New GTA 5 PC Screenshots 3/27/2015

This may not be an accurate comparison, but its all we have to work with at the moment...

The GTA5 files (w/ latest patches) on my PS4 total around 55Gb. A DL Bluray disc is 50Gb....but judging by the amount of time that install from disc was, there was alot of uncompressing going on. I'm taking a guess that the disc possibly held around 30Gb of data

The PC version may possibly have alot more assets to deal with, larger texture files etc...so that's why I am ballparking its download size at around 35Gb (which makes it almost the same size as their last PC release ... MP3)

We'll see. Games that require a similar amount of hard drive space (Advanced Warfare, Wolfenstein, etc.) have usually had download sizes a little over 40GB, uncompromising another 10-15GB. The most extreme case has been Titanfall, which is like 48GB uncompressed but the download is just around 20GB. I somehow don't think Rockstar is gonna compress GTA V down to half size.

Marketing bull shots don't really tell how it's going to look. I want to see the final game running on someone's PC with a powerful GPU.

Just saying.

Some people play bullshots. Like Smokey.

Even mentioned in that TOS that most people don't read.

A standard TOS. You want to know why? If you are a netflix customer you sued Netflix. Oh you didnt know that you sued Netflix? Most people dont. Hence why all of those TOS's came out from companies at the same time.

I dont give a shit about the TOS. I care about a company I can trust. Valve has been nothing but good to me. Rockstar has done nothing but give me shitty GTA port after shitty GTA port.

Forget the launcher, only a full on fool would pre-order a GTA game on PC. With no exceptions, every GTA game on PC has been a shitty port.

Eh, it was like a year ago, but i had that discussion.
to be fair, the game probably could look a little closer to it if they just changed the house with existing assets... that grass exists in a lot of uglier areas, those garbage pins exist (even in that same area during a mission), a lot of those signs exist, and if they were more trees in that area the same 'type' of shadows could be cast... a big part of the change is you don't really have trees there for those shadows... i mean, below is how it looks like at both sunrise and sunset, so i'm not sure if they staged the shadows or that area just used to have bigger trees, the arc of the sun used to be different, etc

but the lighting still helps a little because you gotta compare at the same time of day, not just location...

you can see the lighting really can't even be the same because the angle of the sun and the trees to cast shadows are just different now (or were specifically staged for that vid)... the house can have a few decent shadows cast on it but not the same as the trailer. rest of the stuff like the grass and trash is normal in-game (at other places)... just not dude hammering away at the sign.

still not the same but the house still looks pretty decent in motion, like the video i post before

lighting is ok, the rock on the house looks nice, flower LOD and blowing in the wind is nice... still not the same but i think the house looks better if you've got some shadows on it and you can see the lighting and weather in motion... not as 'busy' as the trailer 1 screenshot but i still think it looks nice... especially consider it's basically 1 of over probably 500 generic houses that are mostly all unique... you almost never even visit this entire area

except for 1 heist prep mission and even that could be on a different street

haha pure coincidence i didn't even realize i stole the trash truck literally exactly in front of the same house... i didn't even know where that trailer 1 house was at the time... lol you can see at 3:20 i stopped the trash truck literally right in front of the same house... 100% coincidence, just realized it now as I checked the vid ;p

Other than the fact that you can get it on GMG for $46, which is a steam key, I can't think of anything else.

It's not a Steam key on GMG. Only way to get a Steam version is through Steam now.

This game will be delivered as a Rockstar Games Social Club redemption code. Customers will require a free Rockstar Games Social Club account to play.

lol wow. Only shitty port I dealt with was San Andreas. The recent patch they released fixed everything.

I also love my companies but you still can't ignore the fact regardless if on steam you don't own the games. Even if its R* or any other company. And no shit a TOS is to prevent lawsuits but it still states you don't own the game. A TOS is more than that lol. It to let you know you can't sue and you don't own shit.

A TOS or EULA are pretty much useless legally. One of the few things the TOS might prevent (due to recent legislation) is these garbage large scale class action lawsuits that include customers as litigants without their knowledge.

No widescreen support for any of the games for years with a 30 fps cap. Those were amazing ports man. And all that controller support!

My favorite thing about GTA 4? The way R* held back updates. They waited for mod support, then what do you know we have that new update! They always had an update ready every time a new version had mod support enabled again. Wonderful. Sure Hot Coffee sucked. i get that. Cost you guys a lot of money. Sorry about that. But how the fuck was that PC gamers fault? Nobody cared until people were able to enable it on PS2, but R^ held it against PC gamers. Whatever.

Not in good thread, but on GTA V PC version, any news for Online Character transfer from X1 or PS4 version ? I don't need recreate a character ... :(

Thx ;)

Rockstar said:
You will be able to transfer your Online characters and progress from any of the four consoles (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 or Xbox One) to the PC platform. To be clear, if you transfer or have already transferred your progress from PS3 or Xbox 360 to either PS4 or Xbox One, then you will still be able to do another transfer again from PS4 or Xbox One to PC. We have updated the detailed transfer information article at Rockstar Support to account for this.

More info here;

Hope it helps :)

I got GTA 1 2 and 3 at launch for PC, and had no issues what so ever. I'd agree with the other ones, but I didn't try them till many years after and they were severely dated for the time.
