individuals. It's their only form of income.

We are anticipating some of you wondering why the app is not universal so let me briefly explain. As you know, releasing quality software takes a lot of time. We anticipated working on the iPad version for around 3 months. It turned out to be over 6. We love what we do, but the bottom line is Tapbots is a business and the end goal is for us to make a living. We are just 2 guys at this company both with a family/kids to take care of. We also think charging $3 for each version is fair considering most of the other universal twitter apps charge more. If you don’t have an iPhone or iPad, you aren’t stuck paying more for a universal version.

I would normally agree, but the Tapbots folks have released universal apps in the past, at least Calcbot. I know I'm nitpicking, but I do enjoy the convenience of a universal app and would gladly pay more just to have one app.

The # of new tweets bar is great. Love how it flows with the stream now.

Calcbot was a simple one-off app though, Tweetbot would obviously take considerably more work and is something that has to be continually updated as Twitter changes their API's and adds more features etc. And supporting a possible Retina iPad in just a few weeks too.

I wish it was Universal as well, but I don't really mind in this case.

Speaking of Calcbot, I absolutely love that thing. It has literally saved my life on more than one occasion. The in-line clipboard feature is just superb.

They're one of the few app developers (non-gaming) that I stay on top of, just super clean stuff all around. I wonder what they'll do next?

Twitter for iPad heavily needed some competition.

Readability Before/After

Single gestures to view the conversation or replies. On the official iPad app, you can only see a conversation view. Replies to a tweet you can't see, only mentions.

I love tapbot so much. Just beautiful software and the epitome of what us iOS fans say when talking about app quality. Smooth animations, extremely functional, and just plain beautiful. the iPad version is just icing on the cake, because I finally have a decent Twitter client for the iPod that syncs with the iPhone version (via Tweetmarker). Nothing else is even in the same league.

Is Snapseed as good as it looks? Seems like you could add some nice touches to photos in this app.

Also, are there any decent Tiltshift apps for iPhone?

cheers.

The only thing I'd want from Tweetbot now is a reverse-contrast mode a la Twitterriffic (ie. white text on grey/black background). Sometimes my eyes just can't handle the white :(

Just got Tweetbot a couple of days ago and it rejuvenated Twitter for me. Most likely gonna get the iPad version too but not sure since I don't use Twitter that much on iPad.

I use Tweetbot on the iPhone so much that I certainly don't mind kicking them an extra $3 for an iPad version. No question, really. If it means they're able to make more and better apps in the future, then yes yes yes.

Downloaded Tweetbot and Calcbot and damn I'm impressed.

I only wish Tweetbot had a more blue theme available!

Gladly kicked Tapbots $3 for the iPad version. Great stuff. My biggest problem with the official iPad client was crashing. (and the inevitability that it becomes a POS like Twitter for iPhone)

I require timeline sync because of my OCD and not being able to miss tweets or be stuck rereading twice. Plus the official client didn't do real names unlike the iPhone version and the inconsistency annoyed me. I was using Twitterific but it wasn't exactly ideal either. Tweetbot however? Straight from God.

Reader. See that couch in the top right? Tap that and…

I didn't know that Readability did that. Thanks so much for posting it.
This is SO cool, I was so tired of sites making me go through multiple clicks to read the content (with the aggravating fact that Reeder (and similar apps) have a very shitty browser embedded).

Anything else worth noticing about Readability?

I had no problem with Twitter for iPad and saw no reason to go for one of the third-party apps but I got that new Tweetbot for iPad and wow. I can never go back to regular twitter. Fantastic app, best verision of twitter I have used. Best third party app I have used alongside Flipboard.

Can you explain the uses of this? It's never been obvious to me why some people find this life changing but you're certainly not the first I've seen say it.

Well basically it just breaks down another barrier between your phone and computer. Previously if I'd want to get a picture onto my computer quickly I'd just email it myself. Now it just appears magically. And Vice-Versa too, if I see a neat photo while browsing ffffound on my laptop, literally at the click of a button its on my phone. Same with Text, etc too. When I'm on the phone with people and need to jot down some notes I just type it into text edit. Now all I have to do is copy it and it appears on the phone!

Its grand. though it would be worthless without the Mac component. Sad they don't have a windows version. DO NOT BUY if you use Windows.

I also just purchased screens. Which was really expensive and I'm expecting to have problems with it. But I'll be sure to post some in depth impressions of that app in the future.

Fucking THIS. I use it ALL the time, back and forth. It's so easy to copy a pic from my MBP and send it to my iPhone, or vice versa. Text too, life saver there.

