New Hori PS4 controller - People are going to get murdered...

Too bad it's up to the games to actually support mouse input, so it's kind of pointless.

It actually doesn't matter if games support mouse input.

How could sony even block this if it sends a normal signal?

Shit like that will never be popular enough to make a difference and the truly good players clown on you anyways.

I remember watching a BO3 stream once with a dude claiming 9 K/D ratio. And it was true, but also eveident the use of a mouse.

At that moment some things became clear in some matches when I think "how did he do that?".

I don't think is widespread but is therr definetly.

So do you hold half of a game pad with one hand and use the mouse with the other?

How the fuck do you even use the thing? It looks so uncomfortable

I play FPS on pc like this all the time, aim with mouse move with left analog on my xbox 360 pad. Jump on left bumper, crouch on left stick. Love it. And I do ok too.

I started doing this last summer with a G502 and a PS Nav controller. It is a pain to set up for certain games but when it works, goddamn does it feel good. Especially when that game has dual kbm+controller support and you get true blue analog movement with mouse look.

It's orgasmic.

I've been rockin' a Dual Shock / Mouse combo on PC since... Hrm, I wanna say Unreal or Half-Life released? Bad news, fellas. The aliens were always here.

Been using the PS Nav w/ mouse combo for years on PC. Best way to play shooters. Analog movemnt > wasd in many games outside of classic arena fps's like Quake/Unreal.

Aren't mouse and keyboard already enabled on a per game basis on ps4, being up to the devs?

Either way, the build quality of most of Hori's stuff is up there.

Remind me again why PSpro can't increase fps for multiplayer games. Oh yeah, it could provide some players an advantage over others. Can't have that!

Seeing people actually mad at the existence of this is kinda funny.

Imagine you're enjoying a game like Overwatch or Battlefield on console, and then you come across the one guy who, instead of trying to utilize and get better with a controller like the rest of us, decides to buy one of these and instantly starts headshotting people left and right, including you. You notice his very unrealistically well-curved aim on your kill cam. Would it not make you a bit upset and question why this guy isn't playing on PC? Is it because he isn't good enough to compete with other M&K users on PC so he takes advantage of a player base with worse aiming input? Or is it because he doesn't have a PC that can handle these games? Usually if someone's that good with M&K on console, they've played PC games before because most people I've talked to who play console-only and transition to PC have a hard time with M&K or simply don't prefer it.

Me and some friends were playing Overwatch Quick Play(in between seasons) and came across this team of 4 guys where two of them were using XIM or some M&K attachment. On top of that, they were playing McCree(Mr. Twoshot) and Hanzo(Mr. Oneshot). You can imagine how furious my friends became. They became mad enough to want to buy their own XIM attachment or hori controller, and that is where a big problem lies.

Very confused why people keep acting like Hori is this nothing company acting outside of Sony's accessory licensing stuff?

Don't get me wrong, I completely get the concern, it is just amusing to me. Being on console you can't make the mouse movement as fast I don't think. Unless this thing has some ridiculous DPI settings (which I don't know how that would interact with the PS4 anyway.)

I, for one, am a PC Gamer who hates moving around with WASD and aiming with the right analog stick. So this is kinda cool.

I had something similar in the PS3 days because my friends were hellbent on playing Black Ops 1 on PS3 instead of PC. I pretty much had to get one because I have a disability that makes twin-stick aiming very hard for me. The thing is the mouse only emulates analog-stick movement so you don't really have much of an advantage but it atleast helped my hand to not cramp :P

I think it's probably easier for Overwatch ever since they released the update where they adjusted the deadzone and also let you change the aim assist and turning more. Also, even if you can't adjust DPI settings, you still have an advantage when it comes to the smaller adjustments in aim that you can easily mess up with a right stick. The thing called XIM that released a bit ago, and actually isn't that expensive, lets you adjust DPI settings.

That is true. I play on PC so I didn't know about a change to the deadzone. That's surprising. Oh there is something that allows you to change DPI? Welp.

As you can see from some of the reviews, some people like using it for handicapped gaming which is a great tool for that. However, with the good comes the bad, where people are also using it for CoD and BF which shouldn't be allowed. There's also youtube tutorials of people out there showing you how to adjust the settings so it feels as close to PC as possible.

Edit: Also yes I play OW on PC and console and the deadzone on console was garbage for the longest time. A gigantic reddit thread had to be made on the issue to explain why it was so terrible. After that they finally changed it.

I always wanted to try a controller like this, though don't really have much reason to right now. Cool to see something like this exists

Hori released a PC version as well.

Jesus fuck, when will these fucking companies stop using a joystick for fucking thumb input. Using a sideways joystick, ostensibly for movement, is so stupid. It works much better as a bunch of auxiliary actions.

I would nuke all this TAC/Orbweaver bullshit to hell if I could just get my old Belkin n52 w/ dpad thumb input pad with another row of keys up top.

I like the idea, and it's probably good for people playing in front of a high desk, but I try to imagine working the mouse while sitting on a couch and my right wrist starts hurting because of the awkward angle I would have to navigate the mouse with.
