Sometimes I think Nintendo is the only company who knows how make a streaming of videogames,
Play is bad doing States and Xbox well they love to have a cheerleader on stage at e3 and when
they are not there, you already saw the results.

Oh like current gen was 1080p of the last gen? Yeah it feels like so. Remember when 360 and PS3 would deliver 1080p?

With last gen we didn't have to wait long to see next gen looking games.

i see alot of graphics talk which is weird. i mean sure is there like "OMFG NEXT GEN MELTS EYES LOOK AT WHAT THOSE 30 DUDES DID?"
yeah it aint. but these are games from small studios with not as much horsepower as needed to really create all the assets at a level u need to get one over of the likes of TLOUp2
In gerneral the graphics that were shown were really good, some with smaller things missing from this gen. and of course, pretty much all of them are cross gen.

wait for ps5 reveal. then the big graphics games are coming. will it be quite a step up? yeah i think so.
but how much better? i dont know TLOUp2 looks incredible already.

Idk I think the games looked pretty good for is being 3rd party and a start of the next gen. Maybe people expectations were too high but at least we got something.

People wanting to see what 3rd party games will come out early next gen?

That's how it was advertised... as gameplay trailers from 3rd parties. Those trailers were exactly what we've gotten out of "gameplay trailers" since.. forever.

This show was somehow literally EXACTLY what I personally expected... because I can read..and this isn't my first new console generation. What's everyone else's excuse? Seriously.
I know what 3rd party means, and I can read, thank you.

What I mean is that this was the real first show-off of next gen software from Microsoft, they pumped it up quite a bit and I guess a lot of people expected a few bigger names than what at an E3 show would have been the filler material. You don't need a live event to publish a bunch of indie and AA games' generic pre-recorded trailers. The moment you make an event and push it as "first look at next-gen games", with "optimized for XSX" and everything else, you set up expectations for at least a show-stopper of any kind, either by name or by graphics.

TBC I'm not talking about me personally, I don't give a damn when and how they show what. I'm just making the point that people will see it that way, just like it happened for Sony's GDC talk.

Not sure what all of you were expecting. Big 3rd party games with huge teams working on it aren't shown at their event. They have their own event, which is why the whole summer fest thing exists. I like that Microsoft takes the time to let smaller studios show case their work. If it's not your taste well then play other games, has nothing to do with the system since most of these will also release on the PS5.
First I was expecting someone who can edit a video as a professional not that, some games runing in a dev kit not a pc with similar specs.

The presentation was awfull if you think in another way well we are not even agree in what is a good video. If the argument is the third parties needs more time then give to them
not all are one single person working which by the way is the title with the best graphics in the presentation this presentation, this matter because has the name of Xbox in the title and all
social networks.

If a presentation of Sony suck I will say it, the same for Nintendo and also for Xbox.

Yeah I get you; along with this meeting my expectations so did the reaction... I expected middling 3rd party game trailers and people to be furious.

MS has an over-hyping problem for sure... which is part of it..

But MS has an over-hyping problem... why anyone EXPECTS more is beyond me lol We all know it, we all talk about it...

I'd personally rather see the trailers than not see them though. I don't really care about OTHERS reactions; it's just funny to me. I'm a consumer considering buying products.. I'd rather see products and have people be upset then think it's better not to show anything. People would actually rather NOT see this stuff to have some sort of marketing "win" for their favorite toy or something (not accusing you of that, but we literally have posters saying 'Sony would never show this stuff' like that's a good thing...)

The video of the games are obviously provided by the studios themselves, not created by Microsoft. The way games were brought, well that's Inside Xbox, and all Microsoft employees work from home, so not sure what you were expecting. Something as big as an E3 event, where someone is standing on stage? Wasn't going to happen.

Graphically, I'm not even sure what Microsoft can do about this. You are pretty much just shitting on all those hard working devs and their games

Man, I am really disappointed about the stream.
Some games were ok-good, but none of them was worth the hype (ok Yakuza and Scarlet Nexus were a good sign for japanese games) or shouted: "next game is here!"
I really hope, that the next streams will be better.
Honestly I think too, that Sony will somehow make fun of it or counter it and will raise the hype for PS5 more then before.

