WRONG. Some transgenders do not want to get surgery on their genitalia, and they can be called ladyboy with no offense intended. They ask to be called ladyboys indeed.

I'm not saying that it is offensive ... just pointing missinformation.
Unless insanely specific cases, if the transgender people goes for all the trouble to physicaly look like a girl, then, no matter what she does with her genitals, it is more polite to call her simply a woman. And vice versa.
Ladyboys is mostly used in Thailand and it is highly associated with prostitution and pornography and a transgender person who ask to be called a ladyboy by cis people is proportional to a "black" person that asks to be called the N word by "white" people.
They are the exception, not the rule.
In all options, it is more polite to NOT call ALL the persons that unless the person specificaly stated that.
And not mentioning the fact that you are objetifying the person by making the person a genital.

That's what people do to any person who puts themselves out there, be they cosplayers, celebrities, politicians etc. That's the price you pay unfortunately.

Haha, thanks for leading the charge! I always have issues balancing swag hunting and hanging out with friends during PAX, so the cosplay photo count takes a bit of a hit and I missed some good ones. Here are some of the highlights out of the things I did photograph:
