New Nintendo Direct Tomorrow (9 Feb)

I'll give every GAF member 1k if the Switch successor is announced
I know. I can't believe people are seriously suggesting that.

Like a company would publicly state a console is reaching the middle of its life-cycle, and then immediately announced its successor to kill off its momentum.

Or that Nintendo would make a Direct focusing on early 2022 Switch games and just casually throw the next gen console announcement in there.

The next console is a long way from being revealed. We haven't even heard its codename - something we always hear about months/years before its officially revealed by Nintendo.

So much stuff I need to get more info on. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 could be revealed, BotW Sequel could get a name, Bayonetta 3 details, Mario Kart 9 announcement, surprise 2D Mario game, Surprise 3D Mario game, new Amiibos, New OLED Switch XL etc ...

There are a few things I'd love to see get covered.

I shit my pants in excitment.
I shit my pants in excrement.

Strikers on the Wii...WAS...THE...SHIT.

Legit some of the most fun I had on the Wii. Online was mostly solid as well. It had 2v2 online matches that were a lot of fun. My buddy and I got ranked in the top 200 at one point and we kept losing to a guy who made his mii look like Owen Wilson. That son of a bitch.
Man me and my cousins played thru the story and could not beat that sob piranha plant. Like legit got our ass handed to us everytime lol. And yes the online was solid.

The only thing that needed fixing was people jumping over the goalie to get an easy score, other than that I need it in my veins lol.

If DLC is planned for Mario Party Superstars then the tone has been set. That means Switch will sell 160 million consoles. GUARANTEED

OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THE GOALIE JUMP.

That shit looked poetic AF though. You had to hit it just right every time but if you did it looked like something outta the matrix.

Nice.

What I really want but dont expect at all. Pikmin 4, Next Fire Emblem game. Luigi's Mansion 4. 3D Donkey Kong game. Last 2 are really unlikely

O and Mother 4 lol

Well, State of Play are always 99% crap, both indie or AAA. I still give a good go to Nintendo first party.

State of Plays are bloody awful.
Directs arent always the best or close but they sometimes have had some great announcements. I cant remember a moment a State of Play impressed me.
The PS5 reveal was good. The next one that announced FF16 started with a bomb and the rest was a dud

Wonder how this ties in with the fucking massive sale that starts directly after this ends in Europe. 1000+ games.

1. New character for Mario Golf,
2. a SNES game no one has ever heard of
3. A sequel to 1-2 Switch

Gonna be a drawn out blast!
Lol. If history has told me anything, it's that the quality of the Nintendo Direct is inversely proportional to the amount of hype leading up to it. So if we keep the hype as low as possible, we could cause them to make the most exciting megaton announcement.

THIS.

I have a so-so graphics card (Radeon RX 550) and can't even play at 1080p, and my main gaming machine is a Series S, yet I enjoy my Switch, Series S and PC so much not because of graphics, but because of how fun are the games I play there.

Games have always been about fun. Resolution and FPS are just an added bonus. ;)
My standards for even slightly realistic games is just much higher.
I don't care that Nintendo's anime styled game runs at 480p. I do care that a "realistic" game doesn't even have shadows and reflections.

I have fun seeing beautiful games.

What are people expecting.
I don't even own the console but love watching these.

I expect what happens everytime, there to be a couple games from smaller series like advanced wars, or a neat new Ip like triangle strategy that blows me away plus an update to a nintendo series I care about like splatoon.

Then I expect everyone to say it was disappointing the next day.

I was implying BotW 2 comes out March 3, 2025.

BOTW2 can/should take all its time in the world. BOTW is a masterpiece, following up to it takes enormous effort. I want the series to end in high-note.

I don't mind it pushed to 2023 or even 2024 for Switch 2, but 2025 is highly unlikely

I can't imagine the pressure of making a sequel to Breath of the Wild.

This trailer still the goat.

honestly is the easiest task ever for the zelda team, they just need to add dungeons, a way to repair weapons, more epic music, underwater gameplay plus all the inventive shit they always create and there you go, the new best zelda game ever made.

That trailer still gives me chills. Like, it literally did just now as I watched it again. Nothing has hyped me up like this did ever since. It showed me my dream Zelda game coming true.

Monolith new IP? BOW 2? Mario kart 9? Let's see what they have or what dreams they crash. This directs are always a ineresting ride, for good or bad...

I know Mario Kart 9 is the rumour of the day, but frankly it's time for Odyssey 2, or one that expands upon Bowser's Fury, or both.

Also, give us Silksong already, holy shit.
How about Bowser's inside fury, a psychological exploration of what makes bowser who he is

YES! Strikers charged fucking RULES! I'd love to see that on switch

The only modern Vanillaware game that are not published by Atlus and it still locked in Wii and Vita.... I really hope they bring this game to modern console.
Muramasa is too damn good to be stuck on dead systems, if the game was published by Atlus we would have seen port for it by now.
