New Xbox Game Pass Games for July 2022

These are all the games that have been announced for June so far, and we haven't even had the second monthly drop announcements yet.

Far Cry 5
Yakuza 0/Kiwami/Kiwami 2
Last Call BBS
Matchpoint Tennis
DJMax Respect V
Road 96
My Friend Peppa Pig
Overwhelm
Paw Patrol
PowerWash Sim
Escape Academy
As Dusk Falls
Immortality
Solasta
House Flipper
Read that list. Excluding the games already on GamePass, that's pretty terrible stuff.

@ Captain Toad Captain Toad what is wrong with @SEGA_2012's post? They like that game and maxed out the achievements in a couple of other entries, why can't someone tell us that? LOL

It was even done in a joking sarcastic way because they new it probably wasn't a popular game with the regular users here. Have you never liked a game that reviewed poorly or that most people didn't like?

I bought all those Yakuza titles with the discount before they left GamePass the last time they were on, and they were deserving of the money so no regrets. Some smaller titles there to check out, whilst I still have many titles from previous months I haven't gotten around to yet. Hoping for a bigger title to drop in the second batch of the month though.

Half or more of the list is day 1 or week 1 games that don't even have any point of reference for reviews or opinions yet to come to that conclusion.

While I don't disagree, I'd find it hard to argue that there isn't $7.50 worth of entertainment listed, especially if you have young kids or like jet washing.

Most of that list are games that sites aren't ever going to bother reviewing in the first place.

Tons of games release on all platforms basically daily. Most won't get reviewed because they're honestly not worth the effort and nobody cares.

I don't see people holding their breath to read in-depth analysis of stuff like House Flipper, Powerwash Simulator or Paw Patrol.

Gamepass giving exposure to otherwise forgotten gems and potential franchises. Everybody wins. We might get powerwash sim 2 or maybe even a crossover with house flipper in some meta Gamepass connected universe.

I think your being a little hasty here writing these games off, everyone deserves a chance.

She's just looking for things to bitch about. She's also crying about me liking posts in Sony threads AGAIN, that really upsets her. Paw Patrol, emojis and especially Game Pass turns her into a bitchy little girl. :pie_roffles:

I can't tell you how many games like Tunic, Outer Wilds, Last Stop, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, Weird West, The Procession to Calvary etc I wouldn't have been exposed to or tried were it not for them being on the service.

I swear some folks won't be happy until they only get 10 over the shoulder AAA shooters with 95+ on metacritic, otherwise the service is utterly doomed. :pie_eyeroll:

Exactly.

Plus they've already got my sub and everyone else's on here probably, makes sense to start swinging again come September when consoles will be presumably easier to get hold of and games/ game pass subs will surely sell the most. Summers always been a bit shit for new stuff, Gamepass can't magic 3rd party AAA games out of thin air.

For those not happy, what games currently available are there that you'd like to see on the service this month?

You know what else people are tired of hearing? People that come into Game Pass threads to constantly complain and spread negativity.

If you don't like Game Pass and Game Pass threads, cancel it and ignore Game Pass threads.

Says the guy in every PlayStation thread liking any comment saying something negative about PS.

I'm a paying GamePass subscriber, at least, for now. Can you say the same about all those PlayStation games you lurk in the threads looking for haters to quietly like their posts?

I'm starting to think Gamepass may actually end up becoming a liability for Xbox...

1. Software sales are discouraged as more and more people are more focused on just "playing it on Gamepass". This leads to an overall mindshare that leads to a decrease in overall software sales.

2. Due to software sales being generally lower on the Xbox platform, some publishers (esp Japanese) may see the platform as more of a liability than releasing titles on Sony or Nintendo's platform. So, they may begin approaching MS with the mindset of "Sure, we will put it on Xbox, provided it's on Gamepass". In a sense this is probably exactly what happened with ATLUS when putting the Persona series on the platform and is almost guaranteed with Kojima's game.

3. This means MS is constantly paying OUT just to have games on their platform. This can't be realistically sustainable, especially if subscriptions drop or if Gamepass price increases too much (causing people to drop subscriptions).

TL;DR Gamepass = less software sales = less publisher confidence = more spending to get games on the platform = more money draining out of MS pockets = Profit..??

Edit: I should've just made this post into a new thread 😅...🤔
It's not a GP thread if there isn't at least one high-level market analyst so thank you for trying.

1. There's no indication that software sales are decreasing because of GP, in fact since GP launched five years ago MS almost doubled its gaming division revenue. Once you factor in digital sales most games have a sales split fairly close to the market share split (see Elden Ring for example).

2. In the past those games weren't coming to Xbox at all, now they come via GP deals. I see it as an improvement and it seems aside from SE no JP developer makes PS exclusive games anymore.

3. There hasn't been any price increase or subscriber drop in the past five years so it seems a bit of misplaced concern. But how does your reasoning work, shouldn't software sales increase again if GP subscribers decrease? Isn't your entire point that one replaces the other?

