I dont think the Battlefields, CoDs and FIFAs are gonna be exclusive next gen but you can see what Microsoft is doing here. They are gonna have the reveal for the 3 biggest franchises this gen at their event so it will have maximum exposure. I mean compared to what Sony showed(Killzone, Infamous, Knack, etc.), this is gonna blow it away in terms of buzz and exposure for the Next Xbox and the event itself. Brilliant move Microsoft.

I have to agree. I was completely bored with the software part of Sonys PS4 show. I loved all the hardware talk and controller stuff though.

I agree, even if the content isn't as good, or they show mainly multiplatform regurgitated stuff, it will get exposure just because of the brand power of the aforementioned franchises.

What type of logic is that? MS's marketing/controller/services most of there first party efforts and publishing deals are focused on a western audience. They tried to push in Japan and gave up shortly after. Both Resistances and Killzone have garnered critical and commercial success so I don't agree there's anything about them that's "uninspired," but that's your opinion.

Dudebro system is the perception of the platform, and while there are other genres/titles to play from, it's not what's most popular and defines the platform.

Pretty much before Sony got their act together.

The 360 is STILL the system of indie titles. Microsoft may be strict, but they still advertise AND sell more indie games/exclusives on the 360 than Sony with the PS3.

And the vast majority of japanese titles came exclusively on the 360 anyway. Half a dozen exclusive RPGs, cave shooters, 2d xbla titles, etc...

Sony fans spreading FUD enough times doesn't make their BS true.

They have mentioned the PS4 version in the past and DICE is excited for PS4. CrazyButtocks also said that Respawn's game is the only exclusive title from EA. They probably have a marketing deal that will associate all of EA's games closely with the next Xbox so they aren't talking it up yet.

I would love for them to show that they didn't give up on Japan. The 360 sold way more than the xbox did so there is improvement. Clearly not as much as they would like, but there is clear improvement. MS need to secure a lot of japanese games as exclusives if they wanted to take over Japan. However we all know that will not happen.

Just because First Person shooters are more popular in the 360 (The controller is not ass), doesn't mean Microsoft is a dudebro system. Microsoft certainly is not a dudebro developer, they had nice variety.

yeah, but with E3 right around the corner, how much will it really matter?

Interesting strategy though...BF4 has already debuted (and looks amazing) but if COD/Madden/FIFA show up first on a MS console, it could be a good move for this holiday season and market perception, but I dunno, gamers aren't stupid, and the "masses" likely won't be buying a ton of new consoles this year, So I think whoever has the best REAL exclusive content will come out on top this time. They are both starting the race on equal footing and at the same time this gen.

I don't think the media attention would be particularly positive for that to be honest. CoD and Fifa are two of the most ubiquitous and predictable series in gaming. These are known products. Obviously I expect them to show something new, otherwise it would be very stale showing.
