The 360 is STILL the system of indie titles. Microsoft may be strict, but they still advertise AND sell more indie games/exclusives on the 360 than Sony with the PS3.

And the vast majority of japanese titles came exclusively on the 360 anyway. Half a dozen exclusive RPGs, cave shooters, 2d xbla titles, etc...

Sony fans spreading FUD enough times doesn't make their BS true.

I see many games being Xbox exclusive when this is over. The power difference will be too tempting, that and the superior services. Wouldn't be shocked if PS4 is dead on arrival.

That is actually what I am going over in my mind right now. Is their strategy. Announce as much buy in with 3rd parties now. And then IP's at E3 where everyone will be. Could work and would be using the extra coverage to their advantage.

Bungie is free to say "Destiny is coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and PS4".

I'm sure The Watch Dog team can mention PS4 as well.

There's a slight change that Microsoft bought Battlefield 4 as a Next Gen exclusive.

They probably have a marketing deal with Sony to closely associate those games with the Playstation brand. Watch_Dogs and AC3 especially have been closely associated with PS4. Same with CoD on 360. I expect that to continue with CoD for Durango and EA games to be marketed like with the Xbox logo all over them and exclusive DLC but, with the exception of Respawn's game, no full titles will be exclusive for any period of time. This works well in both companies' favor since EA won't risk losses on not having a PS4 version but Microsoft still gets all the brand association that would come with an exclusive title.

1) The 360 was coming off the the atrociously bad original Xbox. (Preception wise)
2) Japanese gamers aren't that into online games.
3) Consoles are a dying breed anyway.
4) Microsoft simply isn't a Japanese company.

But what does the system not selling in Japan have to do with the fact that the 360 still had a shitload of obsucre Japanese games and JRPGS as exclusives.

I doubt it. It's possible it will initially be a current gen release with a next gen port a little later. They couldv'e also said for "next gen" consoles like Bungie did with Destiny. My guess is right now the game is designed and focused for release on the mentioned systems. I think people are worried for nothing.

Honestly if they announce that they are lead platform for CoD again my mind is made up plain and simple. Hopefully they pull off a similiqr BF contract as well to sway more of my IRL friends to Xbox.

In the big picture even though these games are multi-platform casuals will see them attached to a console showing and think wow look at those games I need that console.

If this gen lasted at least 8 years and will probably survive at least 1-2 more years, wouldn't it make sense for both MS and Sony to have extremely powerful hardware? These systems will most likely last within the same time-frame if not longer. So I do find it hard to believe that the new xbox will be that much weaker than the PS4, but who knows. Especially since the PS4 isn't even seen as being stronger than most gaming computers today.

I always looked at next gen being ahead of the curve.

These systems will most likely last within the same time-frame if not longer. So I do find it hard to believe that the new xbox will be that much weaker than the PS4, but who knows. Especially since the PS4 isn't even seen as being stronger than most gaming computers today.
