New Gran Turismo 6 trailers [Complete blowout: All cars/tracks/features/etc]

In regard to late 80's/early 90's German steel, I'd cave and purchase the DLC.

My god I love that gif. Wow

Okay I haven't been paying attention, but I intend to buy this game.

Are there any special preorder-only cars? Or can everything be earned in-game?

I will probably ask for this as a Christmas present, so I would miss out on preorder bonuses (which I don't really care about--I'd rather grind a bit, as long as it's reasonable).

too bad the E30 is not in the game, and the 190E Evo is standard.
I promise to stop whining about this............................. someday.

I've been whining about the E30 for years. I promise nothing about stopping.

PS I need to unsubscribed from the Assetto Corsa thread so I can stop seeing people loving the E30....or pony up the money to build a gaming rig and buy AC.

Has anyone seen this, unless my eyes are failing me that Honda fit costs 1.7 million Cr, is that right?. Even if GT6 is as generous in dishing out credit as GT5 was that is a fuck ton of money for a Honda Fit. I fucking knew this would happen, i just hope am overreacting.

Japanese version of GT always had a different ratio of credits. NA/EU usually has smaller prices and JP one always had huge ones, don't really know why but it's always been the case afaik :p

That looks like a JPN screenshot. So the Cr would somewhat mimic Yen prices. The USD correlation to Cr would be lower, or at least has been in all prior GT's.

Dude, it's the Japanese credit system. Look at the starting credits in the top right. It's always been much higher.

The BMW M3 GT3 costs 350k in the US version. Think about that for a second. This is about right considering the prices in GT5 (Super GT was 500k if I'm correct).

Since they got rid of the used dealership, can you buy any of the standard cars, whenever you want? That's what it seems like from that screen.

The credits in the Japanese version are different from the western version. For example, here is the price for the Reventon in the the US version of GT6

And here's the Japanese version

On a console, yes. Brings up a question though, which racing game (console, PC, whatever) had the max amount of cars on track, and how many was it? The most I can recall, and I don't play PC games much, is GTR2 with like 40 on track I think.

There was a GTR2 mod the enabled 125 cars at once. If there was a pile up, the game would instantly crash. FPS was stuck at 20 no matter what your rig was.

The way I see this happening is the game renders say a max of 50 cars at once. The cars that are not rendered are run in "the cloud". Once a car comes into view is it is offloaded from the cloud to the console. The opposite happens when a car goes out of view. The only race that could have more than 50 cars in frame is the start of the Nurb 24hr.

Yes. It's all in the dealership, and there is no standard premium distinction, which shows that they've increased the quality of the standards.

I like the no distinction for nothing more than hopefully all your cars will be under one filter in the garage and you won't have to go back and forth between std and prem. GT5's garage was the worst in the series IMO. #BeatingDeadHorseAboutGT5Menus

Early GT mode impressions

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published a short hands-on preview describing the first few steps in starting your virtual career in Gran Turismo 6′s single player campaign. The article begins with a description of the driver “tutorial” that begins immediately when the game first launches. This will be similar to the driving introduction players went through when first loading up the GT6 GT Academy Demo. It also mentions having to register a “name” before the tutorial gets started, again, in line with the process in the GT Academy Demo.

The driving tutorial is meant to give players a taste of the game’s new handling before letting players dive in to the full game. It will also display basic driving technique tips and allow you to get familiarized with GT6′s new interface, to get players situated. Famitsu goes on to describe “Step 2,” which is the buying of your first car, where they recommend the 2010 Honda Fit RS for its “gentle behavior” to learn proper technique. The image for Step 2 is also interesting in that it displays the first look at some of the initial choices in cars.

The preview ends describing the expanded customization system along with other known features such as the new B-Spec mode, which is no longer separated from A-Spec, but can be activated during any race at any time, much like it was in Gran Turismo 4.

GT6 is worth buying for the UI and content organization alone if you found that particular aspect frustrating about GT5.

The new menus look heavenly, and the fact that you can practically access everything, including free run/test drives from the garage is flat out awesome.

Has anyone heard about mechanical damage implementation? I know visual damage has been improved so that cars are easier to scratch up.

Ah, cool. I heard they had improved the standard models, but wasn't sure what they'd handle the standard model cars.

I kind of liked the randomized cars in the used dealership... But I kind of didn't. It was always fun to finally get that car you were waiting to appear. But waiting for it was a bit of a drag.

