Interesting, but where are games like the new Kirby or Custom Robo?

Why does it take so long for some of those games to get released in Europe?

It last so long, because they
1. have to translate it into 4-6 different languages.
2. change it to PAL.
3. have stupid release plans. Zelda FSA was translated in August!

FSA, and the NES Classics for the GBA were slated for a December 23rd release, but once again Nintendo Europe screws up their plans... Way to go Nintendo!

Ah well, I'll just get the Four Swords on the 7th...

There is really no excuse for not having global game launches. If you structure the process correctly, it can be done very well indeed. All it takes is a capable producer, a professionally structured company and a solid process.

I believe that why Nintendo sucks when it comes to global releases is that their processes are built on top of their old Japan-centric processes and then for some "key cases" they rush in an adhoc mode to get stuff out to the market simultaneously. They should hire a couple of BCG guys to restructure them globally. Hell, if I got to look behind the scenes in Kioto, I could do it!

Halo 2 and GTA Series show how successful worldwide releases can be.

Even through some of the games are not in its league and wont have a fraction of its sales, games should have WORLDWIDE RELEASES !

The ones uptill March seem solid dates.

Nintendo also have to bother with Japanese releases too. Thats the difference.

They are by far the best out of the Japanese companies in Europe.

Of course, it needs to be noted that this list has several games reaching Europe before North America, like DK: King of Swing, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, and uh, that's really it. Still, it's interesting that NoA and NoE's schedules have largely become completely incongruous, especially with the GBA since in '02 and '03 it was looking like they were really nailing close releases.

You poor bastards...

But look at the bright side...

You got Zelda: Minish Cap earlier than NA, Silent Hill 3

Also heard you guys got games that never came over here
Terranigma (sp)
SNES versions of DBZ

And although you get games later, it provides more time to stomp bugs and add features not available in early releases like
MGS3

I'd rather play MGS3 now than have a special edition with just a few extra modes and a making documentary that ill only see once....

4 months of dodging spoilers is a Bitch !

For once i give praise to capcom for only delaying Resident Evil 4 Cube for 2 months for Pal .

Better than the usual 6 :)

How reliable is Play.com for release dates? If it's true that Giftpia is being released by NOE (and if by that time NOA gives no indication of doing so), then it's import time for me! :) Reminds me that I still need to get Doshin at some point. :p

the dbz snes games were only released in France. With the exception of HyperDymension. I imported all of them of course :).

But I have to say: These dates can change, in January we will know more. NoE plans to release them at these "dates" at this point, but maybe they'll decide to release one game later or one earlier.

UPDATE FROM NOE:

Dear Customer, thank you for your e-mail.

We do have Giftpia listed on our system as being a game coming to the Nintendo GameCube, But we do not have any release date yet.

Kind regards,

Your Nintendo Team

Wow, Giftpia's getting a Euro localization? Maybe NOA will slip it in when there schedule gets a little light in late 2005/2006?

Why do they list SF this late ? It will come out in March in the USA and there isn't much to translate.
