those atrociously bad blood effects really ruin the Isaac suit

Here I am as Blackbeard from One Piece @ Otakon '10. Awesome showing of One Piece folks.
That's my ex, she'd be psyched to know that you think so...Would post more, but I'd have to rehost if people want...That's from about 6 months ago._dementia said:badass.

She was more preoccupied with cosplay than she was with being with me...:lolPloid 3.0 said:I kinda wish I had a gf that was cool with doing this type of stuff. Not sure if I mean publicly but I guess she'd have to show it off if she spend a lot of time making the costumes or whatever (just not in our town lol). It just seem like the chicks that do this stuff are awesome and fun.
Also that Morrigan costume is so spot on. Looks very professional, the leather skirt thing, and beads, everything is perfect. S tier.

I have to agree. A few years ago, everyone was still like "lol American cosplay," but now the scene is definitely legit and just about as good as it is in JapanSafe Bet said:The jump in costume quality over the last few years is mind-blowing.
Some of this shit is FX quality.

radiantdreamer said:I suppose that in order to actually get a girlfriend that loves this stuff, one would have to meet one that already does this stuff. IE: treat an anime expo like a bar or club.
The added advantage is that you can cosplay too. So if you're looking for someone is fine with being a little naughty like Morrigan, you'd cosplay as a Darkstalkers character, and seek her out. Like that Cammy ass? Cosplay as Bison and start the stalking. You should be able to at least spark some conversation.
That's all speculation, of course.
Ploid 3.0 said:Hahaha, I don't know about cosplaying myself. And that sounds like stalking and would be a bit creepy. Maybe a character that looks normal, although I wouldn't want to go to comic con or anything because I'm not that interested in it but I appreciate the work they do. Now that I think about it, it would probably be fun, but I wouldn't try to pick up a cosplayer there. I'd much rather be pleasantly surprised if I had a gf that would turn out to be interested in it, just to see how that turn out. But as HiResDes said, it could turn out to be a bad thing. I wouldn't mind if she's too into spending time on crafting and the cosplay scene though. Gives me time to do other things too.
If your gf/wife isn't your friend*, its a tough road.radiantdreamer said:If I could do over, I might more proactively pursue someone who shares similar interests.
radiantdreamer said:Sweet. I like how this conversation has taken a turn towards the issues of social acceptance being a cosplayer.
Personally, I'd be proud if my partner cosplayed. I'd definitely join in the fun. That pic of that couple who cosplayed as Leon and Ada and Megaman and Roll are a perfect example of a couple who truly appreciate cosplay and each other.
I don't think I'd really care what others thought of me cosplaying, especially at a convention.
In terms of the idea of being pleasantly surprised, I like that idea. However, for myself that has not happened. And truly, I think it's important to find someone who shares similar interests as you. If I could do over, I might more proactively pursue someone who shares similar interests.
Would I dress up as an anime character? Probably not. Not unless it was someone manly like Guts from Berserk.arstal said:I would be too embarassed to EVER do it. I would need one massive bribe in order to do it.

I wish I had a Cosplay Girl,
in outfights extra tight.
To dress up just like Aerith;
I'd impale her every night.
She could be my Slave Leia
(a theme that's never old)
and since she's such a trooper,
never bitch the armor's cold.
I wish I had a Cosplay girl,
though they're crazy in the head.
The envy of the fanboys,
they're always crazy in the bed.
Cosplay girls are shameless,
In leather and vinyl sleek,
my fantasies aren't final;
she's a new one every week.
I'm not a fan of anime,
I've never watched a one.
But with tons of slutty outfits,
I can see how it'd be fun.
So I wish I had a Cosplay Girl;
a mage, a knight, an elf.
Because playing with a cosplay girl
beats playing with myself.
Thank you.
HiResDes said:Kudos...even though I disagree with the theme.
I had an extremely lackluster relationship with a cosplayer...Are you deaf, or illiterate rather?Retro said:The hell is there to disagree with? A girl who is willing to put on ultra-revealing skin-tight clothes modeled after a fictional character and parade around at conventions populated by insane fans of said fictional characters is either brave enough or messed up enough to be a total thrill ride in the sack... and who the hell doesn't want that?
Plus, Cosplay is inexorably linked to nerd culture and gaming, so you know the girls dressing up are into role playing and are probably more than happy to wear their crazy outfits in bed, which is a pretty big turn on if you're a nerd (and if you're on GAF and following this thread, you probably are).

It's not like the right girl looks worse, they're practically twins. :lol Same nose, same eyes, the only thing noticeably different is the chin (and eyebrows).Augemitbutter said:the left girl isn't bad, need more pics without the grimace for final judgement though.