Somehow the MVP was misssing today. Where was the savior Phil Spencer?

They should have gone in with their first-party studios rather than 3rd party. They should be trying to show why consumers should pick up a Series X, but that was a shit show beyond, everything they showed pretty much looked like it could easily be done on the one X

Exactly for us is normal to see cinematic trailers but as this presentation with less than 6 months before the console is out
please show me a game running in a dev kit.

For me this happens many reasons:

-Xbox sent the dev kits to late
-The covid
-Xbox put a date to early so even the third parties cannot have ready a good showcase for its games and yes I say Xbox because if
you work an studio and then one 3 big (Xbox,Play,Nintendo) put a date for make some event related only for third parties you have
to rushed in order to be ready

That wasn't even for sure what the games will look like. At the bottom of every trailer it said that it was a target for the "expected performance of Xbox Series X" or something along those lines, so we'll have to wait and see what those games actually end up looking like, which could be better or worse.

I meant early in the generation.

But reality is; boot most games that came out in the last year and compare them to RDR2. They also won't compare well. Hell they won't compare well to GTA V.

Rockstar games aren't most games same as Sony's games aren't most games. GTA V is still one of the most impressive games of this generation technically, and it was a cross-gen game.

Early gen, mid gen, late gen. It doesn't matter, the jump in visuals is noticeable immediately when big budget gameplay is shown. I pointed Rockstar output because both GTA V and RDR2 underwent through same intensive process of detailing.

Anyways, here is a GIF of Infamous on PS3 and PS4. Developed by same studio, and to fit your criteria it was a launch window title.

[...]We've had nearly 7yrs of this gen, we don't need Jaguar cores and mechanical HDD's holding us back for another year, or even two.[...]

You can be certain that HDDs will be thing much longer. Almost all third party titles will be also released on PC where a huge amount of gamers still have HDDs and you don´t have hardware sellers like Crysis anymore where people want to upgrade their PC really quick, Therefore in my opinion we will see a gap between third party titles and exclusives.

I really enjoyed playing Killzone Shadowfall. It was a great game. (I know some will disagree :D )

After seeing this from Microsoft I was expecting to see many some games that are on par with it or at least pretty close.

Maybe I just had my expectations a bit high after seeing HellBlade 2 a while back.

woof.. 7K dislikes vs. 3K likes on MS Video.

BTW, the first guy in the video, Damon Baker. Does anyone else feel like he sounds like that "moore's law is dead" guy?

EDIT: Seems they hid the main video and re-uploaded another one. The original had much higher like/dislike ratio.

Right.. as was the visual difference between PC and console late in the previous gen.

This was a 3rd party showcase though. Nobody is claiming 1st party games don't see a leap; particularly Sony's.

Infamous isn't "most games." You just keep bringing up outliers; Rockstar games.. Sony games... have anything else to show?

And compare it to what a game looked like on PC near the end of the previous gen... because that's what this conversation is about.

What's was weird with the stream was the multiple mention "expected gameplay on Serie X"
It was very strange.
I mean the show was sell as a inside for Serie X gameplay and we had those mention.

I've always seen next gen looking games at the start of a new console gen. So I really don't see why it would be any different this time around.

I'm fully expecting to see next gen looking games at launch for both of these systems.

I actually enjoyed Cerny's deep dive more than this crap that I just watched. Probably about 10 seconds of actual gameplay. If you've got nothing to show then don't!

If I am Microsoft I can request a real gameplay if they don't have ready then I move the date that is my responsibility, I was talking about the video in
general not the trailers I think was obvious.

And about the employees you really don't get my point, in the video some of them basically we changing the background of zoom conference like really. Even
if you see in a moment when a dev is talking, he make a good video for an interview compare to the another so is not impossible to do something better.

I don't think this is fault of the employess, they do what they can in the time was given, the problem is the people who give that time and never checks the complete video
and thinks "maybe the streaming doesn't meet our standard of quality we should avoid in some way to looks like we are using Zoom for the video recording".
