Ubisoft is doubling down on greed and stupidity, in my opinion

Could work. I don't care for them linking in that the creative director is leaving trying to insinuate that its linked or something lol For all we know that man was always leaving after he gave an outline for the next game or something.

Far Cry has had the whole buddies thing before with co-op and AI pals and such so such a concept can work if done correctly but they need to strike a balance.

AI and offline MUST BE the default. Wildlands got it correct and I saw no reason to try to force some shit with that other Ghost Reacon that followed.

The always make changes and adjust based on what the community states and trends etc so I expect them to have those options as we've seen them do that before.

AC Unity launched in such bad shape, they got rid of the yearly release.

People complained about the sameyness, they put out a open world RPG of it.

People cried about that so they put out remasters and the new AC title will be made along side the normal open world RPG AC ones that they do so we have both.

So for all the shit they get, they do change things and do things differently after things go wrong, so I'm hoping the look at what went wrong with that Ghost Reacon game and make sure its still a Far Cry single player title with MP and not ONLINE ALWAYS forced or something.

KormaChameleon KormaChameleon sure but many bitch on hear, yet those games break records for Ubisoft right now so they are not going anywhere lol

so doesn't really sound like the majority really care tbh. We might talk about this a lot, but most really don't give a shit. People online always try to make things sound like this DOOM and or GLOOM lol

They are making a classic style AC game? First I've heard of it.

That AC Infinity thing is not the only AC being made.

I'm not sure exactly what they are doing with it, simply that the rumor states an older AC will be remade in it, its inspired by AC Unity, small linear and semi-open world etc.

The fact that another team is still making a open world RPG light AC title that is separate from this proves they indeed are splitting the series (as they should have from the start imho).

All of this is still speculation though.

Well then. Looks like I'm not touching this game with a twenty foot pole then if this is legitimate. Probably is true because isn't the next Assassin's Creed a live service game? Live service or GAAS will ruin everything it touches. I don't mind that they exist, but they need to stop shoehorning it into existing franchises.

All you people complaining about GaaS, you better not be the sames ones complaining that the FC formula is getting stale. This shit is in the pits, I don't care what happens, it can only go up from here.

Unkess they shake up the brand deeply i'm not gonna touch another ac or fc.
Pop quiz: Did you say this same thing last year or the year before?
Not accusing you personally, but I feel like a lot of people do this, so why not set up a checkpoint and ask.

I think one reason why we keep hearing the same criticism over and over again is the fact that the devs have simply failed to innovate in a meaningful way. no body expects a revlolution these days but some evolution has to happen. unfortunately, opinions are divided on the definition of the latter

Wouldn't surprise me. Assassins Creed is going the same route if my memory is right.

That way they would in theory reduces whatever the costs they have while still delivery the same poop quality of Ubisoft games. It can only get worse with time I'm afraid.

So Far Cry will be GAAS and the next AC will be as well ...........and Skull and Bones is as well (if it comes out)................the industry is going in a direction that could kill it.

But it will most certainly have MTX and GaaS elements.

Of course it will, GaaS games usually are free games infested with microtransactions. They obviously gonna requires paid elements in conjuction with either gatcha or MTX(the latter in this case).
If anything the costs for the game it will remain the same, gonna guess the consumer can buy either physically or digitally the game normally even though its a GaaS.

This means nothing. Forza Horizon is a live service game and no one is hating it for that. The title of the post could be "UBI BAD XD!" And nothing changes

I love open world games in general, but ubisoft missed the target with the latest 2 ac\fc so i'm gonna be more selective in the future.

But to answer your question, i only buy some of them, like i didn't bought fc4 or the dlc for 5 and barely played any old ac until the big change with origins.

I payed 10 dollars of ubi pass to play both valhalla and fc6 and got bored after a while, thanks ubi pass :lollipop_squinting:

Do they just add an island as part of a season or something like that? FOMO Fortnite comes to Farcry.

Because taking a crap on a turd will somehow make it better?

So mobile didn't kill consoles - it killed AAA games by turning them into mobile-type games?

Just end the franchise. Its going nowhere. Some of these western publishers are in desperate need of new ip. Ubisoft have been cycling the same shit for a decade.
So much this. I know the cost of making games has gone up exponentially which causes developers to do things like this, but we need new IPs.

it will fell even more then, like each and every shitfest that is gaas, im eagearly waiting to see it bomb =D

Without even reading anything other than the thread title I'll say this:

Giant, multinational gaming corporations like Ubisoft would be foolish to not incorporate their largest and most recognizable IPs into GAAS constructs. Honestly, their shareholders would have grounds for lawsuits if they didn't.

This big business shit is why I'm mostly drawn to indies these days, but there are exceptions. Either way, we all must accept this reality - our hobby is big, with big financial stakes and everything that comes with it.

"Live service?" As in you have to pay a fee to play?
