next Far Cry reportedly a live-service game, creative director leaves Ubisoft

Without even reading anything other than the thread title I'll say this:

Giant, multinational gaming corporations like Ubisoft would be foolish to not incorporate their largest and most recognizable IPs into GAAS constructs. Honestly, their shareholders would have grounds for lawsuits if they didn't.

This big business shit is why I'm mostly drawn to indies these days, but there are exceptions. Either way, we all must accept this reality - our hobby is big, with big financial stakes and everything that comes with it.
that's exactly why I find myself drawn to indie titles, which I used to belittle when I was younger. games like The Little Nightmares, Inside, and 12 minutes are the reason why I am still playing because I gave up on the dream of a proper splinter cell or Hitman a long time ago and I've clean forgotten about what it feels like playing a proper assassin in an AC game, and I know my hopes for another KZ or the Order 1886 are dashed
