Youre welcome.

So yeah...they look awesome. Look to be from the same build as before, but no shock that it still looks amazing.

There are some nasty textures in there...hopefully they'll be cleaned up in a later build.

Also, where'd you get these?

I'm not too impressed. The horse doesn't seem to have fur, for example. While I'm sure Zelda will be the better game, SFA impressed me more when it comes to graphics and that was two years ago.

Oh man, criticize Nintendo's marketing all you want, say that the company is weak and is doomed to become a third-party. I know I do it. But it's amazing the joy that three screens will bring and the paradigm mentality shift. Oh boy, this is good. Real good. And there's still plenty of time to make the game look better, these are relatively early screens considering that the game comes out in a year.

Well, for one thing, horses in general don't have fur...

Good point, but seriously, they are great-looking screens, but room for improvement is there. This should get everyone excited.

Yikes, some nasty low res textures on that creature. None of the other textures seem that impressive either. Some nice modeling on Link tho.

This game will look better when it's released, Zelda 64 and Wind Waker looked significantly better on release compared to their initial unveiling, I bet this game will be no different. I think EAD put most of their effort on building actual game content first (building the game world, establishing the general artstyle, story, gameplay mechanics, etc), and concentrate on fine-tuning the visuals in the last stretch of the development cycle, that's a safer approach to meet deadlines.

where are these coming from? Horse combat could be fun if it isn't too simple. The look over the shoulder is nice. real nice.

Title New Zelda images (GC) inside *looks inside*

so much for your "blatant false advertising" tag.

Holy shit, look the vastness of the world. And you know you'll be able to go anywhere you can see.
I pray the overworld isn't like that bland POS Hyrule Field in OoT.

link's new design is too cluttered and fussy. looks bad up close.

It's clear there are Tolkien influences, but it's not too bad, IMO. I think he's been taken care of the most. The horse, Epona or not, still looks a bit shoddy, in my humble opinion.

I actually think Link's design is modest. Certainly more complicated than past Links, but nothing near "cluttered".

My only concern, as far as these screens are concerned, are the somewhat offensive textures on that one enemy. I suspect it won't be noticeable in motion, though.

I'd be one to disagree. The modelling on the creature (AND link) is fantastic. the textures don't scream "lo res" , just average compared to the exceptional work done on Link himself.

Average? The textures on that creature look like something out of a n64 or voodoo1 era game. Although if textures and detail were sacrificed for a big open world to explore (as seems to be the case with most games like this), I'd have no problem with that.

I would take draw distance from these shots with a grain of salt, the background in that particular shot could easily be a mockup. I'm not saying it is, I just don't wanna set myself up for disappointment, it's still very early and we've seen very little of this game.

I agree.

I'd also be fine with the questionable horse modeling if it was due to allowing for battling big crowds of enemies at a high frame rate. :)

I think it's a type of "arena" environment, actually, where you do battle with this army in an empty field without boundaries. The background is probably just that, a background that always scales away from you.

Hmm, appears to be a bit of a mixed bag. That one with the horse looks pretty good. That first one looks disgustingly bad. The last one looks good as far as Link is concerned, but something just looks really wrong with that picture in general.

They all look better than Wind Waker easily, though.

Yeah it doesn't look like a "real" background to me, i.e a place you can visit, it's too generic to be a game area... All backgrounds that were part of the gameworld in Ocarina of Time had very distinct landmarks to distinguish them.

i'm not sure what it is. there are just too many ugly little details on that model. the embroidery and stitching and filigree on every surface. the tunic over the chainmail over the leggings. maybe it's because the clothing is stiff and the textures are hazy, but link looks entombed in ugly flourishes. like a tasteless piece of furniture.

It is rather bland, but I'm sure remember, these are early screens. Hopefully as more are released, it's scope will appear bigger and more plausible. In any event, the game looks great and it will deliver.
