Ultron was a God-fearing robot for some reason, but that alone was more interesting to dwell about than what I'm hearing about Doom so far.All the impressions make this movie sound awful so far, but as motivations go, that's not too far off from Ultron.
Then again, Ultron also sucked as a villain.
Where is your god now, Kinberg? Its not a disaster
Nihilism as a villain motivation is so basic and played out. At least Ultron was an evil robot so you could give him that.

Maybe the characters in this movie will be likeable?Yeah, Ultron was interesting in a "huh, that's an interesting concept, I wonder what they'll do with it" way, except they didn't do anything interesting with it.
Doom sounds...not even that "good".
Still might see it because I'm really curious, but having sat through Chappie last week, I don't know if I can take another boring-ass movie.
I hope it's real!!!Thinking about the "Clobberin' Time" thing - one of these reviewers would've said something about that shit. It's probably a joke.
Probably.
Ronan, is that you?Where is your god now, Kinberg?
And there it is.Oh, I'm just now seeing the reference to those lines... yeah, that's all real.
Doom is a really good villain
Yes!Oh, I'm just now seeing the reference to those lines... yeah, that's all real.
Saw this earlier tonight at a preview thingy.
I'ts a very very average film. Like it's not awful or anything, the actors are fine, the dialogue is fine, the directing is OK, but there's not a whole lot of chemistry between the leads, there's poor attempts at humour and barely any heart and worst of all, it's just not very exciting. There's only one key action scene at the end that lasts about fifteen mins where we get to see them using their abilities.
Doom is a really good villain, but we only get to see him for about ten minutes!
It just spends too long setting it all up/them getting their powers. It would have been a much better film if there was another big set piece in the middle, but nope. No stan Lee cameo either
Also quite oddly that key scene from the trailer where they're all in the helicopter and The Thing is all like "yeah look what I can do" and jumps off to smash into a building, isn't even in it??!!
I really think this will go down as one of the least memorable Marvel films, it doesn't do anything original or exciting enough to stand out. It's just a waste of time. Suddenly not too bothered about Josh Trank dropping out the Star Wars film now.
From another review:
Ben Grimm's abusive brother used to say "It's clobbering time." before hitting Ben.
Also,
Victor (Before his transformation): I think the whole world should come to an end.
Susan (sarcastically says): Listen to Dr. Doom here.

.
Is any of this real?
Ben Grimm's abusive brother used to say "It's clobbering time." before hitting Ben.
Yes.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.Yes.
Jeremy Conrad said:There's no Stan Lee cameo in #FantasticFour, which is actually a good thing.

In the face of such bad buzz, it's hard not to feel a little sorry for the finished product, which is a harmless and endearingly cartoonish throwback to more simple comic book movie times.
Going the way of Ghost Rider it seems.
The clobberin time thing doesn't sound that bad to me.
And reactions to the reception of the film here from those who haven't seen it seems a bit over the top given it sounds more lukewarm/mediocre than outright bad.

You're right, the line isn't so bad in the film. It didn't even register as being that cheesy or anything when I heard it.
And you're right on the second front too, it is more mediocre than outright bad. It's just a wasted opportunity more than anything.
I want gritty origins for every superhero's catchphrase now.
we need a gritty origin for "Hulk Smash!"
The box office numbers for the movie's opening weekend are likely gonna go down since the reviews got out early. Now I know why Fox is putting the Deadpool trailer in front of this film.
It's a last desperate attempt to get people to see this potential disaster.
Opening weekend is projected at $40-50 million who wants to bet that estimate is going down after all these horrible reviews?
Not looking forward to Friday what a fucking mess.
