Is the OVA with Vegeta's brother canon?
Doesn't matter since this new movie will probably end up contradicting it anyways. Though if they actually put effort into respecting it, I'd be impressed.

And the stuff with Gohan in high school (the best thing in the entire DB franchise).
Gohan in HS wasn't filler either. Well at least the idea of it, they might have added to it to make it longer or something.
People shouldn't hate it just because the natural evolution of Gohan's behavior is to turn into the wimp that he's always been, save one time.
And I kind of liked it, it's in the same vain of the Goku driving episode. It has the characters interacting with normal people which rarely happens.
That's like if Goku went back to being bad. Can't expect people to want that.
What? That barely happened in the show. There was just a flashback in one episode where they said oh yeah you were bad for a bit then bumped your head.
That doesn't even come close to being comparable
We saw Gohan be a wimp/crybaby/liability for 2 and a half arcs.
He dies from Kid Buu's attack after he's saved by Goku and Vegeta while unconscious. (The whole purpose Vegito went inside Buu's body)Gohan has never been killed in DBZ right? (Outside of the Future Trunks timeline).
He and mostly everyone else died when Kid Buu destroyed Earth.
I thought he had escaped to Kaioshin's planet?
Apparently Goku couldn't concentrate enough to use instant transmission to save him either.
It never made sense but it's a cartoon where a lot of things that happens didn't make sense. You know whats funny?
You know when Cell was going to blow himself up so Goku used instant transmission to send him and Cell to King Kai's planet.
Why didn't Goku just use instant transmission to get back to Earth? He just kinda stood there while Cell blew up.

In the anime it looks like he just stands there. In the manga Cell pretty much blows up two seconds later.
No Goku choose to save Dende and MrSatan because they were closer or something.
Had he had of brought Gohan's group instead to Kaioshin's planet then Goku, Vegeta, Gotenks and Gohan could of all teamed up and killed Kid Buu but noooooo.
Hell even after they got wished back Supreme Kai could of teleported to Earth, grabbed them and took them to his planet to help out with the battle bit didnt.
Bahhhh anyway....
Negative. He couldn't use instant transmission which could have saved everyone.

In the part where he saves Hercule and Dende, he doesn't lose his progression.
I thought that was a really cool scene. How supreme kai reaches out his hand and goku desperately grabs it.

zomgs villain leaked
Not really. I wonder if they go SSJ3 crazy with this film. I heard some people suggest SSJ3 Goku vs. SSJ3 Vegeta, no interruptions. Not sure what the plot would be to make that happen. Maybe a Tenkaichi Budokai?
Hopefully the villain is not some asshole who can regenerate.
Those are always the worst.

Cell got stronger when he regenerated.
It's time, motherfuckers!

Honestly this would be nothing but a buzz kill to me.
While I love some Goku Vs Vegeta, the final arc of Buu's best moments was Vegeta's thoughts and finally accepting Goku's power while SSJ3 Goku fought Kid Buu.
Just randomly giving Vegeta SSJ3 and having him fight equal with Goku at it would do nothing but unravel that entire section of Vegeta's character growth. I hated GT and just giving Vegeta SSJ4 and having him suddenly be equal in power to Goku despite Goku having it much longer and training with it.

I definitely get what you mean. But we no doubt know Vegeta won't stop training. He will have to hit SSJ3 eventually. I was going to suggest something would come along (ala possession) that would encourage Vegeta to challenge Goku, but we've already seen that twice (Babidi and Baby) lol.
Honestly this would be nothing but a buzz kill to me.

No, Vegeta no longer desired to surpass Goku. He would still train and get stronger, but, he no longer had a goal to surpass Goku, because he knew in the end he would never surpass Goku.

Because at the end of the day Vegeta will always be Goku's rival. He may accept that he'll never be as strong, but strength doesn't win every battle as Yajirobe once pointed out to him.
Yes, but Toriyama specifically finished Vegeta's character arc with the final Buu saga and his acceptance of Goku's superiority. So Toriyama undid his own character development with one line.
I honestly think he just forgot he resolved Vegeta's character arc, he has admitted multiple times he just flat out forgets his own story half the time.
Fuck, why not make it happen after the GT series? We all know that goku will go super saiyan 4 at some point in the series, so it will be no surprise if he wins again. Only reason I liked dragonball was to see how Goku would become even more stronger each time and transform in to a higher level saiyan. In this film he'll not reach his ultimate level which is a drawback for me. I just hate movies that fall in between other movies / series.

Seems to be common practice later on in DBZ.
Toriyama wasn't involved in making GT's story at all. Since this movie is supposed to have heavy inputs from Toriyama, it's only natural it's taking place at the end of Z.I see, I liked GT a lot though.
