Trying to wrap my head around when doing a next-gen system-related (or just gaming-related) advert or vignette at the Superbowl was a bad thing

. I mean, Sony's done advertising with FIFA events and F1 in the past, were those seen as bad? I didn't think they were, I'm sure lots of other people enjoyed having their presence there, too.
More opportunity for exposure and getting your message out there is a good thing in my book. I'm pretty sure Sony, MS and Nintendo will have some kind of advertising deals going on with the Olympics this summer, too. Will people think those are a waste of time or resources?
