It looks like someone has let the cat out of the bag – as the latest trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales confirms what all fans have been hoping.

Yes, Keira Knightley WILL reprise her role as Elizabeth Swan in the upcoming fifth movie in the franchise.

But blink twice and you'll miss her.

She's not in the fourth film. Her & Bloom's story were "done" at the end of 3 but it was confirmed Bloom was back for this one yet no word on Knightley.

It was widely assumed by many outlets that Knightly would not return the franchise, despite the inclusion of Turner and their son.


Doubt this is significant at all. Something feels off in that snippet that makes it seem like a flashback with filters and the works. Aside from name drops, that'll likely be the extent.

I understand there's a subtle gradient along which spoilers of various gravity can fall into, and as far as judging this one it's not really a megaton. It's on the same level as 'there's a sword named after a Dark Souls character in the new Dark Souls game.' Meh.