Not any thing that really interest me since I got all of the Yakuza games on the PS4 Pro but the Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol are great for those with small kids who are interested in gaming. Can't really hate on it.

Gonna give Matchpoint Tennis, Last Call BBS, and Power Wash Simulator a try.
Power Wash Simulator has 97% positive on Steam. If that's your jam then it seems like a good time.

Not for me mind has I have a power washer coming this weekend and the driveway's been needing doing for a while, no simulator required.

Power washing is really satisfying in real life. That's why I want to give the game a try. Gonna give House Flipper a shot, too.
There's something oddly satisfying watching the crap melt off stuff as you wash it.

Power wash Simulator could be that get high, and follow the lines kind of game.

I can't wait to check it out when I'm real fucked up.

You say you are a "subscriber" but you get off on the games leaving, until we make fun of you or already own the games coming (even if they are day 1 releases)

I think you are full of shit.

Nice Yakuza is back. Happy for the people that haven't experienced it yet. For newcomers my advice is make sure you use a game guide to find equipment/items that reduce enemy encounters and it will make your experience much more fun.

From what I have seen most people that have played the series are hyped after playing the first 3 games Y0, K1, K2 then get disappointed with Yakuza 3, then feel ok about Yakuza 4 then back to being hyped again after 5, 6 and Like a Dragon.

Lots of Yakuza love. Is it Wednesday ;)?

Last Call BBS like using an Amiga in the 90s and getting kicked off the l33t boards by the sysop for being a lamer or something?

Do I play the Yakuza games in numerical order? I've only played a bit of Like A Dragon but since I rarely use the PS5 I'll never finish it there.

I've been making my characters for hours in Solastra. Shit is intense. I feel like I'm taking a college history course. Im trying to determine what religion my hill dwarf paladin should be right now.

Start with 0 for the best experience.

0 > Kiwami 1 > Kiwami 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 > Like A Dragon

A meh month. FC and Yakuza games are the standouts. The rest are indie games I never heard of before although somehow I remember Powerwash Sim from somewhere. lol

How the hell did they miss a massive oversight by not letting you set custom length for career mode matches in Matchpoint.

I want to play a good tennis game but I don't want every match to be actual length :messenger_loudly_crying:

Maybe you should mind your own business. I subscribed to Gamepass and I have every right to call a bad month out.

I'll pay the least possible amount for both subs and games, it's not job to set prices up.

I already own these Yakuza games on PlayStation btw, no need for you to worry.
Still waiting on your Xbox gamer tag so I can add you.

The month isn't filled with bigger releases, but it may be a good opportunity to test smaller titles. I've already tried many games I'd be scared of buying and some of them ended up being cool (and I actually purchased them for PC or PS).

Why would I add you? The last thing I want is to add anyone for Neogaf to stalk me. On PC all I have is a random gamertag that is generated automatically and I have more than one account anyway.

Played Shalashasta all day yesterday. Had to basically restart my game. Battle #4 was basically impossible. I swear to god I have a ranger that has never rolled anything above a 4. Just constant misses literally every turn. I have a halfling sorceror called Magic Mike that has no spells worth a damn. I just got steamrolled. Tried it over and over. Gotta say I nearly spit out my drink after I rolled consecurtive 1s and one of the other party members was like "you SUCK."

Giving it one last serious try, because the game has a ton of potential when it isn't shitting the bed.

Anyone tried DJ MAX RESPECT out yet? I'm thinking off giving it a go, I did some Bladepoint Naraka but I find it a bit janky, I can see the appeal, but I don't think it is for me.

I also find it odd I'm winning despite not really having an idea how to play the game. *Shrugs*

I also grabbed Ender Lilies on the last game sale and think I'll play that next :)

I got it downloaded and will try it tonight. I'm sure it's pretty good. I was a little too dismissive of it initially. It's a day one GP release, and the first time DJ Max has been on Xbox. Pretty cool.

Historically, I haven't been that into the series though. It's quality, but doesn't click for me like Project DIVA does.

I like the look off it, I'm just curious how it controls, I'm hoping it plays similiar rockband blitz feeling wise or maybe even amplitude :)

How can anyone say that new Zachtronics game is terrible stuff. You personally and other people like you are responsible for how shitty current gaming market state is.
Absolutely! I'd much rather paly a new Zachtronics game (such a shame this will be their last) than 90% of the soulless AAA mediocrity being put out these days.

glad i haven't invested on an xbox console lol
made some good haul on steam summer sale, this summer game pass won't get much attention from me i guess

I'll make you a deal. If you can prove to the mods you have an active Xbox Gamertag and that it's you, (that wasn't made yesterday) I'll donate 50$ to the charity of your choice AND I won't bother you anymore. Fair? Everyone wins.

What's stopping him just asking another user or friend for their tag? Just to put you out of pocket? :p

Also anthony2690 is a good charity worth investing in!
