I kinda wish I had a gf that was cool with doing this type of stuff. Not sure if I mean publicly but I guess she'd have to show it off if she spend a lot of time making the costumes or whatever (just not in our town lol). It just seem like the chicks that do this stuff are awesome and fun.

Also that Morrigan costume is so spot on. Looks very professional, the leather skirt thing, and beads, everything is perfect. S tier.

I have to agree. A few years ago, everyone was still like "lol American cosplay," but now the scene is definitely legit and just about as good as it is in Japan

I suppose that in order to actually get a girlfriend that loves this stuff, one would have to meet one that already does this stuff. IE: treat an anime expo like a bar or club.

The added advantage is that you can cosplay too. So if you're looking for someone is fine with being a little naughty like Morrigan, you'd cosplay as a Darkstalkers character, and seek her out. Like that Cammy ass? Cosplay as Bison and start the stalking. You should be able to at least spark some conversation.

Maybe a character that looks normal, although I wouldn't want to go to comic con or anything because I'm not that interested in it but I appreciate the work they do. Now that I think about it, it would probably be fun, but I wouldn't try to pick up a cosplayer there. I'd much rather be pleasantly surprised if I had a gf that would turn out to be interested in it, just to see how that turn out. But as HiResDes said, it could turn out to be a bad thing. I wouldn't mind if she's too into spending time on crafting and the cosplay scene though. Gives me time to do other things too.

I just wasn't willing to devote that much time to doing it nor did I ever take it as seriously as she did...She cosplayed mainly because she loved finding pictures of herself on the internet and the sensation of being looked at, which upon further reflection was mainly a coping mechanism to offset her psychotically low self-esteem. Although, I was one of the three guys she went out with and dumped in a 6 month span. :lol

It's an easy costume, the guy looks somewhat like me, and it's not downright bizarre.

Solid Snake is another manly one.

Just find something you're comfortable with and I'm sure cosplaying could be fun for you.

Plus, Cosplay is inexorably linked to nerd culture and gaming, so you know the girls dressing up are into role playing and are probably more than happy to wear their crazy outfits in bed, which is a pretty big turn on if you're a nerd (and if you're on GAF and following this thread, you probably are).

It was meant to be a joke anyways, so... don't take it personally. I actually have a girlfriend who, despite not being a cosplayer, is pretty awesome anyways. She thought it was funny though.

But seriously, that sucks about your ex-cosplayer. Maybe she just wasn't the right cosplay girl for you, but that doesn't mean they're all bad. Seriously dude, you've gotta get right back on the horse (er... two guys in a horse costume) and keep your chin up.
