I played GT5 to oblivion and back. GT6 looks so damn good its ridiculous. Polyphony Digital once again raise the standard for the racing genre. Hail to the king baby!

Absolutely, which is why I worded it like that. Its a bummer that people feel the need to hack their savegames to overcome a grind.

But its not a grind while you're still having fun, which tends to happen with the breaking in period in any game. We'll see how GT6 works out, but am steeling myself for the moneyhunt.

Well if anything they hopefully don't repeat the mistake of putting a cap on money to 20 Million like in Gran Turismo 5.

This made the grind that much more awful because of prize money being lost due to this fairly low cap. It made trying to get all of the cars in the game that much more of a chore.

The game felt more Grind Turismo 5 and less Gran Turismo 5 at times. Because I was concentrating on building back to the 20 Million cap and buying one of those maxed price cars and going back to the flavor of the month seasonal race that provided the most amount of money for little effort.

I suppose that makes things different for me. See I treat these games as an Automotive Pokemon. Some people want to just pick a specific car and race on as many varied tracks mastering their time trials and improving their best laps.

No for me, It's about collecting all of the cars. I'm an enthusiast. So the grind effects me more so then compared to those already have that one specific vehicle they want.

Well, I can tell you there will be a solution to overcome grinding in GT6 (I somehow prefer usage of term "driving"), but somehow I am sure you will not actually like it.

Is it something to do with only having a limited garage size? I thought the bit about the 'stockyard' was intriguing.

I made a simple graph showing all the tracks in the game:

It's a shame they didn't reveal the variations.

EDIT: Fixed the list.

No. I do not know details yet, but as I know it is not microtransactions.

I thought GT6 was supposed to be less grindy overall. Certainly not like GT5. So why would there need to be a solution?

Kaz said that compared to GT5, the "flow of the game would be a lot quicker and easier."

Also, integrated B-spec would help with money, I would think.

If I'm picking up on the cut of your jib then you'd probably be right :)

But really it comes down to the pacing of the career in terms of money-making potential and if I'll be forced to repeat events I may not want to purely to make cash to afford a car for the next leg. And its also a function of how many different methods that are to make money. I'm down for seasonal events and any kind of rivals/leaderboard modes against friends if that exists at all, but online racing and B-Spec just aren't for me.

If there is enough interest, sure. :)

NRL vs. GTS in the new community leagues

SuperGT, no assists, no ABS, track grip REAL, tire wear and fuel depletion FAST, slipstream LOW, 20 laps, mandatory pitstop, Racing Hard tires only, damage LOW (we prefer heavy, but fun factor is gone completely then)

30 minutes non-sanctioned qualify, first race straight after, second race after the first, grid for 2nd race as reverse results from the first race

Sundays at 19:00 CET

39 tracks....hmm such an odd number. You think they'll thrown in another one for an even 40, or round it off to 45 or so.

Maybe I'm asking too much, But 39 tracks in several variations is a nice list.

This for GT6?

GT needs Jeremy Clarkson! :D
GT already got him driving the PS2 version of Laguna Seca and comparing it to reality. Its one of my favorite Top Gear UK segments. Although I have a shitton of favorites.

Top Gear US did something along similar lines with Forza 4 at Infineon. And yeah, Jeremy is in Forza 4's AutoVista, with all three in Forza 5.

Hell yes. Gifs!

I love the scale of that night shot of Nascar at Indy near the end (2:22 to 2:29).

But now that I look at it again its weird that none of the cars have their headlights on.

I loved the trailer but the excessive bloom and overexposed skyboxes are a bit annoying. Overexposure is something you only see from a camera's perspective. I remember that the dynamic clear weather sky in GT5 had this strange neon blue color to it. Anyway, minor gripes. Bring on the gameplay footage!

It still doesn't sound good with my sennheiser 280 HD's. Their stereomixing is fucking balls. It's not our fault PD is fucking up the sound.

Oh well look, yeah I would say a good set of quality headphones, of course qualifies just as much as decent speakers, for sure.
Stereomixing just sounds like bad code, my issue is with the samples used themselves.

Car DLC will be free????????
How in the fook?

PS3 has a massive install base so they could make a killing on DLC while, Forza 5 on a brand new system which has an install base of exactly zero, attempts to fleece potential buyers by charging $50 for 40 cars.
Unless I'm misunderstanding something, I am, as of this moment, have crossed realities and am now occupying space in Bizarro world.
I don't understand anything here.

Is there still a distinction in this game between premium cars and "regular" cars? Basically what I'm asking is if there's a bit more consistency in car modeling now or if they're still reusing a lot of much older models.

IIRC, if the headlights comment is about that segment, NASCAR headlights are actually stickers on the real car, and not actual functional lights.

GT6 has a set of cars that fall under a category called Vision GT. There are over manufacturers that are going to create cars specific for GT (some of those manufacturers will also build real world versions of them) and all of those cars will be made available for free over the course of a year. They haven't talked about what they'll do with DLC for real cars, but i'd imagine that they wouldn't be free.

Is there zero possibility if this being ported to PS4? Mainly because they'd want to be able able to say they maxed out the platform it was designed for?

I think just the Vision GT Concept cars will be free.

Delta wing taken off car list due to legal cerfluffle.

I drove at the GT6 Jalopnik film festival and while it is an interesting car, it was boring to drive. Not missing much tbh.

It's Piazza del Campo 2.0.

Ok, that makes more sense, coming back to reality now.

There are still standard cars, but they won't be called standards anymore in the game and there's no distinction made since you can now add aero kits, modify, and use photomode with them just like the premium cars. We haven't seen them yet, but Kaz said they've been worked on to look better, but they obviously won't be premium level.

Oh shit, Nissan made a batmobile? It looks kind of like this stupid three-wheeled rocket.propelled toy car I had as a kid. :D

Holy shit that ending. They show the moon and you're jokingly thinking "they gonna let us drive on the moon?"
I'm stunned by a racing game trailer even being able to have an end stinger like that. Hope the moon's not only for the buggy.

I'd forgotten GT6 is out this year. Suddenly I'm quite excited.

As far as I'm aware reading a lot of badly asked and vaguely answered questions with Kaz, the worst of the standards have been spruced up to look better while all the standards should look better thanks to how the game engine renders them. Will be very interesting to see a side by side when GT6 is released.

I agree. It's doubtful that they touched all 800 standard cars and it's more likely that the standard cars benefit from the tessellation.

Omg, you're right@GT4! And it's a beautiful love letter to the Honda NSX. :D

I love AutoVista! I remember Jeremy commenting on Halo's Warthog.

Why so he can talk about how awesome the game is, then say "but... it makes me sad..." while showing the game disc with blue tint after its been sprayed with a hose?

Seriously hate Top Gear because thats the middle 15 minutes of every fucking episode.

Fair enough. I like the show way too much to be annoyed by this. :D
