When I first watched GT as a child I said "What the FUCK is this shit?!" They made Gohan into a little bitch and he was my favorite character. Main reason I hated GT.

Evangelion?
Full Metal Alchemist?

FMA wasn't a reboot, really.

The first anime was an original story loosely drawing from some events of the first 25-33% of the manga.

The second anime was an adaptation of the manga.

This is the only option.

I'd watch the shit out of a reboot of DBZ.

I'd watch it too but they better get some of their shit together and not make the mess that DBZ was at times, I don't want anymore "5 minutes left till planet explodes" which spans for 10 episodes, I don't want weird animations like Gohan's hair changing shape and color when he went SSJ2, etc.

lol that was kind of ridiculous.
I don't think Freezer knows how long a minute is.

What's crazy is that even in Kai, where a lot of the filler was cut/edited... this is still pretty much the same. Maybe not ten episodes but much, much more time passes than just five minutes in those final moments on Namek.

Still... I agree, I'd love for them to reboot this series and give it the same kind of animation quality that's found in the Kai intro.

At first I thought the sequences being shown were from the new film. I was super hyped because the animation shown looked really sick, but then I realized it was from the DB movies. The new animation doesn't have me thrilled in fact it looks really cheap.

This is a prequel movie? Not a what happens after GT? I'm out.

Even if they were to consider GT as canon for this which I doubt, why would they set it after GT? This is going to be nothing but Fan Wanking and most of the characters are gone at the end of GT.

This is the only way to get everyones favorite characters in the movie.

Yes, I'm really enthralled to learn the continuing stories of Goku Jr.

Yeah that's from a variety show in Japan. Prior to showing off the footage (which was shown at Saikyo V-JUMP Festa) they showcased some footage from the last DB film, the 10th Anniversary Path to Power feature.

When I was a kid I was always intrigued in the sayainrace and always wanted to see more of that race before Goku was a kid, more about his father, I saw that movie and left me wanting more.

This year's 33rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Saturday that the upcoming Dragon Ball film will be set betweeen the 517th and 518th installments of Akira Toriyama's original manga. Specifically, it is set during the "lost decade" of story time after the end of the battle with Majin Buu. Kuririn, Piccolo, Vegeta, and other familar characters will appear in the film. The film is not a spinoff, but a story in the official history of Dragon Ball.
First time I'm seeing this and excuse me if answered. But this is new content then? As in never before animated or illustrated in manga?

Yes.

I'd just skip it, I saw the first couple episodes and the premise was good, but it gets kind of ridiculous from what I've seen from a few later episodes.

GT is full of good ideas, and poor execution. The first story arch tries to bring back the adventure of the original chapters of the manga but falls flat on its face when you realize that it quickly becomes the Goku show, with a very unlikeable Pan, and a dull Trunks. Super 17 and Bebi aren't good, and while the evil Shenrons was a great idea the fact remains that they weren't very threatening with most of the cast wasted on the sidelines in the series. Heck, Uub was trained to be Goku's successor in protecting the Earth and he's in GT for like 5 minutes.

So the film received $600k in government funding due to Dragon Ball's enduring international popularity.

Interesting ...

If Kid Goku can't go SSJ, Uub is still weak, and they travel with Pan to outer space.

With the powernerf there, they could have easily gone back to DB-scale battles out of space.
