AC looks decent for cross-gen, shame AC isn't actually AC anymore. Wasn't a gameplay trailer either like they said, was just in-engine.
Rest of the stream was terrible.
Yeah it's such a shame. the spirit of the first game and the Ezio trilogy has died out in the most recent games and they've moved to more RPG genre, I know some people prefer that but what made Assassins Creed special was those first few games. My imagination goes crazy thinking about what a game like Assassins Creed 2 with it's story/narrative and game design would look like on a next-gen console.AC looks decent for cross-gen, shame AC isn't actually AC anymore. Some of those games looked interesting. People need to remember that the start of any gen is always just that, a start. These are 3rd party games, that will also be coming to other systems. So technically have no choice but to make it so they can also run on the lowest available systems (Xboxone and PS4).
A few years down the line games will only get better.
You think games will suddenly look better in ~5-6 months when the consoles released?Reverse-thruster as far as hype for next-gen is concerned. Seriously the only thing noteworthy was AC Valhalla and Ubisoft are being ever the cock-tease. 50 secs of 'gameplay', talk about taking the piss. No idea why MS rushed this show, if the intent was to build hype for next-gen, then the net result was zero. If the intent was to sell Gamepass, then it did a good job.
Sony should take their time, no need to put on a show if the next-gen content isn't fully ready. I have waited for so long, few months of wait won't faze me.

And neither will be available to purchase.. likely until August or so.It was a fair selection of games to announce, but I didn't see absolutely anything to show off "the power of next-gen", so to speak... They also went out of their way to say that first party games will be shown in July. That's surprisingly late.
This could be a bit of a marketing blunder by Microsoft, as it did almost nothing to show you a reason to buy an XSX over current gen. If they really don't have anything serious until July, they are leaving a huge empty space for Sony to portray PS5 in the spotlight as the "actual" next-gen console.

So cross generation games still look like shit as always.
And lower your expectations in general for next gen IMO. Most games won't look much better than what we see on PC now.
Nobody's saying this isn't the case. Doesn't make it any better. Meh.Some of those games looked interesting. People need to remember that the start of any gen is always just that, a start. My point is that this could be perceived as a big bait-and-switch, just like Cerny's PS5 technical talk (going by the dislikes on YouTube, it probably was). And neither will be available to purchase.. likely until August or so.
As long as nobody fucks up with polcicies or anything like the DRM fiasco last year, that final impression when the products can actually be ordered is what will matter most.
I expect Sony to have their biggest showing right near pre-orders to for that very reason.
People wanting to see what 3rd party games will come out early next gen?My point is that this could be perceived as a big bait-and-switch, just like Cerny's PS5 technical talk (going by the dislikes on YouTube, it probably was).
With that one, at least, "we" nerds got something useful. I have no idea who this was supposed to be for, especially after advertising and pumping it up for a week.
I really hope that next gen isn't just current gen at 4K.

Next gen games time boys. Hype all around
"Yeah... That's why we decided not to show third parties. See you in October, suckers!"So is Sony going to tweet something in an hour? That would be funny.

The games are ready to show.. this is what people should expect from 3rd parties for an early generation.

I meant early in the generation. This is parroted at start of every-gen and never comes true once next-gen only games start arriving. Boot GTA V on your PC at max, then run RDR2 on your PS4 Pro/Xbox One X and let me know if you think those two games are anywhere near in same ball park as far as visual fidelity is concerned.
Has there ever been an Inside Xbox episode people weren't basically furious with?
lol
