New Zelda images (GC) inside

Dude! Wrong genitals. BAIL OUT!

Yeah... I kind of agree. After playing Wind Waker I was really looking forward to another cel shaded Zelda game, the best thing about Wind Waker was the cel shaded graphics, though as a Zelda game I felt it was lacking. I had hope that the next Zelda would be really good AND cel shaded. Oh well, this new one still looks great, and hopefully Nintendo make another cel shaded one in the future.

Celda more or less rules the roost as far as cell shading goes. It's the one thing Nintendo got right this generation.

Hell, I'd love to see Wayforward use that same graphics engine for a cell shaded GC Shantae. That would rock Satanic cat ass!

Zelda games always get me excited. I really hope that this isn't just Ocarina reloaded and it has some actually story depth. I don't merely want to beat Ganon again and save Zelda. These screens are great, but I'll reserve my judgment on the game when I read some impressions at the very least. Declaring it GOTY 2005 is a bit foolish. One trailer and three screens isn't enough for that.

They probably won't, too many haters and whiners. Link is now cursed into maturity forever.

I'm loathe to say it too, but I think they should move this title to Revolution as well (UNLESS and this is a big unless, they ahve Mario 128 ready for Revolution launch). Otherwise there is no other game in the Nintendo world that would move more systems than Zelda would at launch (other than the afformentioned Mario 128).

Memories of what?

I'm not Nintendo's target audience. In fact, this mature Zelda crap ticks me off. Celda was a wonderful looking game, that could have used a heaping helping of polish - so that it played as nicely as it looked. I was looking forward to a sequel for that one, not this crap.

I was looking forward to a sequel to the Chuck Jones inspired antics of Celda and not this angsty teenager. I just don't make the connection from the NES and SNES short fat Link to this Image / Cliffhanger comics look. Link, pissed off? What?!

Hey, at least it looks better than those brown and green N64 stinkers, now you can see brown and green for miles sans the yellow fog. A sharp stick in the eye looks better than any damned N64 game though. :X

I'm more alarmed by the lack of detail in the enemies.

Though the rest of your post was er... not really relevant to the point made.

Zelda has been used before to combat new technology. Oracles were used against the GBA launch, Minish Cap against the DS, Majora'a Mask against the PS2, LOZ against Xbox 2?

No, I believe the problem is it's implied I should have a memory of some mature link fighting Turok rejects, as opposed to me having an outright adverse reaction to some N64 looking freak monster. :P

Anyhow, it's time to cover my head in Ben Gay and go to sleep. Mmmmmmm. . .

Oh, I forgot about that... good point... this is definately a game that can deflect a system launch somewhat.

Sad yet true - one of the main reasons why I quit playing Ocarina of Time for awhile was that it seemed just a tad too much like Link to the Past (add to that my concerned love affair with 2D pixels were now dying). Throw hate on me all you want but I seriously quit playing for a few weeks if not months after I did the Forest Temple. Of course I was young, full of untainted blood.. but eventually I got around to enjoying a bit after.

No, Socreges is right. You said about them putting so much detail into Link that they sacrificed detail from enemies. I post 3 pics of enemies with great detail, showing that your memory sucks if you think that (assuming you'd seen the Zelda E3 trailer). There's nothing else to it.

Well I wouldn't call either Link to the Past or even Majora's Mask "rehashes," I believe both of those titles had a distinctly different fell to them. Wind Waker was more like Ocarina, but the sailing aspect added a whole new flavor. I'm praying this new Zelda isn't Ocarina of Time with horse-fighting.

It may have been taken as such if you hadn't said:

I think Nintendo needs to see if Sony pushes back FFXII to the PS3 or any other big game. Then follow.

I don't know about that, closing the generation with a huge title like this might give Nintendo a good amount of momentum going into the next one. I'm all for these late releases. It looks like Nintendo is taking advantage Microsoft's focus on Xbox 2 next year. Surprisingly aggressive for a company that's afraid of online gaming.

Could TTOB explain how the gameplay was lacking in 'Celda'?

The game I played had tighter controls and better combat than OoT.

New Zelda will be released on GC. Anyhow, I think Super Mario 128 could be a launch Revolution title.

Nintendo better launch Revolution with a Mario game. Hopefully it's just a kick-butt Mario platformer with some nifty twist (that isn't a water cannon).

DId a little cleaning up to the wallpaper posted earlier.

Sweet. Thanks for the pic.

I think I stared at it for 10 minutes just imagining what could be on the far side of that filed... forests? Anciet ruins? the border to the desert where ganan rules...?

Just one year... ;__;

Regarding Zelda 2005 being a Revolution launch title, I highly doubt it. You have to remember that Nintendo has gone on record stating that the Revolution will be backwards compatible with Gamecube software.

That means that Zelda 2005 can be released late in the Gamecube life cycle and still be purchased for the first time for people who skip Gamecube and wait for the Revolution.

I'd also like to note that people are extremely fickle. I can't believe how many people are now *complaining* about Zelda 2005's graphics. When the trailer first debuted, everyone was gaga. Months later, 3 measily screenshots are shown and people freak about about textures and enemy design.

The game looks just as incredible in those 3 screens as it does in the trailer. Period.

Why do people want the next Zelda and Mario games to launch on the next systems? As a consumer, I want these games on the system I already own. Why encourage waiting 2 years and spend hundreds of dollars more for a game you can have on your current system? Is company policy and strategy that important to some of you? Or is it the benefits the next-generation systems can potentially offer? Either way I don't quite understand.

Oh, and nice job on the wallpaper jiggle. :)

Nintendo would be wise to make a Zelda bundle close to the Revolution's launch.

Certainly the Revolution could be bundled with 'the backwards compatible' Gamecube software, Zelda 2005. Why not? That would be an amazing deal for everyone, just make it a collectors version so those that already purchased it on Gamecube would be getting a nice free collector version with the purchase of the Revolution.

Zelda would make a great launch title for the next generation of Nintendo hardware alongside with Mario 128. I highly doubt a Gamecube title could push hardware sales for the Revolution. Backwards compatible or not, players want to buy Revolution titles with their shiny new Revolution hardware.

Unless they put hidden features unlockable only on Revolution. :D

Personally I want this to still come out on GC

the Revolution is set to launch in what 2006? Give me a Metroid and Mario game to launch it with and I'm happy