Tutorial sounds like the one in gt academy :/
In a game such as this they shouldn't force you to drive your car with around with a certain control setup before you're allowed to change it.

I hope all cars w/ liveries can be painted w/ a color chip (to erase the livery). Was not the case in GT5. For example, in GT5 I would have liked to re-paint the Re Amemiya RX-7.

That's what the "Base Model" cars are for. I'm not sure if you mean the Super GT RX-7 or their tuned one though. GT6 has a base model for the Super GT car.

I HATE random dealerships. I wouldn't mind if they stuck the standards in a used car dealership, but they shouldn't be randomized. There should just be a used car division in every dealership, at most.

I am so glad that they got rid of the randomized dealership.

Was wondering this... glad to hear considering the "RE Amemiya RX7 GT300 Base Model '06" is listed as a new car in GT6. Will paint matte black and murder out for twilight Nordschleife stealth racing. 3-rotor 20B engine... sogood.gif

Japanese, EU and NA prices are all different in credits.

Cr in NA is in USD
Cr in EU in also in USD I think.
Cr in Japan is Yen.

You didn't think it was just a little bit fun to get the car you wanted to finally show up? I thought it was kind of satisfying. I do think it's good that it's gone, but I still kind of enjoyed the randomized cars.

Though, admittedly, because of it I ended up spending way more money than I normally would have, because I absolutely had to make sure I bought every '05 Ford GT and Shelby Mustang.

It's the worst when that one car you need takes forever to show up (I'm looking at you, Formula GT)

I've neen letting it fucking go for a decade. Better sounds BETTER be in this fucking game. Else ill buy it, as usual, and lie to myself that it will be different after I buy gt7... and gt8...

Sighhh... the shit pd puts me through. Sick of it.

What you can take comfort in is that GT6's theme is response to fan feedback (actually, this is the theme since GT5 got repeatedly patched). They are working on overhauling the engine sounds, but we do not know when they'll be ready.

It has been well documented that the sounds have been tweaked to have more grunt, but it isn't something revolutionary.

The overhaul will come at a later date. Be glad that they've done the following:

1. Uprezzed the standards
2. Added more premiums
3. Made campaign progression smoother
4. Got rid of nasty menus
5. Got rid of ugly shadows
6. Got rid of the alpha effect that destroyed IQ (this will make wet and rain racing more glorious)
7. Added v-sync to make tearing nonexistent

The only issue I think they've introduced is framedrops at 1080p.

Do you guys think the digital version will have faster load times? I am considering getting it, but the problem is I want to continue the tradition of having hard copies for every GT game.

So you gotta buy it at gamestop to get all the special cars? This retailer exclusive bullshit needs to DIAF.

Are the cars LM's or or they just paint? If you get the 25 car pack do you have to buy them all in game or are they "free"?

I'm guessing it's like GT5, in which case they're actual cars and they're yours from the start. I tore up a number of events in GT5 with the stealth McLaren F1 that came with a pre-order bonus.

lol, thanks for talking me down..

PD has been on the ball with Gran Turismo for quite some time. Every update has worked to create a better experience for all players, and there is definitely no question about that. I have missed PD commenting on the sound for GT6, and will google it. So that is what you meant by totally revamped by launch. That they have already made, some, effort to get the sounds in a better position. I just hope that I don't have to work too hard to translate the sound from my speakers, into an actual flat6 in my head. Its honestly, my only problem with GT. I just love the driving feel, and the cars look amazing. Have never had a problem with track content, I just love beating my times. Also, I played GT5's online even before the patches and updates and had quite the time of my life with some really close and respectable racers. Thanks for the education about the overhaul. But it is definitely something we've all heard in the past. But as every GT, I enter with open arms.

I'm doing disc. Its been the same way since GT1. The tradition must continue.. the manuals are always good for toilet time as well. I haven't done any full digital titles on the PS3 at all.

If anyone is concerned about monetization issues in GT6.

I'm basing this on the Famitsu preview of the tutorial mode as shown in the link below

You can see the payout total should be 4400 without bronze added. So with bronze being half of what silver is (800), the total payout is ~5200 credits. With GT5, the payouts increased to the 2nd and 3rd event. Total for Sunday cup= 10,400 credits/ 2 races. Even if the next 2 events stay the same, that would be 5200 x6 races + 10,400 from Sunday Cup = 41,600.

This not even factoring coffee breaks, championship payouts, prize award cars, or even the sign in bonus etc.

So 41,600 for a couple of races at the beginning of the game isn't bad, no?
