Sony will drop a bombshell soon. We live in the age of social media. Words get around. There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the power of the console etc. How can they go at their own pace and ignore all of this for much longer? 😁

Just like they did with ps4. All the specs had ps4 at 2 or 4 gig ram . They didn't say anything till reveal .

If the first version had better performance I expect the latest to be around 40% better.

Sadly no new info other than confirming the rumored 16 threads instead of 8, which is really damn nice considering an 8C/8T Zen CPU would already be 4x more capable than Jaguar. Could this mean we will get advanced physics, AI, animations etc. AND 60FPS at the same time? I certainly hope so.

I'd like to know about this too. We know PS5 dev kits are ultra fast and dev friendly. All we have for XSX dev kit is that it's easy to use, as per Hmqgg (twitter).

Well why couldn't they ignore the blue balls of a few forum users..? What do you mean would happen to them if they keep going at their own pace? 😅

A while ago (many years ago) I watched the humorous chapters of Celebrity Jeopardy where Sean Connery came out. In one of his interventions he was asked to say a month that began with "Feb". And he said Febtober.

I remember publishing an October news in February.

It just made me funny.

I get what he's saying, because the future is all digital, streaming, gamepass etc so of course they are competition, but you would be a fool if you didn't think Sony have a Ps Now overhaul planned that will rival gamepass. You know it's coming.

But don't do like this Phil... because all this sounds like to people is "we can't compete with Sony so we will compete with the failures".

Nah cause Nintendo says all the time they arent competitors to Sony and MS and they do pretty good for themselves.

Hmm 🤔 I just think 10 months or so away from release is close enough to start spilling shit. There is a reason industry people are on these forums and converse with the hardcore gamers. I am pretty sure they even lurk here without accounts. Hi Mark Cerny 👀😜. So we are not that unimportant I guess

Honestly speaking, I think MS have the best conditions among them: they have the infrastructure, they have exclusive content and they have a console option to streaming. Stadia showed everyone you don't get inside this market without content, and Amazon will have the same problem. Sony have content and a console option, but they don't have the infrastructure (for that they will have to pay MS for Azure).

There's no skirting around those kinds of costs. And in the end it doesn't make sense if you had already planned your target specs. What do you need another APU for if you already know what you wanted in the original design?

Well to be fair, i think neither of us know the real costs involved in any of it, or even what is Sonys policy on the matter _ don't forget the unprecedented Pro mid-gen refresh, and the costs it must have involved (it was even rumored there was 2 skus, one with a better cpu that would bring the Pro price to the 500s), and for what? To have a 4k compatible system to support those tvs, and maybe to improve Psvr experience? _ knowing the fact that this new, more pricey/for the hardcore sku, would sell a lot less than the 'normal' ps4! _ that's a company ready to take risks and with a 'open to invest' policy, if you ask me.

And that's why im still confident that Githubs Oberon doesn't represent the all picture. First of all because we know that ps4 pro bc is accomplished with only half of the GPU active, to mimic the original ps4. So these regression tests could be only for Ps5 bc, and the same way RT is not present, only 36CUs are enabled to mimic the Pro. Yeah, people can say that's really stretching, but isn't it all right now? We don't have dozens of tests do we? How much were there in the github leak _ and mainly testing ps4 and pro clocks! (only one pushing 2GHz like a stress test to the chip). Until we know the real specs everything is conjecture and stretching lol, so i still find credible that Sony has planed and is in final stages of delivering, a proper system that will be able to provide native 4k (on NEXT-GEN games), hardware based Ray Tracing, and a next generation leap in PSVR2... That's a lot of stuff for a 9/10tf don't you think? (and I'm not even mentioning the 8k support crazy talk lol)
