If this gen lasted at least 8 years and will probably survive at least 1-2 more years, wouldn't it make sense for both MS and Sony to have extremely powerful hardware? These systems will most likely last within the same time-frame if not longer. So I do find it hard to believe that the new xbox will be that much weaker than the PS4, but who knows. Especially since the PS4 isn't even seen as being stronger than most gaming computers today.

I always looked at next gen being ahead of the curve.

But really. If you look at Killzone 4. It looks amazing. To enjoy a game and be stunned by it. Do you really need better graphics then that?

its so crazy how hardware from 2005 can push out games like Tomb Raider. Granted they are better on PC but not 7 years difference in hardware better.

I hope that we can get past the framerate arguments and graphic arguments and move onto gameplay stuff this gen.

You didn't clarify your third point about Japan. It sounded like you were referring to consoles as a whole everywhere.

His whole response was about Japan. The PS3 hasn't even reached 10 million yet has it? I think the 3DS has already surpassed that milestone.

It's kind of a weird generation both for Microsoft and Sony because even this late in thr game the consoles are still rather pricey.

I'm not complaining. Just still find it hard to believe that MS would want to be seen as weaker from the start. The 360 being weaker than the PS3 is still somewhat debatable. Besides when the 360 came out it was ahead of the curve. Just can't see MS being so far behind, but who knows. they probably looked at the wii and said lets see if we can get away with it too.
