I think this was more the case in the Alpha because it was filled with players that are really excited about the game, but once it gets out into the public I fear that it might be a GTA Online kind of situation, where-in you really can't do anything without being shot. It may, however, just be a symptom of the user base and the game from which my fear originates. Red Dead Redemption also suffered from this.
In the end, I know that it's bound to happen and that's fine, but I'd like some sort of unspoken team work from time to time. I see it a lot in Elder Scrolls Online. If you see someone fighting a big enemy, it's not unusual for group of people to gather and help out.
Thing I like the most is that it's not a twitchy shooter. We need more slow methodical games and this seems to trend that way. Though I am afraid it will be too reliant on stats and eliminate skill out of the equation (by watching the accuracy/miss rate of weapons).
The base/hub areas and the open world are completely seamless, there's no equivalent of Destiny's orbit loading/matchmaking stage.
And you can definitely go into the pvp areas alone. It'll obviously be more risky than going in with a group, and there may be some encounters that aren't really possible solo, but there's nothing stopping you trying (and given that anyone can drop group at any point and shoot you in the back, even grouping up isn't exactly risk-free).
And remember that just because people can be dicks, doesn't necessarily mean they will be - they released some statistics after the alpha, and something like only 10% of players ever went rogue (ie, attacked other non-rogue players). The dark zone is a pvp-enabled area, but the primary source of loot there is still pve combat against AI.
I preordered on Amazon Spain and they say they will send them 2 weeks before the beta. Will try the chat tomorrow.
Do it via Amazon pre-order as has been discussed last couple pages.Do PS4 users get beta access?
Check the The Division Hub thread around the 12th of December.I see a lot of people saying that the alpha sold them on the game.
Can anyone elaborate? I want to be sold too?
That was unfinished, I imagine because there was no way to optimize it. It was a pretty expensive game already in terms of geometry. While I won't claim ACU got downgraded, where this at?

Yea, I looked up other videos and screenshots as well which show the effect working as advertised. Is it perfect, no, but I wouldn't call it outright broken. Plus this thread isn't about AC or a game made by Ubisoft Montreal. Massive has a history of being ahead of the curve in terms of visuals iirc not to mention they spent several years specifically on the development of the engine.did you watch the syndicate videos i linked to?
MFW=My face when.I have no idea what that acronym means lol
Thread still exists.Yeah wish I was around for the alpha feedback.
I am tempted to get this on pc but afraid the population will die out really quick compared to consoles. Does GAF do pc game groups like they have for console?
quote to see about 50 minutes of alpha, its been re-encoded and the game does look a lot better then what I downloaded. But its probably the best quality gameplay we have had so far. Also it seems most of it is wandering and just walking around as the story mission really isn't till after he ended the video which is when you unlock the hub.
Still can't wait to wander around new york finding all the collectibles.

Is there a character creation in this or is everyone gonna look almost similar just like Destiny?
alpha it was random only and customization wasn't implemented. But you could see the basic options that will eventually be there most likely in the beta.
What's the beta date again? Thinking of preordering to get in.

It's still just listed for this month. No exact date yet.

There are going to be problems with this game when it launches.
Just betting on typical ubisoft issues. I didn't know Rainbow Six had issues. Man.Inside info or just a guess? Cause the latter is really easy to make given Rainbow Six Siege issues.

Will this game have a single player campaign?
As much I as hate getting ganked. In live, you should expect playersto behave like dicks because it is PvP.I think this was more the case in the Alpha because it was filled with players that are really excited about the game, but once it gets out into the public I fear that it might be a GTA Online kind of situation, where-in you really can't do anything without being shot. Darkzone you can do by yourself also. After playing the alpha i noticed alot of people prefer just to extract their loot also instead of going roque and shoot you. Sure its tense when standing their for the chopper to come but its not that everytime you have loot you get shot.
Also darkzone is just a section on the map. To get in there you just walk over there and then you walk through some kind of hub where you can buy stuff and when you go out on the other side you are in the darkzone and see other players.
I'm just worried that dark zones seem to be the devs answer for end game content.
Without Raids or elaborate "dungeons", I'm afraid it'll get boring quickly.