I wish the OS X app would keep a clipboard history, though, that would be awesome. Still, it's definitely saved me hassle, I use it daily.

Wow. Someone made clone of Clear and already put it up on store. I bought it thinking it was the real deal but it's shit and missing all the nice gestures, sounds, and animations. The real app won't come out till Wednesday so watch out guys. Good thing it was only 99c.

Wow, hope that shit is taken down, I almost didn't know if it was the real app he was linking to or what...

Can you explain the uses of this? It's never been obvious to me why some people find this life changing but you're certainly not the first I've seen say it.
OK. Let's say I have a pic I edited on my iPhone that I want to post somewhere on the internet, not from my phone. Or I just want it on my computer.

Well, instead of emailing myself an extension, or using an image upload service on my phone and then emailing myself the link to the image, I can simply hold on the image in the photos app, and copy it.

When it's copied, it's thrown into PasteBot, where I can do a bunch of things with it. Most awesomely though, is that I can hold on that entry and it automatically pastes on my desktop on my MBP.

It's awesome for text as well, and it works both ways. I can copy a link on my computer, for example, and it's ready in the clipboard on my phone. I just paste it wherever (say, Safari URL bar), and that's it.

It's fucking ingenious, really.

Pastebot is good for text, but I've always found Dropbox much quicker/simpler at getting images, videos, or other types of files to and from a computer.

That's just sad.

Hopefully it's taken down like like Sentry said.

I've been really looking forward to Clear. Kinda odd since it's just a to do app but I can't wait.

99% of to do apps on the store are absolute garbage and they all look the same.

But how? That required uploading it first, then accessing your dropbox from your computer, right? Versus simply copying said image/video and pasting it to your computer/iDevice. Seems easier.

Then again, I am on 3G internet so I kinda watch my expenditure. :p

Usually I have a few images in Photos I want sent over to my computer.

For Dropbox, the process is:

Open Dropbox app -> Tap + button in the Uploads tab (which is almost always already active) -> Select photos -> Tap upload.
Four steps. They'll be automatically pushed and I get a growl notification so I can quickly to get to the images on the mac.

For Pastebot the process is:

Open Photos -> Tap the action button -> Select photos -> Click copy -> Home button -> Open Pastebot -> Long press the photos to transfer them to the computer.
Seven steps. Switching apps takes the longest. If I could access the photos library directly in Pastebot it would shorten it down a lot.

Don't have to do any of that with Photo Stream. Works wonders for Windows and Mac.
I'd rather not have to use iPhoto. (I use Lightroom) If Photo Stream was integrated into the Finder like it is with Windows/Explorer, then I would use it.

Is there an app for keeping track of your collections? Video games, books, DVDs, etc. I use a spreadsheet at the moment, but wouldn't mind an app that has a little pizzazz.

Good points, didn't realize you were talking about multiple photos at once either. That would be a good addition for pastebot, along with the Mac client storing a list of your clipboard.

Anyways, bought a few apps recently, awesome stuff.

"Definition", best dictionary app out there for everything words.

"Word Lens" is a pretty amazing augmented reality translation app. I got it just because i'm hoping that the future updates will keep adding new languages, so it's a travel investment, even.

"TinyChat" is back up after being pulled a while back. Apparently it's buggy, and password-rooms don't let me join, but it'll be worth it when they update it, as long as it stays up.

"Camera Genius" is definitely my stock camera replacement, and imo, better than Camera+ by a longshot.

"Everyday" was probably a waste of money, but it's gonna be awesome one day. Take a pic of yourself every day, and thanks to the alignment grid, have each pic be aligned properly. Allows THIS, basically.

"SkyView" and "Star Walk" for star mapping and planetary info as well as augmented reality solar system orbit viewing. Awesome stuff.

"PhotoForge 2" is quite simply the most robust photo editing app out there, right next to Snapspeed.

"Video Stream" for streaming all of my MBP content over the air, as well as converting/storing them locally for later viewing. Best video streaming app out there (better than Air Video imo).

"Plex" for my Plex Media Library only MBP, wonderful app for Plex-specific content streaming.

And then there's the obvious stuff like Tweetbot, Clacbot, Convertbot, Pastebot, along with Wikipanion+, Instapaper, and a useful app called "Offline Pages Pro".

I know I probably blew through this way too fast, but what the hell, it's been a long time since i've actually bought new apps. :)

PS. Also bought some great games; GTA3, Osmos, Minecraft, Tiny Wings, Cut the Rope, & Tetris. :p

Yeah I am very reluctant to buy apps that are not universal if they are charging for two separate apps. It's just unnecessary nickel and diming.
