🥴🥴🥴

I want to get off now... You boys and your reading into things. Though it wouldn't surprise me if Sony do come out and say something utterly insane. Remember when they said the PS3 was 2tf 🤣🤣🤣

Edit: you know this article isn't official right? It says right there on page one "the only official specs we have are..." The rest are tales from their arse. It's a speculation piece, and it talks about theoretical limits and numbers. Nothing in that whole thing is legit conformation, other than the bare few lines at the start.

Guys come on, use a LITTLE common sense.

It is the maximum we can expect, the minimum says it is 7.36TFLOPS

The article say it's between 7.8 to 13.8 tf 😂😂like no shit Sherlock

Is this from the Sony Q&A?

If so, sold at a loss, overall profit due to services and games.
Yes. A translation of the answers to investors questions.
Yeah not made clear if it meant profitable at all times or sold at a loss at launch and at a profit later in the life cycle.

It does not matter that it is not official, it is based on real data to calculate the theoretical maximums and minimums that we can expect.

This weeks euro lottery is 32 million, and if I enter that's the most I can win. It doesn't mean I will.

Please don't look at the clouds and see Elvis, it's bad for your health 😃

You forget something very important, you are talking about a PS5 of 36CU when it informs that the minimum we can expect is 50CU

It does not matter that it is not official, it is based on real data to calculate the theoretical maximums and minimums that we can expect.

Based on real data, but that data is insignificant and incomplete. It would be like me saying "I'm going to have sex with this hot blonde that kept looking at me when I was at the shop", and my actual solid data consists of "she looked in my general direction. Once."

If you're going off data like this, that just leaves most people back to the 9 vs 12 talk. And that's just stupid at this point, because nobody knows.

The data we have is so incomplete, you can't accurately make any sort of viable, decent guess. Plus the data we have is from several different places and is several different things.

Don't do this to yourself man, or worse don't do it to others. There are a lot of members of Gaf, and the internet at large, who will put 2 and 2 together and get 5. They will read this as gospel, when in fact... it's just as much a guess as anybody else in this thread.

If you want hard facts? Wait for Sony and MS. But even THEN assume some of what they will say will be spin and not real.

See, thats the issue when it comes to these waiting times for nextgen. Everyone says so much stuff that isn't officially confirmed. it very much so matters. Theory is theory, as is speculation.

He's seriously mistaken if he thinks real (or officially confirmed) data doesn't matter. That's how these "console wars" and nextgen waiting game speculation gets out of hand lol, always has because of primarily theory and speculation being repeated and, oftentimes, believed.

13.8 is what developer BGs BGs wrote and he also liked chemical boy chemical boy post that highlighted that number. :pie_thinking:

Hey guys, stop speculating on a speculation thread, people might believe it, what?

People can and should speculate whatever they want, as long as they are being respectful. Other people believing anything that comes out of it is on them.

I didn't say "don't speculate" you tit 🤣 but he did say this was actual hard info on the specs of the ps5. Thats not speculation, that's just flat out wrong 🤪

Is it? where is your hard data saying he is wrong? Oh you dont have it cuz everyone is speculating.

You have a hard time understanding the difference between here say and evidence. There is a reason here say isn't allowed in court, it's unreliable.

*Hearsay* is normally inadmissible because the "accused shall enjoy the right ... to be confronted with the witnesses against him" (sixth amendment). There are quite a few exceptions to this rule depending on the court / country etc. I think rumours about toys in an online forum speculation thread might just make the exception list. :messenger_winking:

If something is speculation, we treat it as such. For example nobody has said digital foundry has hard facts about the SX performance, they have made educated guesses. That's absolutely fine, and the bread and butter of this thread, but still, people dog piled on them.

This article, wherever the heck it's from, is doing the same thing - speculating. It's talking about theoretical limits on the silicone that are possible, it doesn't mean likely or will happen.

So when you pop your head up and say:

" You forget something very important, you are talking about a PS5 of 36CU when it informs that the minimum we can expect is 50CU"

You are not presenting this as speciation, but as fact. He's saying the minimum to expect is 50cus, when in reality the minimum we can expect is 0, because we have no real idea of anything.

This is equal to saying the next Xbox will be most powerful because of the size of the console, but not seeing the spec sheet. It's ok to make those guesses, but treat them such - guesses.

And I'm all for open discussion about guesses and speciation, I've done a fair whack of it myself.

also need i remind everybody but there are certain... people... on the internet that are a little bit too obsessed with twitter, and will take anything said here, no matter how small, and make it "news" without even thinking of what they are saying is true or not. BGs BGs can tell you all about the fun they have had with people twisting their words.

I think there is enough misinformation out there, and yeah this is on Sony/MS really, but you understand why they are keeping their cards close to their chest.

Dude, dont move the goalpost, we are talking about you trying to silence people. Just let people post what they want, how they want. Report them if you think they are going too far and let the moderation team decide who can post about what and how.
