Respectively about 56 CUs and 40CUs (with 8 cores Zen 2 for the CPU). But 4 CUs will be deactivated in the retail consoles so that will make 52 CUs and 36 CUs.So how much can you fit in 350 mm2 and how much in 310 mm2 ?

4. Why bring MisterXMedia into this?
5. Half this forum thinks PS5 will be getting 64CUs or greater
lockhart may still happen afterall.
Im fine with this. There should be a lower end model imo especially if they won't force One company with future games. No one should get left behind.
The problem is the lower next-gen baseline, assuming devs want to target higher than that.I personally don't see what the problem is. Just buy the stronger one.

Or maybe MS will keep releasing cross-gen games. Cheaper games for Game Pass, since game dev costs will be lower.
Either way, they need to make up their minds. All this flip-flopping is annoying IMHO.
I mean its their job either way doesn't really matter. But I agree they need to make their mind up soon.
Assuming they go through with it I imagine itll be a "one more thing" announcement at E3.
Switch 2 is rdna 3 confirmedif PS5 is RDNA and Nexbox is RDNA2 then MS is back in the game baby!

Let's assume any of them use 5nm. How would it help powerwise? It's not the 80 CU part that's ridiculous (they can do whatever they want with experimental devkits, including having discrete Vega GPUs), it's the RDNA1 (Sony) vs RDNA2 (MS) part.
Both of them are going to be RDNA2 (due to HW RT), so what's the point of lowballing Sony? Unless you have an agenda (aka system wars) of course... fanboys gonna be fanboys, there's no cure for them. Let them dream!
5nm also seems a bit risky to me, I'm not sure if they can make it in time for a late 2020 release. Unless it gets delayed until 2021, which means Sony would get a next-gen headstart.
5nm offers 1.8x transistor density compared to 7nm.Let's assume any of them use 5nm. How would it help powerwise?
So if the die sizes are correct then xbox could be 40% faster gpu?
Theres speculation if PS has HBM then will have smaller mem controller size but that didnt seem to be reflected in the leaks that quoted die size. ( unless i remember wrong .. it was a different leak not the one that almost seems verified ).
btw anyone quote 14 tf for either console is obviously wrong.
No, we have debunked this myth way too many times already:
https://adoredtv.com/zen2-chiplet-quality-examined-by-cost/ (spoiler alert: it's a $30 CPU with 7nm chiplet + 12nm I/O die, it's gonna be even smaller in a monolithic 7nm APU die)
You're not paying on the basis if it's a netbook or desktop IP, you're paying on the basis of die size.
8-core Zen @ 7nm requires roughly the same amount of die space as 8-core Jaguar @ 28nm.SonGoku had done the calculations long time ago.

I also like the idea of lockhart, 1080p is still very good for gaming especially with today's AA techniques.
There are also many gamers who would be fine with 1080p
I'm not playing shit at 1080p in 2020I also like the idea of lockhart, 1080p is still very good for gaming especially with today's AA techniques.

N7+ has identical yield rates to N7 and will steadily improve, while also offering a 20% increase to transistor density. There's also a 10% performance uplift or 15% power efficiency increase.
I imagine it wouldn't have hardware RT though.
I don't see why not.
It would play the same games as the scarlett but just at a reduced resolution.
I mean to run Battlefield 5 at 4k with RT and at 1080p takes pretty different hardware.
I also don't get why devs are complaining about it, it's not like pc gamers are going to abandon 1080p.
They already pay a lot of money upfront (it keeps AMD afloat and it funds their R&D):Oh, I thought relative performance would factor into the cost, I mean ms/Sony still pay amd for the design and rights to fab it.
I'm not annoyed with the messenger, I'm annoyed with the employee who is "feeding" them.It would be kind of hard to accuse MS of flip flopping. If the so called insiders don't know what MS is up to then they just don't know.
Be annoyed with the leakers. MS isn't throwing off and on switches, they're sticking whatever they have planned all along. If Lockhart is a thing, it always WAS a thing. There was never any proof it ever was or wasn't.
A mobile 4TF (FP32) tablet SoC? You sure about that? What about DRAM? GDDRX isn't a good fit for mobile devices.I tend to think the significance of the X1X mobo in the Scarlett announcement vid points to what the origins of what Lockhart may be. And I'm going to once again speculate that Lockhart IF IT EVEN EXISTS is entirely mobile. A 4TF (7TF GCN equivalent) tablet based system with a built in hub for XCloud and Game Pass.

Xbox One deal worth more than $3 billion to AMD, claims former VP
AMD secured a deal to provide Microsoft with the silicon to power its new Xbox One console, and a former AMD VP claims that the deal is worth in excess of $3 billion.www.zdnet.com
Paying a premium over the die would be preposterous. We're talking about console economies of scale here, not off-the-shelf PC parts from Amazon/Newegg.
I'm not annoyed with the messenger, I'm annoyed with the employee who is "feeding" them.Controlled leaks and whatnot.

To me it seems more like a sub-70W APU, kinda like Slim consoles.
MS got robbed on that AMD deal. $3 billion to design a $400 console at 1.3TF (excluding Kinect)? Ouch.
Microsoft... please.. don't do it.
Will be a fucking mess you know...Just buy anaconda and pretend lockhart doesn't exist. Your games will look perfectly fine.

I mean, where Xbox One X will be?
A weaker version of a weaker next gen model or a better version than a weaker next gen model?
Maybe its just be, but this is a terrible business choise.
Hope so, but still very very confuding take into consideration they sell the Xbox One S and Xbox One SAD.IF they do this One X will probably be discontinued.

Was a brief talk from Phill in previous E3 if I remember right. Was Lockhart ever even confirmed by MS? Funny it's been leaked, cancelled, and un-cancelled while possibly never even existing.
I still keep my opinion about confuse the consumer. Countries like USA will be easy to remove from selling those products. In others countries for example here in Brazil they still sell the old Xbox One and even the not revision dualshock 4.My guess would be disc based one s and one x get discontinued. One S All Digital gets price cut. Lockhart $300-400 and anaconda $500-600.
Pro and One X are most likely discontinued before they do any revision. They will keep the base consoles around, but if you want "enhanced" on your ps4 and X1 games, they want you buying PS5 and Scarlet.I prefer to believe both Microsoft and Sony will take advance of 7nm for make a even more slim version of PS4/Xbox One... Or a slim version of PRO and Xbox One X.
I dunno about that. You see, some third parties are really targeting the PRO and X rather than base models.Pro and One X are most likely discontinued before they do any revision. Was this before or after Xbox SAD?Was a brief talk from Phill in previous E3 if I remember right.
'next Xboxs'. Rich from DF mention that .
Can't remember, but DF made a video about that. Was this before or after Xbox SAD?
Come on guys.
We get 30fps because in "better graphics at 30fps or worse at 60fps" the former always wins.
Why would PS5 change that?
Was this before or after Xbox SAD?
