I guess you missed the "Batman fans more likely to be pedophiles" study, eh?

I have a feeling anyone who's a comic book fan is more likely to be a pedophile.

Please explain your genius theory.

Because the only reason an adult would want comic books around is to lure impressionable young children to them. Clearly.

*yawn* Never believe studies/surveys/statistics unless they give you all the facts. They didn't even tell you how large their survey sample is. Not to mention how diverse the demographics of the sample is. It doesn't even prove that anyone is a Superman fan, he could just be the most recognizable superhero to the person. Generaliztions made from small studies usually turn out to be false because the conditions of the study are too specific. Don't fall for any of them.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
This just in: apparently people who are quick to believe poll results on teh Internet are 50% more frightened of razorblades hidden in vaginas. That is all. :D

Dude, only an insane man wouldn't be afraid of razorblades hidden in vaginas.

Edit: or a gay man, but I'm sure you could also hide a razorblade in the pooper.

I think half of the fun behind the study is the absurdity of one of the studied variables. Nobody actually took it seriously.

So yeah, thanks for telling everybody Santa Claus doesn't exist, buddy.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face

Well, if everyone knows better than to trust statistics and studies without further research, then just call me Captain Obvious. :D Personally, I think people are quick to believe something if it's from some Professor of BS.

I've only recently become a fan of Superman, though. Heck, the only Superman book I ever read was the death of Superman. And Spiderman > Superman.

Maybe people today are more self-absorbed and wimpy than ever before.. failing to measure up to Superman, realizing their shortcomings, giving up? I'm a christian and my hero is Jesus Christ obviously.. He's God, perfect, walked as a man for 33 years and didn't sin, walked on water, changed the world, sacrificed his life to save every person on the planet... there's NO WAY I can measure up but does that make a christian like me give up in trying? Hardly.

Heroes like Superman, and to a greater extent Spiderman, have so much more in the way of shortcomings. Maybe we can't punch through buildings or pick up buses but there are so many other ways we could be Superman-like.

To sum up: people = weiners. OR the study is BS.

And because the study only used a fictional volunteer opportunity as an endpoint then I tend to favor the latter theory. Maybe after the questionaire these people who loved superman would rather not be tied up with some weak volunteer program and be bossed around by 17 year old Key Clubbers but would rather walk the streets preventing crime and all that.

IAWTP.

Clearly, sarcasm is lost on some people.

Well, I definitely am a Superman fan as evidenced by my avatar and I *think* I try not to be a jerk, volunteer, and generally try to be a good person. I'm thinking their study may have been a little flawed or they got a bad crop of people.

What I'd like to know is how they got funding to do this study and where do I sign up?
