Is it proven that the payouts are added though? Like 1st place payout = Gold + bronze + silver payout? I know it was true for some special events in GT5...

But even then, I think at their current level, they're definitely fine. And if you look at the prices of the cars in GT6, they haven't changed. Also, don't forget the fact that we're having seasonals at launch.

Between PP and tires it seems like a good way of making sure the player can't simply overpower the AI cars.

Which definitely ain't a bad thing. I love racing games where I'm not the best of the bunch. The best races I've had are where I simply kept my position in the middle of the pack, but GT has had a hard time doing that in the past. Hope GT6 fixes that.

And with that said, is there any mode here where we can add a custom lineup and race with that? The only series you could really do the arcade races in and have a full field of similar cars were the GT500 in GT5.

Did the digital version of GT% perform any better than the disc version? I'm trying to decide what version of GT^ to get.

This is the first available digitally. Well, I guess some people could have had gt5 with unofficial firmware. not counting gtpsp.

You had to instal most of gt5 from disc anyway if you wanted good performance, so digital should be fine. I'm assuming gt6 will also have an install option, if so there shouldn't be much difference.

Yup, no impressions/reviews etc until early next Friday morning. Sorry. I've already grabbed a bunch of screens and videos, and will be doing a lot more over the next few days.

I'm pretty sure I can say this though. There is an install, no idea the size yet, because by default, it has an option to install in the background while you play. I didn't even know until I started digging around in the options menus.

Is there an option to use custom soundtracks like GT5....not asking about gameplay content just curious about this one feature is all.

Don't know if this is skirting too close to an impression or review, but could you tell us how many credits you've earned over your playtime at different intervals? Since we seem to have some idea of how much cars will cost, this would go a long way in determining whether the inclusion of micro-transactions has turned the game into a grind.

If I may make a couple of requests:

Screen shots of Damage, full track list with variations, and anything that details race payouts and car costs.

Excellent, now to need to compile a list of appropriate racing tracks for my GT6 experience.

I think MoTC will be one such track (It's pretty much a given for a GT game), I guess the Daiki Kasho stuff from GT5 that didn't make it into GT6 as well, and other assortment of "car / drive friendly" tunes.

Yes I'll have my driving music ready for Day-1.

Music used on the opening movie (if there is one)?

Someone needs to tweet this video to Kaz :O
You know to give him a nudge and inspiration.

There is a couple of DTM cars in Gran Turismo 5 (most of it cross over from GT4 of course)

Driving them on the Nordshliefe and Bathurst is going to be nice

I mean cars like this Audi A4 DTM
gt5-audi-a4-dtm-nurburgring.jpg

And one of my personal favorites
The Benz 190e Evo. II

I like the base model of the 190e especially due to the fact it's one of two cars (as far as I'm aware that has a Cosworth engine in GT5), the other being a Ford RS200.

GT series needs more Cosworth cars.

I have pics of most of that already....

The review ill include a very hefty image gallery, and I hope to have at least a couple of videos ready to go as well. I even recorded the first time booting the game up to show how long it takes before you're actually driving.

Is cockpit view still 30fps like academy?

edit: at 1080p

I just got the game today, so I haven't even started working on a draft yet. It'll be posted at our site on Friday Dec 6th at 2 a.m. Central Time. I believe this is a global embargo, so expect someone in Europe to post stuff before then :p

Okay, nice. :) Well, I'm happy the discs are being produced, so less then two weeks will not kill me for information. :) Enjoy.

If you are able to say so, how much better are the "standard" cars this go around? Higher paint textures/body lines? Remodeled completely except interiors?

I am going to go with a MC average of 88. Biggest dings will be that many promising/new features are not available at launch, standards and sounds.

Review scores have never mattered with this series to me. It just isn't a 'fun' game to play for most all-assists-on game journos.

They don't take into account the attention to detail or pretty epic scale of this series compared to others.

...and frankly, after registering close to 11 million sales for GT5, i would have to think that most people disregard these scores as well.

Must have been a tight schedule for PD. I wonder how the reviews will fare for this one.

Gamerankings will have it close to 90%. It is going to be a bit better than 5, but they will complain that it's too late on the PS3 lifecycle and that it's the game that 5 should have been.

Sounds will be far and away the biggest complain, which is good because it will basically guarantee they will work on it for GT7.

Nice to play Nostradamus, since their late shipping of review copies will mean revies and stuff when we already playing the game.

Man, I hope that old demo was not representative of the final build.
GT6 looked so much jaggier than GT5, not worth the minor added framerate stability for such a downgrade in AA.

Doesn't GT6 run at a higher resolution? i thought the aliasing was comparable to GT5.

The time of day and dynamic weather elements are not in the demo, also you need to factor that GT5 had an internal render resolution of 1280x1080 with MSAA applied.

GT6 has a higher res of 1440x1080 and uses MLAA.

GT5 had "baked" pre-computed lightning to free up GPU resources without effecting the performance, wheras GT6 has far more real-time rendered lighting for the new time of day and changing weather conditions.

GT6 having a higher resolution, more real-time lighting, and dynamic weather and time of day cycles, not to mention adaptive tessellation (which I believe wasn't even implemented in the demo), over GT5, I'd say loss in MSAA, is more then made up all things considered.

Then there is also the fact Nissan Academy 2013 was released back in July. It's safe to say GT6 went gold sometime this month, so that is 4 months worth of improvements they potentially made.

Thats what i thought. I never felt the academy demo was jaggy either though.

Also MLAA is a downgrade?
