So the Montreal convention season started last weekend, so I got busy photographing at its first half: Otakuthon, occuring at the same time as Anime Revolution for this year but on the opposite coast of Canada (which is to say the East). 'twas fun as usual, though it was the con's most crowded year yet (that the convention center was also double-booked for some jewelry expo at the same time which was cockblocking out some of the usual dealer's room space of previous years really didn't help matters at all).

Anyhoo, next half is the Montreal Comiccon in about three weeks at the same center; my prediction is that if I thought the Otakuthon crowd this year was messy, then I'm expecting (to paraphrase David Tennant) hell to be descending on Sunday because of Matt Smith.

Yeah. Would be helpful if people posted what the heck the pictures are supposed to be of.

But this is a problem with just about any thread on GAF where people post pics. Like in a "post a pic of your favorite game" or something people will post a pic and never explain what it's from.

Don't really see the comparison to be honest. In those topics you mention (wether it's game, screenshot, audio or level) the idea is to show things you love and try to interest people in said game, and therefore it's a good idea to include a name or title.

Here? Not so much imo. Unless you wanna play a game because of some awesome cosplay you see, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen that often.

At first, I thought you were talking about the male characteristics on display in the image you quoted and noticed the phallic imagery with not only the cosplayer, but the man behind him.

But then I figured out you were just judging a thread based on comments of sexual attraction which has become vilified as of late. The only thing that is "pretty telling" is that there are more vocal people who are attracted to the female body in here. Crime?
