Care to elaborate? I would say that It's not better just because the manga has some of the worst drawings ever.

If you actually buy volumes the art is fine. Hunter X Hunter isn't drawn of the level of Berserk but the volume versions are fine for what they are.

as good as the transitions are, the anime that takes the title is probably jojo, not olny one of the best uses of a song but the transitions are priceless.

I have to say I looooooved the art in the Chimera Ant arc in the manga. It's strange, but I felt the scribbles really added a lot to the chaos and despair that's so rampant in the arc. And the contrast between the scribbles and the occasional magnificent two-page spreads was great. I know it wasn't the intention, but it certainly didn't detract from my enjoyment of the arc.

character development and character interaction, 2 of my absolute favorite elements of storytelling, the story doesnt even have to progress at all if I get these elements out of it, good thing both is happening putting HxH on another level, I'm loving the king knowing what losing is but also having the excitement of having hope that he could possibly beat her, its all a very interesting subplot and I love it. But the best thing about it? the actual game didnt need to be explained at all inorder for this to work, this is brilliant.

What a tense and thrilling episode, so much is happening and I am legit worried for knov, idk what will happen, togashi is not afraid to kill off characters including strong ones so who knows, I feel like he raised a death flag when he was cocky talking about pitou's aura was nothing. But palm, goddamn, is one of nen powers to ability to kinda transform what she looks like? I knew I really liked her character, still not as good as best character, aka biscuit.

Only things we know right now is that she has the most evil aura, is a specialist, has the longest (nonspherical) En out of anyone and can reanimate bodies. Pouf can read minds. We dont know anything about Menthu except that he's dumb.

well she(well "it" but basically pitou's a she, I mean she has boobs) has been getting all the buildup from all the things you pointed out.

I have no idea how palm is going to get anywhere close to the royal guards and the king, she is just a sex slave to the old dude, i dont even know if they know that he is doing this, and even if she did, I cant see her getting out alive but beyond that knov, whats wrong with ya, I mean you are part of the top tier(so far in the anime) and yet you lost your will that easily? was Disappointed in his reaction. Is sexless, they explained before, every ant can't breed unless is the Queen, when the Queen gives birth to The King, he goes to breed with a female of another species to create new Queens, and so... If the King or the Queen (whoever is the top in the chain) dies (or the ant goes rogue), the ants can start to develop sexual capacities and try to become a King/Queen. That's why they try to kill the king and every ant that they come across (except for the allied ants).

continue to disagree with this. If you liked the story up till now, why not give it a read? IMO having read the manga first adds another layer of enjoyment to the show. You can spot the panels they referenced in the animation, can notice where they added or extended from the manga (as well as, yes, sometimes things left out )

There is NOTHING wrong with reading the manga and enjoying the story as it was originally presented. Yes, we all know the is not finished, but we can't control that. I'm enjoying what is actually out there and not huffing and puffing it.

I have a theory that a lot of people complaining about the Manga are doing so because they are judging by scanlations you can find online, which have inferior art. These are translated from the individually published chapters. The volumes have WAY BETTER redrawn art.

I'm not suggesting you do it unless one has the desire, but I did it and I'm happy with my choice.

I also bought all the manga volumes from VIZ digitally, love having them all on my phone. (Nexux 5 btw, nice big 1080p screen :d)

Finally got to the start of the Chimera Ant arc. Greed Island was a neat arc, but I think Yorknew City arc is still top for me. Bisky was a neat character.

hm. I do it differently. I first watch the anime episodes, then I go back to see what was changed from the manga. But I never pass where the anime left off.

Totally valid way to go about it. For me personally, I tend to prefer experiencing the original first (be it a book, comic, manga, whatever) before the TV, movie or anime version of a story. But I've done it both ways and both are enjoyable.

While he isn't as educated as Pouf or Neferpitou, I'm pretty sure this dude is pretty intelligent in a whole different way. He's the calmest of them and doesn't seem to be more than a bulky badass, but I can't help but feel this guy has a huuuuge secret; I like him

Youpi is still a mystery which is why I like him. We don't know what his moves or what type of nen user he is (my guess is enhancer). What we do know is that he's *supposed* to be fighting Knuckle and Shoot who have some of the strangest powers. I think it should be implied that he is a dummy which is what I think will be his downfall against those two.

oh don't get me wrong he is my favourite of the Royal Guards mostly due to stuff that will happen later but he does has simple minded written all over him compare to the other two.

Dude, leave them be. It's obvious some people want to experience the story as it's unfolding right now, with the anime, and most of all, together in this thread, speculating, predicting, etc.
Sure, there's nothing wrong with reading the manga, heck, I read the manga too. Granted, I read it some time before the current anime started, and who knows what I'd done if this anime was my first exposure to HxH. But at the same time, what's wrong with wanting to stick to the anime, and watching it together with fellow anime-only peeps?

Not to mention, it's fun seeing anime-only perspectives. If not for that, this thread would be filled with manga-talk and comparisons.

As for the bolded, I wouldn't give the art as a reason to not read the manga. As I said before in this thread, I actually really liked the art in this arc. And I'm not talking about the volume art, I mean the 'scanlation' art. I think it really adds an extra touch to the insanity, chaos and despair of it all, not to mention giving the Ant designs a slightly creepier vibe.
But if I would have to give a reason, I would say the fact that the manga is dead in it's tracks at the moment. Just following the anime just gives you more to look forward to, for a longer period of time. And I know, it's still enjoyable if you've read the manga, but it's different. You know it is.

Guys, just do whatever you enjoy the most.
